This is a YouTube interview (May 9, 2022) featuring Danica Patrick discussing her belief that breast implants caused a range of health problems and announcing she underwent explant surgery. Dr. Robert Whitfield, the video's host/creator, outlines his experience (over 500 explants), describes diagnostic and follow-up testing (PCR for biofilm, screening EEGs pre-op and at 1 week/1 month/3 months post-op), and explains a broad, holistic post-explant care program including extensive bloodwork, hormone replacement, nutraceuticals, genetic testing for metabolism and detox pathways, environmental/toxicity screening (mold, aldehydes, heavy metals), and aesthetic techniques (fat grafting).
Danica Patrick recently had an explant for breast implant illness. She discussed this on Good Morning America.
Speaking out now about her health battle, which she says was brought on by breast implants. So breast augmentation is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the United States. But for Danica Patrick, she thinks that her implants were the root cause of various health issues. And she's not alone. I thought to myself, I want to share this if it makes a difference, because I tried so many different things to feel better, to look better, all the things, and nothing worked.
We're all very happy that she's shared her experience so that other women can get value out of her experience and learn from it. So I've done over 500 explants with PCR testing on all of those, demonstrating in some instances biofilm, which can be very activating to the immune system. In addition, symptoms like brain fog we evaluate with EEGs at our office. We do a screening EEG at a pre op appointment when someone's scheduled at a week post op, a month post op and three months post op. Because we really want to see people recover their cognitive function. If they don't recover that, we have supplements and other referral patterns to physicians and clinics to use if that's still an issue. We also do a really extensive amount of blood work because in my experience, if you haven't looked at and tried to evaluate the liver functions, kidney function, the hormones such as thyroid, estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, if these are not all balanced, people will take a longer period of time to recover. So we do our own hormone balancing with biologic hormones for replacement if necessary. We have nutraceuticals to augment in a holistic way if necessary. We also have an extensive testing program with genetics. It looks at both tendencies for addictive behaviors, mood disturbances, sleep optimization, carbohydrate and fat metabolism. The specific immunities that we're evaluating for detox pathways like glutathione metabolism, methylation, your superoxide dismutase pathway at the cellular level, things that are really going to be impactful and potentially help you with supplements if you have problems with these. We also look at and want to know your. How do you do in your environment? There's a lot of stress in our environments for both home at work, we may not recognize these. There's actually a test we do that looks at the total toxicity, whether it's something like mold exposure, something like products have certain things like aldehydes in them that can be toxic to you. In addition, you can have heavy metal toxicity depending on maybe where you grew up, the groundwater you drank growing up, or the environment you're in. Currently, we feel like we have a very holistic and 360 approach to each parent. We try to give you an individual plan that will suit you the best and we look very carefully at these labs and tests to give you the best possible outcomes with your surgery. I perform a host of procedures to help in terms of getting the best overall aesthetic outcomes as well as doing the best explant I can for each and every patient. We have great fat grafting equipment that we, we feel really gives us an edge and gives us great results. I have my own personal set of instruments. We have our own private tech who's done over 400 explants with me. So we feel uniquely positioned in Austin, Texas to have you come visit us and we'll take care of you. You'll have a good time with us in Austin.
