This is an excerpt from a YouTube testimonial (speaker: Liz Avery, Math Instructional Coach at Renaissance Academy) describing their experience with the Third Space Learning tutoring program. The school worked with 24 Third Space tutors supporting 24 students (12 fourth- and 12 fifth-graders) selected via i-Ready and in-house assessments to target students near proficiency. Reported outcomes: every participant improved between pre- and post-tests and survey responses were strongly positive—students liked one-on-one, computer-based tutoring and felt their math skills improved.

We still just have lots of gaps in student understanding, and there's not enough time and resources to get all of those gaps filled. Thirdspace solves that problem, because we have 24 tutors right now working with students, and we would never have that amount of resources to do that in house. This year, we were able to do 24 students and 12 fourth graders and 12 fifth graders. We selected them by looking at iready data, our in house assessment data, kind of seeing what students were really on the cusp of proficiency that just could need a little extra boost. And last year, of all the students that were in the session, everyone increased their pre and post test scores. And all of the, like, survey data was really good. Kids really liked it. They liked working one on one. They loved, like, being on the computer with a tutor. They all said that they felt like they got better at math.
