This is a first-person YouTube monologue by Jordan, a native Hawaiian from Oʻahu, addressing the devastating Lahaina fires in Maui and urging tourists who have booked trips to postpone travel so local resources can focus on displaced families and recovery. Jordan emphasizes that visiting now diverts attention and resources from missing persons and survivors, asks viewers to donate to relief funds instead, and says links will be placed in the uploader's bio.

Hi, everyone. My name is Jordan, and I'm a native Hawaiian that was born on the island of Oahu and I've lived here all my life. This is not the type of content that I usually post. I usually. I usually post a lot of stupid shit. But we're changing it up today. For those of you that don't already know, there's been a devastating fire that has taken place on the island of Maui in Lahaina, and there's been an outcry from locals there. For other people who have booked their trips, whether it be from the US Whether it be from other countries, to please put your vacations on hold. I understand that it's frustrating. I understand that maybe this is a trip for your wedding. This is a trip for something else, like your anniversary or a birthday or just a vacation to get away from your daily lives. I get it. It's frustrating to cancel a trip that you've put in so much thought to. The reason why locals are saying this is because we need a break. The island of Maui cannot focus on tourists and giving our resources to people who are flying in from other places when we have so many families who are displaced, who are broken because of this fire. And the sad thing is, is that there's so many people. There's so many people still unaccounted for. And I know that death rate is going to increase over the next couple of days because they're still pulling bodies out of the ocean, out of the rubble. We're not asking you to stay away for good. We're not asking you to cancel and never come back. We're just asking you to do it later. We're just asking you to come later. That way we can focus on these families, on these businesses, on these people who have lost everything. I get that your wedding might have been ruined or that your birthday is now not going to be as fun as you thought it was going to be. But there are people who will literally never have a birthday or a wedding or any. There have been people who lost their lives, and they will never get to experience these things we who are living are experiencing. I'm sorry that your plans have been ruined, but I'm not sorry for asking you to stay away. I'm not sorry for asking for you to put your trip on hold. And for those of you who want to say that tourism will give us money, like, that's not the point. Guys, if you think that giving money will help, please donate to these relief funds that they have. If you want to help out There are more than enough different charities, different. Different sources that you can reach out to to be like, hey, I do want to help. I do want to give my money. You can do it that way. But please don't think just because you're coming here is helping, because it's not. Please let Maui just recover. Please let us just find our family's bodies. Please let us rebuild a little. Before coming back to Maui, I saw on social media someone saying, wow, where's the aloha? Now all these locals are telling us not to come back. I guess they didn't want our money. Guys, we just want to find those thousands of people who are probably, I'm sorry to say, but passed. We want to account for all of those who are missing. We want to. We want to help those families who are struggling and who need the resources first. Coming here takes that focus and gives us more of a burden that we need to deal with while dealing with this devastating situation. Please rebook those trips. I understand it's frustrating, but think of these families who are going through way more frustration than you are, way more heartbreak. Please give us a break. And that's all I'm asking. That's all we are asking of you, is to give us a break. Thank you to those who listen or watch. And if you folks do want to help, I'll go ahead and put a link in my bio that'll have a bunch of links for different organizations that you can donate to. But thank you again.
