A conversational YouTube video featuring Robert Whitfield MD and another speaker discussing implant-related toxin leaching, sauna use, and post-explant recovery. Key points in this chunk: an anecdote of a patient whose implants leached metals (tin, cadmium, platinum, aluminum) after heavy sauna exposure (barrel sauna), distinction between barrel/steam saunas and infrared saunas, and Dr. Whitfield's recommendation to avoid overheating until explant and to wait about 90 days post-explant before resuming sauna; focus on improving immune status via diet, supplements, and binders to decrease toxin burden.

And then for my patients, I have a very, very famous instance of where sauna is not great. So I had somebody basically cause leaching from their implants by being in a sauna. Now, it was a barrel sauna, not an infrared sauna. But I can guarantee any of the studies ever done with implants were not randomized to a group that had sauna treatment to not. Her toxin test was a litany of tin, cadmium, platinum, aluminum, all the curing elements in the shell. Basically. Basically got me in a ton of trouble because it talked about it on her show.
So I'm gonna say what you are not saying because it can't be said. I was saunaing so much with my implants that it started to seep out.
So they complained about me, which is fine. But I bet you a lot of people stopped using sauna because of that, and they stopped leaching their implants when they were inside a sauna. Now, IR obviously doesn't get as hot as a barrel steam sauna, but it has a depth of penetration that's different. So the short answer is I just tell people not to overheat them themselves until they explant them. Give them about 90 days, and then we, you know, resume things, of course, like you mentioned, with binder. So I just try to, like, these folks are usually not the best shape when I get them. So we try to get them from an immune standpoint on the correct diet and supplementation and as you mentioned, decrease the toxins or the toxicity burden they're up against in their daily life.
