AI tools let engineers ship way more code, but product managers and designers get overwhelmed deciding what to build next. Without clear direction, teams waste the speed gains by looping on the same work and experimenting without purpose.
With AI, it, most PMs and designers will tell you, it feels like it's 1 to 30, 1 to 40, because engineers are churning through a lot more work. So they're coming back to me to like, what are we doing next? Is this the right thing? And so that becomes even more important to ensure that those that are in positions of steering are making sure they're getting the highest leverage. If that person who's supposed to be steering is vibe coding, they're spending no time actually directing the ship. And what we thought was immediate speed gains, and we did get immediate speed gains, crashed very quickly for most of these teams that we deployed because they were spinning in circles and no one was making the decisions on some of the key things we needed to do.
