The first implants ever, explained #implants #plasticsurgery

Robert Whitfield MD traces silicone breast implants from the first surgery in 1962 in Houston to today's fifth-generation designs. Early implants had thick shells and loose gel; newer ones are form-stable and highly cohesive. Implants over 10 years old carry higher rupture risk, and breast MRI is the best way to check for it, though it sometimes misses ruptures.
