Dr. Robert Whitfield starts addiction recovery with blood work, not therapy. He corrects deficiencies like low vitamin D and hormone imbalances that heavy drug use causes, which restores energy and mental clarity. His own 13-year addiction left his biological age matching his actual age, showing why fixing the body matters for sobriety.

Our approach is to not to approach to people who comes to us dealing with their addiction just talking about their problems or their trauma. What we do first, a comprehensive blood work. And over there, instead of just giving them an antidepressant or anything else, we see that vitamin D level is very low, their hormone levels are low, their thyroid levels are low most of the time because of heavy use. When we fix these, we see that their energy level comes comes back, they're more coherent, they're more willing to get into sobriety. So that's one part of my— how I try to approach. The second part is that I actually, to be honest with you, convince them with longevity. Because in my own journey, what I did see, since I've been very interested into this longevity biohacking world for over 10 years, more and more tests started coming out. And I saw that 13 years of using drugs really affected my system so much that all these biological age tests shows that I'm barely now equal to my chronological age.
