Robert Whitfield MD describes a patient who developed metal leaching from implants after using a 212°F steam sauna, with toxin tests showing elevated tin, cadmium, platinum, and aluminum. He recommends waiting 90 days after explant before using hot saunas, and using binders plus dietary support to reduce toxin exposure.

Oh, I had somebody basically cause leeching from their implants by being in a sauna. Now, it was a barrel sauna, not an infrared sauna, but I can guarantee any of the studies ever done with implants were not randomized to a group that had sauna treatment to not. So the extreme temperature that she was in was 212Fahrenheit. And her toxin test was a litany of tin, cadmium, platinum, aluminum, all the curing elements in the shell, basically. And that basically got me in a shit ton of trouble because I talked about it on our show and then people called offices and started asking, should I use the sauna? And you know, basically, if something inconvenienced somebody like a surgeon, they're going to then complain about it. So they complained about me, which is fine. But I bet you a lot of people stop using sauna because of that and they stop leeching their self when they were inside, stop leaching their implants when they were inside a sauna. Now, IR obviously doesn't get as hot as a barrel steam sauna, but it has a depth of penetration that's different. So the short answer is I just tell people not to overheat themselves until they explant them. Give them about 90 days. And then we, you know, resume things, of course, like you mentioned, with binder. So I just try to, like, these folks are usually not the best shape when I get them. So we try to get them from an immune standpoint on the correct diet and supplementation and as you mentioned, decrease the toxins or the toxicity burden they're up against in their daily lives, where they work, where they live, the air they breathe, the fluid they drink, the foods they eat.
