Short YouTube clip (two speakers) forecasting business and cultural trends for 2026: an emerging ‘unplugging’ movement led by Gen Alpha (and spreading across generations), growth in experiential, phone-free events, and new gig-style services (example: being paid to walk with people). The excerpt highlights observations and brief anecdotes aimed at business audiences.
Number 2 Biggest trend 2026 the unplugging of Gen Alpha which is an indicator to the unplugging of every generation. Starting in.
2026 you'll see more businesses like this. I.
Just talked about a business where you get paid to walk with people. Like literally walk with.
Paid.
To walk. I believe what you'll see and you're already seeing it I think experiential music festivals, going outside, going to events, going out and putting the phone away. The forcing of the D plug is now starting to really happy and more importantly the choosing to de plug is happening.
Yeah, I'm seeing this with my own kids. Their school actually recently forced them to keep their phones in their lockers and at first everybo freaked out and after a couple weeks they really liked it. The problem is I'm not really seeing it with the old people and that's how you can tell if a trend is a fad or if it's a trend that's going to stick. Kind of all my old friends, they're still doom scrolling, you know, day in and day out. I think the biggest trend that shift that we're going to see in 2026 is companies starting to treat AI like an employee within their own business. So AI actually occupying spaces on an org chart as opposed to it simply just being a tool that they are using. I know that's how we treat it here. We're creating these hybrid org charts and the people I know who are the furthest along they're treating AI like employees. So that's what I'd look for in 2026.
