This New INSANE Cold Email Method books 50+ calls per month for my AI agency

Rory Ridgers books 50+ qualified calls monthly by inviting prospects onto a short podcast instead of cold pitching them directly. He walks through the full system: building lead lists, crafting a four-pillar email invite, setting up sending infrastructure with warm-up, using an AI SDR to book intro calls, and converting 90-95% of podcast guests into discovery calls.

I've been booking a crazy amount of leads for my AI agency using this one cold email strategy that no one seems to be talking about. And in this video, I'm going to give you the exact same strategy so you can use it for your own agency. I've been able to book 50+ meetings a month and even booking 5 meetings on the first day that I started running this campaign. So without further ado, let's jump into the video and I can spill the beans on the exact method that I've been using. Okay, so the method that I've been using is called the Podcast Cold Email System, and it's built around giving first and then selling, rather than just trying to pitch to everyone that you reach out to. So instead of cold emailing businesses and just trying to pitch them, which is probably something we've all done— I know that's something that I've tried to do before and it didn't work at all— instead of doing that, I reach out to them and invite them onto a podcast. And so the podcast invite actually turns into the outreach, and the recording and the talking to them during this podcast turns into our kind of discovery call or sales call. So that is the system in itself. And right now you might be a little bit confused and think, what's he talking about? I don't want to start a podcast. That sounds like some big crazy thing that I've got to do. Trust me, it's not. So I'm gonna break down this full method now and you'll see how easy it is to get set up with it. So one of the biggest things to think about, and the reason why this method works so well, is just that every inbox is like a war zone, right? I'm a business owner, I get a million emails a day of people trying to pitch me, uh, thumbnail design, video editing, lead gen, everything. I never reply to any of them unless they have an absolute bulletproof offer where they're pretty much working for free, or they have some insane case studies. That's only ever when I give them the time of day. And that's the same for pretty much every business owner, if you've tried cold email before, you know that you're just another one of these emails that is just landing in their inbox and they don't even open it. They just delete it because they know it's going to be some pitch. And the difference with this system is a pitch-take. So you're taking from them, or you're trying to take from them, trying to sell to them. No one likes being sold to. But with an invite onto a podcast, you're giving. It's like an invitation to them. You're actually giving something to them for free, giving them value and not just pitching. So instead of saying, hi, can I sell you something? Which obviously no one says that in cold email, but that is effectively what you're saying. You know that the business owner you're reaching out to knows that. Instead of saying, hey, instead of just saying, hi, can I sell you something? You know it's going to get deleted, no one's going to reply. You invite them onto the podcast, say, want to come onto my show? You can see the difference here. People are going to reply to this, no one's going to reply to that. So the reason it works, kind of what I've mentioned, is it's a gift. You're giving something. You're not just asking for things from them. You're not asking for their money or to jump on a call for your own benefit. You're giving something to them. And also, you get 40 minutes with your buyer. So the podcast that we run— we'll get into this later— the podcast that we run, about 40 minutes long, You get 40 minutes talking to your ideal client. And also just another cool thing is you're removing that friction of jumping on a call. 'Cause when you say jump on a call with someone, that fires off all the signals in their head that says, I'm being sold to. But part of your offer here, you have to jump on a call, right? 'Cause you're doing a podcast with them. It's a virtual podcast. You have to jump on a call. So you're getting around that instantly. So just to show you that basically this works, right? These are some of the campaigns we've run. You can see here 420 opportunities down here, like 166, 213, 103. You can see these campaigns aren't running for very long. And to really drive it home for you, these are the campaigns that I'm actually running for my own agency right now. So you can see this one has just been paused, but we sent around 3,000 emails here, got 51 opportunities. And this was only running for about 9 consecutive days, right? We had to turn off on weekends until I could adjust copy and things like that. It was only running for about 9 days and we got 51 opportunities from it. And then we did the exact same thing again. We started this one Fresh new batch of leads, fresh everything. It's been running for about 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7— it's been running for 7 days. We've got 58 opportunities, which is crazy for a brand new campaign, new list of leads, new sending from email inboxes, new copy, new subject lines, new name for the podcast, new everything, right? And we've booked loads of meetings from this. So a breakdown of the whole system, what we're going to be going over in this video is first of all Who do you invite? The second step is the actual invite, and then after that is handling replies and getting them booked in, and then it's the actual podcast, and then it's the transition. Because you're probably wondering, okay, you do a podcast, how do you get clients from this? Well, and we're going to get into that later, but the way it works is you do the podcast and you transition from that podcast into a discovery call and sales call. But don't worry, I'm going to show you how we do that. So step 1, who are you actually inviting? So your guest list is your client list, right? Don't think of this any different to any other cold email campaign. The people that you're having on your podcast last is just going to be your ICP, right? And one of the things that we've seen is the best companies that this works for, as you could probably imagine, is companies that benefit more from being seen in the public eye or having some kind of online presence. So it can absolutely work with any industry, but for example, it's going to work a little bit better with a marketing agency run by like a cool young team compared to a logistics firm run by a 50-year-old man. Like I said, works for both of them, but just to give you an idea, if you need to change up your ICP a little bit, it will probably work better with those kind of companies. So to give you an idea, things like marketing agencies, recruitment companies, event management, local businesses. All of these companies benefit more from being seen in the public eye. So an example ICP that we've run that works really, really well is marketing agencies with a headcount of about 10 to 50, doing revenue of anywhere from like $500K to $10 mil a year, um, and then the role is going to be like the CEO or the founder, right? For companies of these sizes, you're only going to be really wanting to talk to the decision makers, so like the CEO, the founder, the owner, whatever they call themselves. And then to actually build the list. Again, this is just standard to like every other cold outreach campaign, but the way that we do it is we go over to Apollo and then we build our list. We put in all of the filters with like the company size, the industry, the location, everything like that. We grab that URL and then we go over something called Export Apollo, which is going to be way cheaper than Apollo. It costs about $3 per 1,000 leads. So bit of sauce there if you want to check that out. That's what we use. You can use any scrapers you like, but that's how we do it. Just quickly, guys, if you want to grab all of the resources and templates and actual scripts that we use to run this method and basically get like a full playbook on how to actually run this method with a full video course and all the resources that we use. I'll leave a link to the school community in the description of this video so you can go ahead and join that. By the way, it is the cheapest it's ever going to be. So if you want to jump in there now, you can get the founder price locked in forever because pretty soon it's going to be going up because of the amount of value that's in there. Okay, then section 2 of this is going to be the actual invites. How do you get these people on a podcast? So the way that you're going to get them to say yes is if when you reach out to them First of all, it's got to be flattering, right? So they've got— you've got to stroke their ego a little bit. It's got to be flattering for them. The second one, it's got to be easy, so it doesn't have to sound like some massive commitment for them. You've got to make it out that it's very easy, it's going to be super relaxed. The third thing is they get the content. It's going to be the biggest thing, like they get access to this content. You're going to send them over the clips, you're going to send them over the raw recording. They can use it on their socials, on their website. They have full access to it. And the fourth one is just curiosity. So they're going to be thinking Why me? What's on this show? Why did they want to talk to me? Why did they want to know about my company? Those are kind of like the 4 pillars of how to actually write the cold email. And then the subject line, we just use simple things like company name, uh, on my podcast, or join our podcast, or first name podcast question mark. So like super simple, but it's just enough to give them like enough curiosity to click on the email because that's all the subject line's doing. And then the actual anatomy of the invites, when I say invite This just means like the email body that you're sending over, the anatomy, is just going to be like who you are and the show. So like, hey, my name's Rory, I run a podcast called XYZ where we talk to founders just like you, all of that kind of stuff. And then why them? So we've been following what you've been doing, we love what you're doing with XYZ. This is the part where you like stroke their ego a little bit, you know, like we love working with companies like yours, we've had great conversations with people just like you. And then step 3 there is going to be the ask. So it's just going to be, come on, for a quick relaxed chat and we'll send you over all of the clips. That's your offer, right? It's just a relaxed chat, it's a podcast, and we're just going to send you over all the clips. Then what's in it for them is going to be they walk away with a full episode plus all the clips. They can use our branding on their website, on their socials. They can use all the clips, the raw recording. They get full access to everything. And then an extra little bit of sauce here, make sure you save this— the follow-ups. A lot of our, uh, actual bookings have come from follow-ups, and the killer follow-up that we use is super simple.. It's literally just after you sent that first email, maybe they don't reply but they've seen it, right? You just say first name. So Dave, Dave, any thoughts on this? Sent from my iPhone. So actually type out sent from my iPhone and it just makes it seem like way more human and natural. And about half of our bookings have come from this one follow-up. So little bit of sauce for you guys there. And then the actual sending setup, again, if you've done cold email, this stuff is pretty standard. So we're gonna have separate domains, separate inboxes. The number of inboxes that you grab is completely up to you. We go to a platform called PureMail to get our inboxes, and then you warm them up. So Instantly kind of does this for you, uh, you can put them in there, Instantly will warm them up for you. And then a sensible number of inboxes per day. So we send around 20 to 25 emails per inbox per day. So of course it just depends how many emails you want to send a day, that is going to correlate to how many inboxes and how many domains you're going to get. Okay, now step 3 is the replies. How do you turn the replies into booked calls? So we have an AI SDR that books them all in for us, which is pretty sweet. Means the system runs basically on autopilot. So just watches every reply, simple AI SDR, right? Watches every reply, looks at all the interested ones, and then just simply sends them over a booking link. Or if they ask for more information, it'll send over our website plus a booking link as well. Basically, it just books them in for what we call an intro call. So you don't jump straight to the podcast, you do an intro call with them, which is like a 15-minute chat where you can vet them, you can set them up for the podcast, make sure they're prepared, actually book up the podcast, um, on that call there. So now you've got your AI SDR booking them all in for intro calls. You run the intro calls where you, like I said, very simple, you just vet them, set them up for the podcast, actually book up the podcast there. And then now step 4 is how do you actually do this podcast? So run it like a real show. Don't think about selling them or being salesy. Think about it as literally just a natural conversation with these people. So let them talk. People love to talk about themselves, right? Everyone loves to talk about themselves. So let them talk. Be genuinely curious about them. So like I said, you're not trying to like sell them or anything like that. You're trying to be genuinely curious. You're trying to basically just get them to talk as much as possible and also give real value as well. So, you know, give your own insight on stuff. Don't just sit there and listen to them, and also don't just talk at them the whole time. Let them talk, be curious about what they're talking about, and give them value. So jump in when it feels right. And if you're curious about like how do we actually— like the infrastructure to run these, we use a platform called Riverside, which feels like a little bit like a Google Meet if you use Google Meet before, but it's kind of built for like podcasts, webinars, that kind of thing, right? So basically just records the meeting for you. It looks a lot more professional and it makes it really easy to send over the content to the person after. An important thing, kind of like a framework that we use, is like listening for this gap in there. And we have like an anchor question framework that we use as well. But basically you want to listen for like the biggest thing, right? Like I said, we have this anchor question framework where you ask them these anchor questions that basically uncover like their biggest bottleneck in their business and the biggest opportunity for you to come in. And you're going to want to listen to that throughout the 40 minutes or just throughout this podcast. Um, and basically note that down because you're going to come back to that later. And then step 5 here is the transition. So how do you transition them from this podcast actually into a client? So what we do is at the end of the podcast, you do the podcast with them, right? 40-minute podcast or half an hour, an hour, whatever you decide to do. And then you, you know, you hit the record button, so you stop recording. You say, thank you so much for coming, had such a great time, yada yada. Um, and then right at the end you say By the way, that thing you said about XYZ, that thing you said about your salespeople, you know, missing follow-ups with leads, we actually solved that exact issue for companies like yours. And they'll sort of go, oh really, that's interesting, right? Because you've got to remember, by this time you're pretty much best friends with these people because you've just done this full podcast with them. So they trust you, they like you. And then after that you say, do you want me to show you how maybe like we'd approach it? Maybe we just jump on another call, see how we'd help you, or see how we've done it for other clients, and they'll just go like, yeah, like the conversion rate for this is almost 100% because there's no real reason for them to not just jump on another call with you. You don't call it a discovery call, we just say to them, do you want to jump on another call? Maybe we can chat about this. And then you book up that discovery call, and this is just a discovery call, right? You book up that discovery call. On that call with them, so you say, hey, what about, um, you know, tomorrow at 2 PM, right? Should we book that in? You've already got their email and everything like that, so you book them in. And then from there It's just a discovery call. So you already know a decent amount about their business, but in that discovery call, you're going to dive more into that specific issue that you uncovered. And then after that, it's just scoping it out, doing a proposal, and then jumping on a sales call. So just your standard, like, discovery call, sales call framework. And that is pretty much it. I'm not going to do a full thing here on, like, how to run discovery calls and sales calls. We can do that in a separate video. But this is how you actually get them onto these discovery calls and sales calls and then close them. And then the system kind of compounds because when you book calls, of course you get clients and you get referrals and then you get more guests. So they're going to refer other people to come on your podcast. And then also the more podcasts you do, you can build a website, more credibility, and then you're going to get even more guests. And it's not even just from cold email, you're going to have inbound people coming onto your podcast and becomes this whole kind of like flywheel because it's all about content, right? You're doing this podcast, you're making content, but also signing clients, and they both kind of go hand in hand. So the whole system from a bird's eye view is just It's about who you invite, the actual invite, how you turn replies into booked calls, and then running the actual podcast and then transitioning them from the podcast into a signed client. So that is the entire system, and that is what we have been running. Like I said, it works insanely well. We're booking so many calls from this. And one of the main things that I hear people say is like, does it not seem sort of like sleazy or salesy, or will they not feel like they've been tricked or anything like that? And the answer No, they don't. Like, you get on this call with them, you do the podcast. When you transition to a discovery call, it almost feels like their choice. We've had so many people that— because of course on the podcast we talk about ourselves a little bit, right, just naturally— we've had so many people that have actually asked us to jump on another call because they think that we can help them. So we haven't even had to pitch the discovery call to them. Of course you get some people, right, like in anything, you get some people that maybe don't want to jump on the discovery call. But I can confidently say that it's around like 90-95% of people jump on another call with you because there's no real reason for them not to. Don't say it's a discovery call or make it salesy. Just say, do you want to jump on another call? Because we could probably help you with that. We've helped other people with that. And by the way, guys, like I said, if you want way more in-depth information on this and also get all of the frameworks and resources and everything that we actually use to run this system, I'll leave a link in the description. You can join the community and get full access to this, as well as being able to talk to me and ask me any questions. And we do weekly group calls in there, so you can ask any questions you like. And you have full support while you're trying to build this system out.
