Understanding Anesthesia: Safety and Myths Explained

For the patients who are concerned about drains and antibiotics. We don't use drains and we don't give anybody any additional antibiotics. Probably the two most frequently asked questions, as well as you're not going to die under anesthesia. I get asked this all the time. Everybody's petrified of anesthesia, and I can't do them awake. I can't do explants awake. So we don't do that. We do fat transfers awake, but not explants. And so I have a very experienced team that's done several thousand of my cases and they would take care of my wife or anybody in my family. So we prepare everybody for surgery. Surgery. So the anxiety about anesthesia and the medications around it, we can answer all those questions. I've done podcasts about them with the president of the group we use for anesthesia, but it's a very safe and very intentional way we go about it. We try to do everything up front to reduce nausea, inflammation, really try to calm the nervous system down, because that's a huge deal.
