A YouTube video (uploaded by Robert Whitfield MD) in which a speaker describes challenges of short medical appointments and explains how receiving implants preceded and contributed to a decline in their immune-system resilience. The speaker emphasizes the value of extended, functional-medicine-style visits to trace health history and identify contributing factors to illness.

So, you know, for me over the years we would do a lot of in depth testing and look at someone's history and in true functional medicine practices, I feel like you get more extended appointments. It's really hard for someone to give you that type of care in a 15 minute appointment, even if your primary care provider means really well. It's just hard because oftentimes you have to go back and look at the story. And even for me, when I was sick, we're looking at all the contributing factors. But if you go back to even just the year before I was sick, which most doctors aren't going to talk to you about, that's when I got my implants so I can look back and trace my story to say, oh, you know, my body did okay for a little bit, but then my immune system under stress and coming into contact with all these pathogens, it just, I didn't have an immune system to fight back. Yeah, that's an important point and I'm glad you explained it that way.
