A short YouTube clip (clinician Robert Whitfield MD) argues that environmental and internal toxins correlate with increased fungal growth (e.g., Candida), citing ecological examples like fungi thriving in radioactive zones (Chernobyl) as an analogy. Clinically, the speaker says they shifted from immediately prescribing antifungals toward addressing underlying toxins via detox products, asserting that without removing toxins fungal overgrowth will recur.

I agree, and it's, It's a lot more than we should have. But I think part of it has to do with the amount of toxins that are in the environment. There's a. There's a correlation, especially with the fun, the fungi and stuff there where it'll grow and proliferate to help offset the toxicity, especially in the body. Not just the environment, but the body. So when you look at areas that have gone through radioactive material, you know, like Chernobyl and these type of places, the first thing to grow is the, you know, big mushrooms and big fungi to help absorb that radiation. Well, in our body's the same way. We're going to have a lot more Candida, or Candida, however you want to pronounce that. We're going to more fungi through the body when there's more and higher levels of toxicity. So radioactive poisoning, whether it's environmental toxins, whether it's heavy metal toxins in the body, it's. It's going to be upregulated and they're going to try and metabolize and help the body to offset that. So our approach, my approach changed from what I'd usually do clinically was always like, here's some antifungals to where I would look at an oat test and said, okay, you have a lot of bacteria and you have a lot of fungus here. Candida. Well, I'm gonna provide detox products to help clear the toxins to why those are upregulated. Otherwise, you're on a Candida diet for life. Because this keeps coming back, because you're not addressing the root cause, right?
