Short promotional/testimonial YouTube video (uploaded by Rob Langman, 2015-05-28) showing students and a teacher describing Third Space Learning's one-to-one maths tutoring. Speakers highlight that the tutoring is affordable for schools, gives pupils private, targeted help when they struggle, builds confidence, and leads to clearer use of mathematical language and improved classroom performance.
With third space, they've got this one to one tutor. They can talk to them if they get something wrong, no one actually hears it apart from the tutor, and they can sort the space out really simply and easily. So this time we thought 20 children, we put into it third space. It's ideal for them. It's quite cheap to get a one to one tutor, which you couldn't really get if you pay privately. We just thought it was a great resource to use.
OK, Tyler, tell me one thing. Why have you added 10 here?
Four. You.
Cannot.
Take.
Nine away from four. So then you add the 10 to help you when it takes away the nine. You are absolutely correct. You have a good understanding about this. My tutor was fine and he helped me a lot when I was struggling and then he.
Said.
He'Ll help me in the next lesson. She's really kind and helps me a lot with my maths.
She doesn't get upset when I ask her a lot of questions as the sessions have gone on. I think for me, the thing that I've noticed as their class teacher is that it means they have to use their language around math. That, for me has just been amazing. And in terms of impact out of those sessions in our math lessons, now the children are telling me more and more confidently and easily how they know something.
