Sachin Patel presents a short talk contrasting two archetypes: "extractors"—who focus on extracting maximum immediate value and tend to operate from scarcity—and "multipliers"—who focus on generative potential (illustrated by obsessing over planting the orange seed to grow many oranges). The orange-juicing metaphor (juicing pulp vs planting the seed) is used to show scarcity vs long-term abundance mindsets.

Now, there's two types of people in the world, and you're going to encounter these two types of people in your life. Now we get to decide which one we are. Okay, so an extractor is somebody who likes to extract as much information as they possibly can. So I'll use the example of juicing an orange. If you ever juiced an orange, right, you realize that you can't get all the juice. And so an extractor tries to get as much of the juice as they possibly can, right? Remember when I had a juicer, I would juice the pulp twice because I was such an extractor. And we're speaking metaphor. A multiplier, on the other hand. So an extractor, because they can't get all the juice, they always kind of live in a sense of lack, right? Of scarcity. A multiplier, on the other hand, extracts as much juice as they can. But what they obsess over is not the juice. They obsess over the seed in the orange. Because that seed, if we plant it and we take care of it, can eventually turn into an orange tree, can't it? And then we have unlimited oranges and unlimited.
