Dr. Robert Whitfield explains why some patients feel regret after breast implant surgery and why peer support programs like Pusat matter. Emotional responses are common in recovery, and clinicians need to help patients work through them.
That's—
yeah.
And so that leads to whether someone has the satisfaction or regret or all these different types of thoughts or feelings that then, like, I'm certain by some of the nature of the conversations we've had and we've had with patients, is it becomes overwhelming.
It does become overwhelming. That's kind of why the Pusat program is so amazing because One thing I always emphasize to women is, you know, they can be fixated on something for so much, but there's so many women that came before you that did this. You're not the anomaly. When you're going through this and you have a group of friends that all have implants, and you are the anomaly, you're the only one who's done it. It's very— I rarely have a patient that says, oh yeah, I had another friend that did this. That's not the common denominator, you know. So by reaching out to us and having us kind of like as that of people who we've taken care of, so many people who have been through this, you know, that is something that's different.
