Thursday Night Live! SHARP Method

Dr. Robert Whitfield explains why women often feel worse after breast implant removal and introduces the SHARP Method, which tests genetics, detoxification, inflammation, hormones, gut health, and nutrition to create personalized recovery plans. Most plastic surgeons skip these assessments, leaving patients without answers when fatigue and pain persist years later.

Trusting me. Hey y'all, you have to get more people on. Uh, when we live stream, okay? Any more people on the stream, so share it. It's pretty rare that I open the, uh, night with tool playing. It's what came on that was on the playlist. So everybody hop on, share with your friends. Come on, we have to get a lot of momentum tonight. If you've explained it down to a well, this is for you. You know, somebody who's X-Plan doesn't feel well afterwards, this is for them. Excuse me. I don't know if I like this one. Tool was okay, but I don't want this one. It's funny, this is a playlist that's on and it says feel good. Maybe we should do the Focus one. All right, we'll do the focus one. It was going to get a little out of control, so sorry, it was a little funny. All right, give everybody a few more minutes, then we'll get rolling. Got to move some of these cameras around. Sorry. There we go. I got TikTok. I look orange. Gotta share with your friends. If you have somebody you know that explainer doesn't feel well, share this with them. And if you have somebody thinking about explant surgery and is concerned about, um, what they'll feel like afterwards, it's good conversation for them to, to listen to. I'll have a special guest tonight, but we're going to keep that secret. I need a sound check. Can everybody hear me okay? So they can hear me on TikTok. How about on Instagram? Give me a sound check, please. Engage and let me know you can hear me okay. Anybody on Instagram, let me know you can hear me okay. Interesting. All right, all right, hop on. Hey Chip, how are you? All right, everybody's on TikTok. AR Cooper 1111, can you hear me? Please respond. Just gonna double-check a couple things. All right, that looks good. Nobody has said they can hear me or not on Instagram. Hey everybody. Very bizarre, but whatever, I guess. All right, perfect, that's good. All right, I'm gonna pause all of this. So on TikTok, we're discovering the recovery process after explant surgery. Thank you, Vivian. I appreciate you responding. Awesome. We're gonna get started in just a second. Yeah, perfect. Okay, I'm gonna pause this and get going. We're going to do the talk, then we'll have a live Q&A, and then we will go into the circle. We'll answer all your questions, we'll do a deep dive. I have a special guest in the circle as well. So I'm Dr. Whitfield MD, many of you know me, um, you've probably seen me here before if you catch Thursdays. So the talk tonight is why am I still sick after explant. And so you had your implants removed, so why do you still feel like this? Say we're talking, um, you know, and women who explanted a year ago, 5 years ago, 10 years ago, and they're still exhausted they still have pain, they're still not themselves. And so that's a little curious to me. It's not what I see, but they've even been told usually that the implants are out and they should feel better now. Now I'm going to use this in the context they've already had a capsulectomy. Now if that's you, and to be clear about something in the first few minutes here, there's nothing wrong with you. If you weren't measured through our program, that would be the frame. So for the next 20 minutes, we're going to see why wasn't that done, what can still be done regardless of how long it's been. So we want to do this now, not at the end. People need a lot of runway. I'm gonna go about 20 minutes here on all platforms, and I'm going into Dr. Rob's Circle for live Q&A. So drrobscircle.com, it's free to join, it's free to sign up. Go to the links in the bios. There's a simple enter your email address option, you get a magic link, and you can sign up for free. It takes just a few moments. Once again, hit the link in the bio or go to my website, Dr. Robert Whitfield MD. Com. If you have answer— I'm sorry, if you have questions you want answered tonight, then definitely stay here and then join us in the circle later. I want you to think back before your surgery. Did anybody— did anyone test your genetics? Did anybody Anyone look at your toxin levels? Did they even discuss that? Did you have the wherewithal to get other opinions about that? So your detox pathways and how they function are important. Did they look at other markers or inflammation? Did they look at your hormones? Did they discuss or evaluate your nutritional status? Almost nobody says yes when I talk to them after they've had that experience. It isn't in your surgical tradition training to do that. It isn't in the standard of care. It's not a, a code or anything. So it's really not the is somebody probably being lazy. His conventional plastic surgery practice doesn't include any of it, not before the operation, typically not after the operation, which means most women go through a major operation completely blind to what their body was actually working with. What were the circumstances? What were the— what was the terrain like? So, and then when they don't feel well afterward, there's no data to explain Why? There's nothing to look at. So the conclusion really becomes, it must be you. Now, removing the device does remove a source of chronic inflammation. It does not undo what your body has been managing for all the years that it was actually in place. And you can't have a device for 20 years and in 2 to 3 hours in the operating room resolve everything that's happened. So there's been chronic immune system activation. A device in the body is a long-term immune conversation. That conversation doesn't end the moment the device leaves. When I take it out in the operating room with the capsule, there's this detoxification burden, and some people clear compounds that are toxic to them more efficiently. That's our genetics, our code. Some don't, and a lot of that is once again determined by our genetics. You can have the same exposures but very different outcomes. There's hormonal disruption. Years of altered signaling doesn't reset the day I operate. In fact, cortisol surges the day I operate. Nutrient depletion. Chronic inflammation consumes the raw material your body needs to repair itself. Then you ask it to heal from a major surgery basically on an empty tank. So none of that resolves on its own just because the implant, the capsule material is gone. Those are separate independent problems that need to be identified and addressed, and nobody ever went looking for them. If, if you feel like this is the case, you're in the right place. So this is where Sharp, the Sharp Method, the book I wrote, the program we run, enters And it's very important you pay attention. So everything we do is looking before, not after. We want to prepare, not react. So what we look at are genetics, inflammatory status, gut testing, hormones, metabolism. Toxicity burden, all these things. So how your body is built to handle detoxification through methylation, inflammation control, this is the piece that almost nobody has, and it's a piece that explains why two women in identical situations can have completely different outcomes. You know, when we have a lot of inflammation, our immune system is really overstimulated. And that bleeds over into things like how our thyroid functions, how our sex hormones function, our insulin sensitivity, our metabolic markers. All of that then can lead to problems with energy, pain, cognition, healing capacity. And then I talk about nutrition a lot because if in fact you give the body enough oxygen, you give it enough nutrients, especially protein,, you'll be able to repair, you'll be able to heal, you'll be able to recover. And that's what the Sharp Method is. It's a structured way of measuring those things and building a plan off of what your body's actually showing instead of guessing or not looking at all. I want to be careful here. I'm not telling you that testing fix it— fixes everything. That's not the case. I'm telling you that you cannot address what the body has measured And most of what has actually never been measured can't really be addressed. That's a, a different situation. So whether you're a few months, a year, 5 years, 10 years, 15 years out, it's not too late. What I'm describing is not a surgical window. It's a health workup, and that doesn't expire. Make a point to learn more about Charcot. People, you know, think of this as just surgical preparation because that's how I've usually talked about it, but genetics don't change. Inflammation can continually be assessed at any point. I really favor a toxicity test. Metabolic function can be assessed at points after surgery. Whether your surgery is next month or was a decade ago, the questions are the same. There's really no expiration date on this. There's only whether anyone has actually looked at it critically. So my, you know, message to everybody is stop accepting that your labs are normal as the end of the conversation. Normal on a standard panel and optimal for someone recovering from years of chronic immune system activation are very, very different. And look at and ask for things by categories. Look at things that are, are measured to look at inflammation. Look at your hormones. Look at your nutrient status. Many, many practitioners won't have genetic testing options, but they should. So you want to look at your detox and methylation genetics, and you're definitely allowed to ask any clinician, and then engage with them in a discussion about that. You want to get a baseline before you change things. So we have a very, very standardized approach using the SHARP method of testing and curated supplementation. So supplements and other protocols and interventions without data to me are just really a guessing game.. And you can guess without any intervention by me at all, but I would prefer that everybody have evaluated, looked at it, thought about it, and then began. And ultimately we can go back to those, you know, whether they're inflammation markers or toxin levels or different gut tests. Or hormone levels and see if we're making improvement. Gauge how someone feels. So here's what I want you to take from that. If you've explained, you still don't feel well, that is not your failure and it's not in your head. It's an unanswered series of questions, and the reasons they're unanswered is that they weren't actually evaluated. And that can still be done. It doesn't matter how long it's been. So we're going to take some questions here across all platforms, and then I'm going to go live into Dr. Rob's Circle for a Q&A. So that part is going to be for members only. It's free to join. Click the link in the bio, go to drrobcircle.com. I'll put it in the chats and everything. So I want you to bring your questions, we'll answer them. I'll have a special guest helping me as well. And the way we're gonna run it is, you know, I wanna answer everybody's questions. We'll go for, you know, as long as we need to that's practical. And, you know, obviously, we're not promising that we're gonna solve everybody's, problems. What we want to do is give everybody the opportunity to share. And if you need more information, if you want more information, we can have, uh, you meet with our team for a free discovery call to discuss SHARP. And, uh, once again, uh, it'll be important to come in to the special guest as well. All right, let's take some questions here. Let's go with, let's see, first question can be, oh wow, I have a lot of people on TikTok watching. Be sure to share. Tony C, I have questions about anxiety and physical symptoms. I'm good, Chip. Um, let me see. Uh, let's, let's get a question here. Turk 2012 says she is fighting "The normal lab nightmare now." So blood work is typically very normal, Turk 2012, I'm sorry, Missy. And that's why we don't really focus on it as much. I'm more concerned really with genetics, especially in the specific pathways of detoxification, estrogen metabolism. I link those heavily with toxicity burden testing and gut health is still, I think, a very, very challenging one, but I think in a very important one. And then food sensitivities, hormone balance, those are all really important. There's some other specific testing you can do based on exposures, but those are— where we do a lot of our work. B.1 BYBRI, I had my implants out in January, I'm still feeling fatigued and I've gained 15 pounds since my surgery, is this normal? No, that is not, that is actually the opposite of normal. So in our experience, you lose 10 to 30 pounds running our program in conjunction with surgery, so that's not, accurate. Um, that's very bothersome to me. And that— I thank you so much for that comment because that is not normal. That is not the case. That is not what my patients experience. Not at all. So Missy's got a very good question. She questions if she's MTHFR. So 36% of the population is MTHFR, but in my cases, about 83% of my patients have multiple SNPs in their detox pathways. So Missy, I would say yes, that is likely. And my program is basically set up for someone like you. Um, B.1 BY.BRI, no, that would not be from that. Yes, Missy, we're in Austin, but we work with people all over the country. Yep. That's why we're having the talk tonight, Missy. You need to go to the circle and have a chat. I'm gonna bring a special guest on here in a moment. And let me just double check. I gotta see if she's actually waiting. There she is. I see her. All right, everybody, we're gonna go into the circle. Missy, I want you to drop off a TikTok and go into Dr. Rob's circle so we can actually— Oh, everybody, look. Why can't people go to my bio and figure this out? What the heck? All right. Hmm. I want everybody to go to drrobscircle.com. We're going to do a live Q&A. We have a special guest queued up. I see her on the screen, screen, waiting patiently, and I'm being tardy, but I'm putting all the comments in here again to go to the circle. Oh, I can't thumb type. If y'all knew how bad I am at thumb typing. Oh my goodness. Okay, I want to see everybody hopping in. Um, I'm going to check the live feed. Everybody start— I'm gonna switch over and start the chat in the live feed. I'll start dropping off the streams. Uh, please go into drrobcircle.com If you want to have a live Q&A. All right, y'all, you can move to the live Q&A. I have a special guest who's going to join us. You will not see her on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Rumble, LinkedIn, Facebook. You have to go into the circle. Oh, Danielle, we switched times. We're consistently going to go 7 PM Eastern, 6 PM Central. Hey, Miss Chelsea. Hey, Dr. Rob. How's it going? Well, we're going to see how many people we can scoot over. I'm gonna start dropping, um, people out of the other streams now, so that'll take a few minutes. But bye to everybody on Substack, and I'm gonna say goodbye to everybody on Rumble. Goodbye to everybody on X.
