Eliminate Dark Circles and Eye Bags with Tear Trough Injections | Dr. Robert Whitfield, Austin, TX

Hi, it's Dr. Whitfield from Austin, and I just wanted to share a little bit about tear trough injections today because I just had a patient who I injected their tear trough. Tear trough injections, they don't have to be as complicated as they're made out. I think injectors who are experienced can inject carefully into the tear trough, either in a direct manner or an indirect manner. In a direct manner, using the injection needle, you're making small injections along the bone to elevate the orbicularis oculi. This helps diminish the indentation or that appearance that we look tired or have dark circles around our eyes. Today I injected indirectly using a cannula. It's just to me, a little bit easier, a little bit safer to perform. I was a little lateral in the area outside the tear trough and then indirectly injected into the teardrop to just soften it. I just used unaltered restylane with lidocaine to inject this area. It's very simple. It was done, you know, really in under a couple minutes. The patient left. There's no swelling, there's no bruising, so it's very easy to do. I do it at all three of my locations in Austin, Round Rock and Lake Way.
