Short transcript of Robert Whitfield MD reacting to Dr. Meg’s statements about mold and mycotoxins. Whitfield emphasizes that mold and mycotoxins are real health concerns, especially for sensitive individuals (including himself) with impaired glutathione pathways; moisture from leaks (bathroom, roof) commonly enables mold growth and can cause symptoms in sensitive people.

Doctor Meg just said the quiet part out loud, like everything is important and don't let anybody tell you it's not. If somebody tells you mold is not a thing, then you need to get away from them because they sound stupid. So mycotoxins are incredibly, you know, bothersome to my patient population. And I'm super sensitive because my glutathione pathway is not great. So things that would normally necessarily not bother another person, make, you know, me have allergy type symptoms or make me feel unwell. So if I and I, I had a, a home that we didn't know had mold in it in a bathroom, which is a common thing because of the fixtures, the, the pipes that go to the, you know, the faucets into the shower, and if you have any kind of leak in the tub or stuff like that, these are things that can happen, or roof leak or whatever. It doesn't really, really matter. Moisture can really set up the environment or mold to proliferate. And then if you're sensitive to mycotoxins like I am, you're not going to do well. Exactly. And I think that's a really important before we even move on.
