Dr. Rob, a surgeon who has removed thousands of breast implants, says 29% test positive for bacterial contamination, mostly Staphylococcus epidermidis. He argues no synthetic implant is truly safe because the body mounts an immune response. Contamination can come from the manufacturer, handling before surgery, or the surgeon during implantation.

Doctor Rob, I know you've taken out thousands of implants. How many of them are truly infected? We found that 29% actually have bacterial contamination. Found on PCR testing. It's a bacterial infection. What type of bacteria is it? Staph epidermidis. And so there's no safe implant. It's impossible. Not that's been made thus far. Even if it's from nature, there's only autologous, which is your own tissue. Everything else, unless it's your genetically identical twin, has to have a level of immunosuppression for you to be able to keep it. Otherwise, it's going to get rejected. If it's an organ, if it's a prosthesis, your body's going to form a collagen bag around it to try to get it out. What about lip? Like blowing your lips up, all the filler. Things are interesting because, Dr. Rob, you said 29% of breast implants are infected. How is that even possible? There's three ways to get it. They give you a contaminated implant, they contaminate it, and give it to the surgeon, contaminate it, and they put it in. Then the surgeon could contaminate it. Those are the two most unlikely likely ways to get contamination.
