A patient advocate describes sharing her experience with Breast Implant Illness (BII) and explant surgery, how her outreach led her to recommend surgeons, and how she discovered Dr. Robert (Rob) Whitfield's holistic approach — including DNA testing, mold/thyroid evaluation, nutrition, supplements, and post-op therapies — which she finds uniquely thorough and supportive for patients seeking full recovery after explant.

So I began sharing back in July about my experience with BII and explant and that began to resonate with women. And so they started reaching out to me, asking for recommendations on explant surgeons, which I had a few that I still knew about back from when I was searching for an explant surgeon three and a half years ago. But I live in Texas now and so I had a lot of women reaching out to me who live in Texas. And so I started researching and I found some really compelling and inspiring videos of Dr. Rob talking about his holistic approach to not only explant surgery and everything around it, but really, really listening to women and trying to get to the root cause of breast implant illness. And I had not seen that with many surgeons before. Even though really excellent explant surgeons, their focus is on doing an excellent job on removing the capsule, which is extraordinarily important, and doing a good explant surgery. But then after that you're own essentially for the most part. So to see that Dr. Rob had DNA testing and looking at mold and other potential thyroid hormones, other root causes, so that in case there's more than just EII going on, he wants the patients to actually get well. And so that to me was like just mind blowing. I mean, going into nutrition, a surgeon car about nutrition and then the fact that he also offered fat transfer. So these are all things that women are looking for. And so the more I deep dive into his protocols, his supplements, the healing modalities that he offers from pre and post op like the bouncer pro and now run light therapy, I was just really excited. So I talk every day on my Instagram site to women. I spend hours in my DMs answering questions. And I've learned so much from my interactions with Dr. Rob and that I'm able to share with other women. And yeah, it's just been, it's been really life informative and it's been very fulfilling to be able to help women connect with a doctor that I know is going to completely listen to them and help them live their healthiest life post explant.
