A brief YouTube video by Robert Whitfield MD offering practical preparations for explant surgery. Key advice: stop eating processed and ultra-processed foods (favor whole foods and unprocessed meats/fish/poultry), avoid drinking water from plastic bottles and use a simple water filter plus stainless container, and improve air quality—including use of an air filtration device (speaker names Jasper).

What's the prep for explant look like? So starting today, you can actually do simple things. You can cut out processed foods and ultra processed foods. If you don't know what those are, if it didn't come out of the ground, or if it wasn't a meat, a fish or a poultry item that you purchased, hopefully without hormones, grass fed, grass finished, those are the things you can eat. Things that come out of boxes, things that come out of bags, those are not real foods. So you can start by just doing that today. If in fact you're drinking water out of plastic bottles, I, I would stop that. Try to get a simple water filter system that is even a pitcher, you can do that and then just put it into a stainless container. Also an underappreciated issue is air quality. So whether we are in an environment where there's a lot of issues with where we're working or potentially where we live, many people now work out of their home offices. So things like air filtration are very, very important for my patients. Currently we recommend the use of a Jasper.
