A short YouTube conversation led by Dr. Robert Whitfield with guests Sharon and Jessica Brassington about protecting families from online scams and extortion. Speakers discuss how vulnerability and fear of reputation can lead people to be extorted, emphasize open parent–child communication, and Jessica shares her Instagram handle (Jess_Brassington) and Mama Bears Rising as places to follow her work.
Absolutely. You have to.
Like, I can be.
A hard ass, but, like, my kids can always tell me anything. I mean, and I'll. I'll listen.
I'm certainly.
Like, that kind of, you know, circumstance.
It's easy, right? You can see how it happens. It's very. People are vulnerable, and then, you know, they feel like they're gonna get extorted for money or threatened with their family's reputation or what. It just becomes, like, obviously, very easy to see how that you go down the rabbit hole very quickly. So.
Yes.
Well, I certainly admire you for all that work and, you know, encourage everybody to reach out to and follow Jess. So, Jessica, what is the best way to follow you for that work and on your sharing.
On social media?
Okay. On Instagram, I'm Jess J E S S underscore Brassington. And that's B R A S S I N G T O N. And I'm on there pretty much Instagram for now. I am going through some personal rebranding and things like that, but I'll be sharing a journey on there. And then also you can find me at Mama Bears Rising. And it's Mama Bears with an S Rising.
Awesome.
Thanks for coming on today. And, Sharon, I really appreciate having.
