A brief YouTube conversation (Robert Whitfield MD and another speaker) discussing risks associated with breast implants, especially how sauna use may promote leaching of heavy metals from degrading implant shells. A case example is cited where a patient had elevated heavy metals (tin and cadmium), improved after explantation and detoxification, and retested with lower levels. The speakers advise against sauna use with implants and suggest toxicology testing to benchmark removal benefits.

Some people will explant and not really feel that much better. Despite my patients, again on Instagram and are super happy, like Lauren Bostick, you know, basically from the recovery room, she was creating a leaching situation by going into her sauna. Everybody gets mad at me when I say this, but the. The degradation of the shell, which has all the heavy metals in it, was going into her system and we tested it. And then after her explant, she spent the summer in Italy, basically, and then came back and we retested and result out of her system. So I would say the short answer is I always want everybody to use that tox test as a benchmark themselves, because everybody's going to have a different one. And we do see people who have elevated levels of tin and cadmium and things depending on their level of detox and. And you would be surprised, like, ruptures and things like that, because that's loss of integrity of the shell of the implant. So, no, nobody can refute what's going on there. Like, I get people all the time mad at me for saying things, but when you have a rupture and things are leaking, that's not a. That's not. That device has lost its integrity. So those things will get into your system.
Well, yeah. Two takeaways is don't use the sauna if you have implants and take them out and go to Italy.
