The 3.3 Rule uses three work styles (sprinter, jogger, Zen master) to help you time-block. Pick block lengths up to three hours based on what you're doing, not a fixed schedule. Some tasks bore you after an hour, others hold you for three.

I like the way in the book where you talked about sort of the 3 examples around the sprinter, the jogger, and the Zen master of like how long do you want to do the, the block. But the idea of kind of laying out these different options, but then also just saying to people, I'm not saying you have to stick to one all day or all the time. It's saying whatever happens to work. And particularly when you think about that, you know, the reality is Different tasks require us to engage in different ways. There's some things where there's no way it would be possible to not be bored out of your brain if you did it for more than an hour. And then other things, you get so consumed that 3 hours can go like that. So I think having the model in your mind and kind of going, okay, it's the up to 3 hours, and then depending what you're doing, you can kind of chop and change.
