A patient with persistent fatigue had an implant-related infection that wasn't obvious at first. Robert Whitfield MD identified the occult infection and treated it with oral antibiotics. The fatigue resolved completely once the infection was addressed.
So this was an occult infection, and her main symptom was fatigue. Now, many patients who undergo cancer treatments have fatigue, so that's not an uncommon problem. But her fatigue was not from cancer treatment. Her fatigue was having an infection or an implant. And so when we found this information, you know, and I, you know, I went through all the notes and records and reviewed everything, make sure we somehow didn't miss this. We placed her on some oral antibiotic therapy for this, and what do you know, all of her fatigue went away.
