Short transcript excerpt from a YouTube video (creator: Robert Whitfield MD) discussing differing explant-surgeon practices: some surgeons avoid offering immediate breast lifts or fat grafting at the time of implant explantation, while others perform these procedures commonly and report high patient satisfaction and favourable breast appearance without implants.
So I do hear about explant surgeons that will not offer breast, lips, and or fat grafting at the time of explant. Very strange. I really don't understand that concept. The patients are uniformly told, wait a year, there's inflammation, the blood supply is going to improve. You don't come back. And when I ask those surgeons, how often do those patients come back? They don't say, like, yeah, 5 or 10%. Yeah, I'm doing breast lifts or fat grafting on, you know, maybe 75% of my explant or 80% of my explant patients. And some of them say, if I knew the breast would be this good with this approach, I never would have put the implant in. Right, Right. You know, I'm learning from them.
