Non-U.S. residents can form an LLC in the U.S., though it's more complex without a Social Security Number. You need to file Articles of Organization, get an EIN from the IRS, draft an operating agreement, and hire a registered agent in your chosen state.

If you don't live in the United States, can you register a business here? The answer is yes. Many international entrepreneurs want to have a business registered in the US to tap into the US market. The process is perfectly legal and the US does not have any restrictions on registering an LLC even though you're not a citizen or resident of the US. The process is a little bit more complicated for those of you that don't have Social Security numbers, but basically it consists of filing the Articles of Organization, applying to get an EIN number, and then drafting an operating agreement for the LLC. But remember, when filing for the LLC, you have to have a registered agent in the state of formation. I would also recommend getting a virtual US business address. I've done this quite a few times for international entrepreneurs that want to expand their business and tap into the US market. So if you have any questions, leave them in the comments below and I'd be happy to help.
