Before registering an LLC, search the USPTO database for existing trademarks in your category, check if the domain is available, and verify social media handles are free. State approval doesn't protect you from trademark infringement, and skipping this step can force expensive rebranding later.

Watch this before you name your LLC. Unfortunately, I have spoken to quite a few entrepreneurs that register the LLCs themselves, and then later they realize, or they get a cease and desist letter stating that they're infringing on somebody else's trademark. So you're going to want to make sure before registering the LLC that you are not infringing on a trademark. You'll also want to check to make sure that you can get the social media handle that you desire for your LLC and potentially a website. Just because the state accepts your LLC doesn't mean that you aren't infringing on somebody's trademark, and it doesn't mean that you will be able to get the website you desire or the social media handle. To avoid this happening, you're going to want to search the uspto.gov website to make sure that there's nobody else in the same or similar category of your business using the same name that you registered your LLC with. You'll then want to check a website like godaddy.com to make sure that you can get the domain name that you want, and you'll want to check the various social media platforms to make sure that the desired handle is available. This is a very easy mistake to avoid. It just requires that you do a little bit of research prior to registering the LLC. And again, just because the state accepts the LLC doesn't mean that you are not infringing on somebody's trademark.
