Robert Whitfield MD (speaker) explains how body changes over time affect patients with breast implants. He notes that younger patients are typically leaner but may gain weight with age, and that pregnancy and hormonal shifts (perimenopause/menopause) also alter breast tissue. He describes using fat transfers to restore small amounts of volume to offset these physical changes.
Yeah, for Casey. And a lot of my patients who have, obviously, many people get implants because they don't have a lot of tissue. And we discussed that, you know, when you're younger and you do this, everybody's leaner. And then over time, you know, life will. Will allow you to get a little heavier. And then patients who've had children, obviously there's changes, hormonal changes, perimenopause, menopause, all the things that can actually know happen. And I try to do fat transfers and optimize patients so that giving a little bit of volume back can certainly offset some of the issues from a physical standpoint.
