A conversational YouTube interview (Feb 27, 2025) about the bidirectional relationship between gut health and emotional/mental well-being. Speakers highlight gut–brain crosstalk, the neuroimmunoendocrine axis (nervous system, immune/inflammation, endocrine/hormones), and how unresolved trauma can manifest physically. They recommend a comprehensive 'both/and' approach—combining physical, emotional, and practical steps (prioritizing, using tools/resources).
And I see people kept back and.
Stuck at these roadblocks.
With their healing.
Because they haven't faced it.
And it's.
One of the reasons my most recent book was called Gut Feelings for that reason.
Because we dealt with both the gut.
And the feelings and this bidirectional crosstalk between the physical. Physicals impact on the mental, emotional, spiritual. And then how does the spiritual, the.
Feelings of gut.
Feelings impact our physical health? Because it's something that I see play out in people's lives all the time. And look, you don't necessarily have to deal with it at the same time.
Sometimes it's a lot.
It's overwhelming. That's clinically.
What we can do is kind of.
Or prioritize.
What needs to be done.
And do it in a realistic, practical way. For somebody is kind of learning about this on their own, you know, just to be aware of the fact that.
This could be a piece of the.
Puzzle for you and then lean into resources, lean.
Into tools to.
Start to face these.
These challenges that can keep people back.
Because it trains that neuroimmuno endocrine axis, that intersection between your nervous system, the immune system, that is inflammation and the.
Endocrine system, somebody's hormones.
A lot of people are in that sympathetic fight or flight tone where that's impacting their body, where, yeah, maybe it's the breast implant, maybe it's environmental toxins, but maybe it also is unresolved trauma.
And we have to look at this.
Sort of comprehensively and have a both and not either or approach when it comes to understanding that mental health.
