Web3 and You

Sandra Abrams, a senior, cuts through Web3 hype to explain what's actually happening: artists selling NFTs, businesses testing blockchain, people using ChatGPT for writing. She says it's still early and not mainstream, and older adults have plenty of time to learn.

You do know web3 is just a buzzword. It's not here. It was a way for big corporations to have the little people get involved. There's a handful of people that are selling their art, that are buying cryptocurrency, that are using these artificial intelligence chat GPTs for emails, writing books, maybe their blogs, maybe they're using it for business, using the blockchain technology for efficiency to be able to keep up with their supply. But it's not prevalent, not mainstream. So don't be afraid. You have so much time to learn things that you need to learn for yourself, for your life in your world. For instance, for me, I'm learning these new social medias and they're just like AOL dial up in those kind of times. Some are better than others, but everything is just starting building. We're making history in a lot of ways. But there's so many people screaming and yelling so loud. You better learn. You better learn. You better learn. You'll learn in time what you need to learn for your life, for what you need. If you want to use chat GPT for emails like they do, I know people who use it. I know people who use chat GPT to help them write contracts, more professional contracts for their business. But you'll learn what you need. So don't be afraid. You're not going to get left behind. As people say, you're early, please. It hasn't even begun. This is the experimental stage, what they call the beta. Not even on. What do you call it? On chain, blockchain. There's very few businesses that use the blockchain, at least if you think about it. Most use computers for efficiency to save time and money. When you call, say, credit card company customer service, it's automated. It's been that way for years. Sometimes you go real person, real person, so you can speak to a real person. Well, that real person may not be the person you want to speak to. You want to do the automation when you're talking on the phone to get through faster, get more accurate information, maybe about your bank account, maybe about, oh, I don't know, your mortgage payments. Those are automated. You've been doing these things for years. It's not Web three, it's still Web two, as people call it. It's just the Internet guys. And the evolution of the Internet has been apparent for so long. Just because things are moving forward doesn't mean you have to move so fast. All these people are running as fast as they can to chatgpt to the big corporations. Microsoft Google that are really experimenting, that are really learning how to do and build these automated applications on the Internet. Yeah, it's not as scary as you think. You're not going to get left behind. You're going to adapt on your own time. You may not understand the world, you may not be able to communicate with your children and grandchildren because they're living on the Internet, but that's okay. You'll be okay. You may not understand how to get things done on the computer when it comes to filling out applications the way they have. Maybe they have you use chat gbt, but that's okay, you don't have to. It's years and away. It's all years away. Everybody's saying learn this stuff so you can make money. Well, that's capitalism, Big C. And that's what's happening. The biggest bull run of capitalistic ways that you can see hidden behind the veil of what they're saying is Web3. It's still being built. There are some decentralized applications, some open sourced protocols, but mostly it's companies making money off of you still. Yeah, a lot of people aren't going to like what I'm saying, but that's okay. Where I am, I'm in some decentralized sources, open source social medias. I am moving forward with my principles. Capitalism. Yeah. I still need to make money. I want to sell you my NFT web 31101 book. I want to learn how to do tokenization for gated rooms for people to get more information than they would if they weren't subscribed. I want to make a living. But I want you to know the truth. I want you to know everything behind the scenes. Don't be afraid. It's okay. It's going to take some time for everybody to settle down with this artificial intelligence and chat GPT. People are screaming regulations, regulations. And they're trying to do regulations for cryptocurrency. Another monetary system, that's not bad. It's just another monetary system. People are using this monetary system of cryptocurrency tokens in a lot of areas, in a lot of countries, very successfully. That's going to take time to adapt to, but you have time. You have all the time in the world. Onward 60 was created to provide education and resources for people who are curious about everything that's happening in the world, curious about these new technologies, especially senior citizens. Because for me being a senior citizen living in South Florida with all the senior citizens around me, people don't want to reach out to us. People want to set us aside. They don't respect the fact that we're still here and still being active and being a part of society. As active as we are, we are a force, and the force that we are, we can learn, we can be a part of ChatGPT, artificial intelligence in our own time. Same thing with cryptocurrency. There's a lot of people my age and older who are using smart contracts to make their art, to sell their art, using cryptocurrency to buy goods, exchange. So, yeah, we're here. We're in the metaverse. Spatial IO onboard 60 experience. That way you can learn how to walk around in the metaverse. It's still on your computer. You can use those Oculus, those headsets. Remember those 3D glasses that you would use in the movie theaters? Same thing. It's not new. It's just different. Being able to be in the metaverse with onboard 60 experience, learning how to walk around, going to galleries, being able to see beautiful art, going a riverboat cruise. Yeah. Having your kids, your grandkids relate to you. You relate to them because, you know, they're digital natives. They're growing up in this world. You can grow with them, go on a riverboat cruise with them, have some time to talk with them. It's their world. Meet them where they are. They meet you where you are almost every Sunday. Right. And besides, you may actually have fun. So take your time. When you're ready, I'm here. Sandra Abrams, senior citizen, walking in the metaverse. Cryptocurrency Web3 decentralized, open sourced. Let's go.
