All right. Hello, Living Proof community, and happy, happy Monday. My name is Alice and I am the health coach running the Living Light Reset program at the Living Proof Institute. And today I'm with a really exciting client, my awesome client and friend Douglas. And Douglas here has recently completed his journey on the Living Light Reset program. And additionally, he has finished our virtual group program accelerator to get his business off and running and be able to do online and have freedom. And today I am really excited he is here with us to share a little bit more about both his health journey and additionally his business journey and how he was able to release £23 in the last 12 weeks and counting. So I want to say a big round of applause for Douglas.
All right, thank you so much, Alison.
Thank you so much for being here today. And I would love to know what initially brought you to the Living Proof Institute.
Well, my wife found Sachin on. I. I can't remember where, but on something, Facebook or. Or something. And got tuned into him and then we started to listen together. And, you know, we've had a wellness clinic, brick and mortar wellness clinic here in Austin, Texas, Tiger Lily wellness and acupuncture for more than 20 years. And, you know, like we said, we've been one. We've been one at a time in it now for a long time, and I'd just like to help more people in a group setting. And we considered another company, but I wanted to talk to Sachin and get a feel for him and, you know, he's just such a warm and sweet soul that I. And I liked him as a person, you know, like to hang out with him, be friends. And I said, okay, I think I want to do. Go with this guy, you know, and. And Vanessa felt really strongly to go with Sasha to begin with. So we put our heads together and decided to go this route. And, and it's been great, you know, got to meet all kinds of cool people and, and, and the information's phenomenal, so. And, and look, the metabolic reset works. It works. It's like a great recipe. Follow the recipe. Yeah.
Thank you for sharing that. And I'm so glad that it resonated with you so, so authentically as well. And what was it that put you over the edge to join, whether it be both health wise or whether it be business wise and wanting that group program. What resonated with you in Jamie?
I think for me, what resonates for me is, is having a second chapter in healthcare delivery. You know, I do a lot of stuff at the office and help People in a lot of different ways, but taking it to the next level and being able to help 20, 30, 40, 50 people at a time to achieve a greater state of health. And I, you know, in a lot of ways, not just weight, I mean, like I've been telling people, look, the number, the weight, the size of you is really, truly, it really is. It's just the icing on the cake. The cake really is how you feel, what's your inflammation like, what's your mind like, what's your brain like? You know, how are your joints feeling? You know, how much more active are you? You know, how much more do you look forward to your day? That's priceless. No matter your size. And most people, including myself, that was. I was a good 15, consistently 15 to 25 pounds overweight for since my 30s. And I did a lot of cleanses, you know, and I would do these months long cleanses and I would drop the weight and I just found myself yo yoing and. But doing this, it was different. But what really, what was the real, like what got me over the edge was I can help more people. It could be a kind of a reinvention of what I'm doing and leverage. It's a way to leverage what I know and deliver that to a greater number at the same time while providing me geographical freedom. And I see with my wife's. Vanessa's brilliant and she's just awesome. And with the two of us working together, I think we can achieve financial freedom faster than we would have doing the clinic. And so I think that it was a geographical and financial freedom and being able to help more people.
Beautiful. I love that and I love how that is the center, you know, in wanting to help your community, but additionally having those wonderful goals for yourself. And there's room to do both, which is, which is the awesome part. And I would love to know what you found different about this approach compared to what you have tried in the past. Whether it be, you know, different mentorships potentially, whether it be, you know, different because I know you mentioned juice cleanses as well and going through some of that. What did you find different about this approach?
Well, the cleanses that I've always did in the past were, were really great and, and they worked right. It was a 21 day cleanse. It just, it worked fine. But what I, what was different about this? I mean, whereas that would. You basically do a calorie restriction for a period of time, you would take some supplements and you know, you would, you know, things would change and it was fine. And it was. It was a really good tool for 10 to 15 pounds every time you did it, you know, And. And it would help to break up habits because, you know, if you do anything for new for 30 days, you kind of establish a new habit, and you can break old habits in the same regard. Right? So, you know, but what was different about this was how complete it was, okay? Because look, that is just food. Just straight food. That's it. So, yeah, so this also has the food piece, okay. And that's where everybody gets stuck. But I think that they're really kind of, kind of focusing on the. The. They're focusing on the what they don't get instead of what they. What they do get, you know, and what they have to give up versus what they get to enjoy. And. And. And that's it. And so when you start to understand with the metabolic reset, like all of the pieces, focusing on sleep, focusing on mindset, and, like, mindset is what I've been working on for a long time. I meditate and I've been doing a lot of, you know, work in that regard anyway. But I love that that was one of the big pieces. When I saw that, I was like, oh, oh, my gosh. Like, that's included. Like, what's that going to be about? And then when you find that, you know, if you're in a state of stress, your body's not going to drop anyway. So. And. And you learn that, you're like, say what? You know, if I starve myself, I'll drop weight. Like, oh, you'll drop it. And then as soon as you start eating, you'll gain it right back because the stress hasn't changed. So the recipe is a huge. There's a lot of meaning behind that. That way, the meaning of it, like, that word carries a lot of weight. And, and boy, with. With this, it really, really carries a lot of weight because you follow the recipe more oftentimes than not, the dish is going to turn out great. And this time you're cooking you. So why not follow the recipe and make the best you. You can? And that's what I did. And it came out. It came out. It came out exactly like you said it would. And you encouraged me in some tough moments that, you know, and that was great. So it was great. That's what was different was it was. It was more. It was a more complete recipe. And folks, I only talked about two of the. Of the ten different things, and so there's a lot of other ones, too. But, yeah, it was really great.
So, yeah, thank you so much for sharing that, and I would love to know some of the results that you were able to get as a part of going through both the virtual group program accelerator, but additionally the reset as well.
So the results. Okay, so it's so funny, because we were talking, I just happened to have this page of paper that's all my results on it. Right. So, yeah, I dropped the mount. The amount of weight. My, you know, everything changed. My neck dropped a half inch, as did my arms and my chest. My actually, my chest actually grew because I got, you know, as I dropped the weight, something incredible happened. You know, in Chinese medicine, when you're overweight, they call it dampness, accumulation, and think of dampness like a foggy. Like a foggy afternoon or foggy morning. You know, light can't penetrate it. Right. Drive in a fog at nighttime, your lights just don't go very far. How much energy and how up for you for working out or exercising when you're overweight? Usually not that much. It's a struggle. You have to convince yourself to do it. And I found that as I lost the weight, which, by the way, was retrospectively pretty effortless. It was with focused intent, but it didn't take a lot of work. Again, just follow the recipe and it just falls off. I found myself wanting to work out. And remember, I was even talking to you about it, like, oh, man, it's like I'm doing these workouts, and I'm like, I just don't have the calories to do it. You said, okay, we'll just slow down. Don't do so much. And so you helped me through that phase because we don't want to put ourselves into a state of stress during it. Right. So as I got out of the release phase and into the maintenance phase, I started to increase a little bit of protein, and I had plenty of energy to work out. And then what do you know? You know, my. My kids are looking at me going, wow, you look different. And my. My. My wife is saying that, and I'm like. I'm like, leave me alone. Leave me alone. You know, so I'm just joking. But it. But, you know, it's. It's. It was great. I mean, I. I feel as though when I look in the mirror, who's looking back at me as who I've been looking for for a really, really long time? And at 51 years old, man, I. I don't know many guys my age that get to get to go through that at least I haven't seen guys my age in my clinic in 20 years that gets to say that. So that's my biggest thing that I'm grateful for is I get to see the me I've wanted to see for a really long time. And I think dropping that, dropping the, the weight and understanding why that was accumulating and understanding how to get it off and keep it off has been incredible. So that's pretty cool.
That is so powerful. And it's something, you know, it's so beyond the number on a scale. You know, it's. Of course, we look and we look to that goal initially and we think, you know, when I release £10 or £15, I'm going to be happier and everything in my life is going to go better. But it's really addressing that root and seeing exactly where that stems from. And just like you said, you know, things just melt away once you kind of take that full body approach and to follow that recipe. Just so beautiful. So much insight, so powerful. So thank you so much for sharing all of that. And you're welcome. Yeah, my. Thank you. I would love to know how have things changed for you in your life since starting this program, both professionally and I guess, personally?
Well, gosh, you know, what ownership and authenticity, you know, when you're, when you're a health care provider and you're carrying around a little bit of, well, let's just say you're larger than life. You know, you need to, you need to get a little less larger than life. And I mean, look, it's only 15 or 20 pounds, but I mean, it shows, right? And as I'm, as I'm now, I'm walking the walk. And I was walking the walk before, but I just was limited as to how I could get there. And when I learned the keys that unlock those potential loss or gains in my regard in terms of health that ended up as losses in weight, it happened. And now when I speak, I'm finding my words hold, hold more, they're more powerful. I feel more, more authentic, which is communicate, which is kind of communicated in the business that I have is more solid. It's better. I'm getting on with patients better. My mind is cleared up. You mentioned brain fog in the beginning. That's one of the things that has really been concerning, you know, with all this talk of, you know, dementia and pre dementia and everything. I mean, I've eaten, I've been paleo now for 12 years, so I don't do a lot of carbs. You Know, but I still was having a little bit of brain fog. And so when you start counting and weighing things, it really puts things into a much greater perspective. So I. I lowered the carbs a little bit, and. And that, I think, liberate a little bit of, you know, fungal load in my system. And. Yeah. And I just. And again, with the weight going away, toxicity goes down. You know, you store so many toxins and fat, and so when you drop that weight, your toxin level goes down, and I just feel cleaner and better. Yeah. So did that answer your question?
Definitely the question. It was awesome. I loved it. I love hearing all of that. And I know there's been so many wins. Both you and Vanessa have been able to, you know, take advantage of as a part of the program and how awesome it is to have that support, you know, to have it be a full family affair in that way. So I'm so grateful that you both have been able to be on this journey together, and it'd be that much more impactful and now live life large, but not in the same way that it was previously.
Yeah. I was looking at my waist. My waist and measurement went from 38.5 to 35. And now I think it's more like 34. Like, I have a problem now, Alice. I went through this program. I have to go shopping, buy new clothes. Clothes. Like, none of my not. I have gone down in every size, shirts, suits, everything. It's just less and less and less, which is cool. It's great. But, you know. Yeah, it's good. It's really good.
It's awesome. And now, just like you said, you know, the person that you're meant to be, now you can buy that wardrobe of that person that, you know, you've been waiting to see be reflected back at you. And now you're here, you know, and what a great way to anchor in that progress that you've made in such a relatively short period of time. I think you deserve it. I think you should celebrate yourself with the new wardrobe.
There you go. There you go. Yeah. Yeah, It's. It's happening slowly but surely. Yeah. Yeah. And I think. And I think if I look at that, most of these games or most of my wins with this were within four weeks. Is that right? I mean, maybe. Maybe five. But it just four to five. Yeah.
For sure.
Melted off. Boom. It was gone. I was like, wow. And. Yeah. And that whole loading phase, folks. I'm gonna lean in now. You think the loading phase is going to be the best thing ever? Let's Talk on day three.
Talk to me once you've done the first. Oh, man.
I don't want to look at it. I didn't want to look at food. I was like, I struggled to get. Yeah, I, I, I, I really, I could not. What was it? It was 4, 4,000 or 5,000 calories. I couldn't even get close. I don't do carbs. And I was like, how am I gonna get that much food in me? And, and it's like, I couldn't, you know, just. And I was eating sweet potatoes like they were going out of style. And it's still like, oh my gosh, I can't.
Yeah, here you are on the other end now.
Oh, yeah.
Being able to release additional pounds as well, which is contrary to what you would think with the first two days and how they're set up, which is so cool. It's just a complete different paradigm terms of mindset, which is so awesome. And to be able to present that and it be a formula that works, which is really exciting too. So how has this changed the way you think you're going to practice moving forward?
Well, you know, a lot of people come to me, especially in the last couple years with all this health crisis stuff. They come to us a lot for stress, for sleep and a whole slew of other things. And, and we have a different take on it now. I mean, I do, I completely do. You know, and look, if they're struggling with weight and they're really stressed out and they're tired, you know, just reading a great book, well, it's not here right now, but all about the mitochondria. And, and you know, they, the mitochondria can only do, you know, it can either make energy or it can, you know, try to preserve the cell from dying. And if it senses a stressful situation, it's going to do the survival part. And so you're going to be tired. And I mean, just like, you know, and, and I heard about him through Sashin and so like the, the connection, the, you know, what the, the intrinsic value that the community provides, I don't know if you could put a price on. I think that the cost of, of, of, of having the, you know, being a part of the community and going through the coaching, you know, getting to do the accelerator, I was like, oh, hey, you want to do this too? I mean, the accelerator was incredible. That really, I mean, we, we're, we've just launched our program. You know, we signed up at, in February and we launched it this past weekend and think about that. That's a. That's a short run, you know, and going through the program and doing it, I mean, it just. It's. It's changed everything. It's really changed my focus on how to help manage people from. From where they're at to where they need to go and how all these things play such a key role. You know, we've. We've. We've always talked about, you know, mindset, but really not emphasized it enough. Now it's, you know, morning routines, you know, are. Yeah, that's the beginning of success for a human being, you know, and you shared that with me and emphasized that with me, and it was great. It was just super, super great. So that's how it's changed. I've really. I've really gone through a big transition in that regard in terms of. I've known these things, but the way that I implemented them and the way I will implement them going forward is completely different. Yeah. So at the end result, look, I hope to help more people quicker, I guess, and more quickly and more fully. How about that?
Love that. I love that message. And let's spread it to your wonderful community there in Austin. And they're going to be so blown away with how much you've grown, even from, like you said, February till now, and being able to harness so much transformation and so many wins, both personally, professionally, you show up different. And so I'm really excited for your community to see you and Vanessa showing up as who you are today. And through all of that experience, it's going to be so exciting to watch. And I would love to know, how much time do you think you've been able to save or accelerated through having gone through that virtual group program accelerator? Like, where do you think organically, if you took action, how long that journey would take you? Too much.
Yeah. Yeah. Look, there's. You know, one of the things that I underestimated about the program is, is. Is how much information it is. There's so much information that Sasha's put together over the years and Deepa and, And. And my word, I mean, it's. It is. You are. You are drinking from a fire hose. I mean, it is. It is completely. It can be completely overwhelming. And so the gift of the accelerator is we're going to take this and just dial this down to exactly what you need to know to get yourself off the ground. You'll learn all the other stuff in time, but really, let's get you off the ground, because there's nothing like experience as a teacher, and that's what they've done. So is the accelerator worth it? The accelerator is, is not only necessary, it is essential. Like you have to do the accelerator. If you, look, if you want to go through the program and learn some cool stuff and do this at some point, sure, do the other way. But if you want to get, get in and if you own your own practice, if you own your own business and you want to get in and, and get after it now, the accelerator is essential. I don't think you can. I, I think you could do it. I just. You, you probably have to be a lot younger than I am and good at social media to be able to pull, pull it off. Yeah, it's, it was, it was great. And I, and I love the Friday classes with, with you and Deepa. Man, that was, that was. Those, those were some highlights. Those are really, really, really good. So. Yeah, it was great.
Yeah, it was, it was so lovely to just connect with everybody on, on such a different note and more of a personal note as well. And it was so. It was beautiful just seeing everybody's faces and not being bound. Geograph. You know what the world's gone through the last couple of years here. What would you say was the best part of working together?
I really, like, I'm. I really enjoyed getting to know you and having the support. I really felt like you had my back in the sense of like you knew what I was going to be going through and you had my back. And that made me a lot more confident and comfortable going through it. Because sometimes you're like, man, should I be this hungry? Oh my gosh, should it, should I feel like this? I mean, I almost. Oh boy. And you're like, oh, yeah, totally normal. Here's this, here's that. You are a great guide. You know, you were a really great guide through the program. So that's what I enjoyed most because I think I'm more of a, a bit of a people person. So it's been really great to, to get to, to know you and, and you know, I mean, it's a, it's a real pleasure to make Deepa laugh, you know. That's great. It's fun. You know, Deep has got a great laugh. Who knew, you know, but it's awesome, you know, So I, I love being a part of the, of the chat with everybody and the community and that was really cool and everybody had so many nice things to, to add and contribute and. Yeah, there's a lot of great people in this community. It's just been. Just great. It's been a real breath of fresh air in a time where you feel like you didn't get. We haven't been able to get a lot of good face time with folks, you know. Well, I think we were all kind of hungry for that, and so this has been a really good avenue in that regard.
Beautiful. I love that. It's especially, you know, awesome when you're extroverted and you've been really missing that piece, you know, not being able to, you know, chat and communicate and all of that wonderful stuff. And so it's just such a amazing community. Of course I'm biased, but I think we're a pretty awesome community, so.
An awesome community. Yeah. I mean, only positive. It's only positive. Who does that, really? Like what? Friends is only positive. Right. And, like, none. So. But anyway, yeah, it's been great. It's been totally awesome. That's. That's been my. The best part of working together was support, I think, you know, just knowing that you had my back. So that. That's it. I was. Yeah.
Thank you. Yeah. Thank you so much for sharing that. And you've made it such a. Such a wonderful journey, honestly. And it's been great to get to know you, too. We're both extroverts, so I feel like it's just. It was kind of the perfect pairing, and I really enjoyed, you know, being alongside your journey and seeing it from start to finish and continue to watch you and Vanessa grow, which is so awesome.
And I would love to Polish extroverts.
That's us in a nutshell.
Yeah. Try to pronounce our last names. Go for it.
Not a chance.
Not. Nobody's gonna do it. Yeah.
And so I would love to know, last question here. What would you tell a young Doug? Let's say there's a young Douglas that's sitting here watching this interview who is sitting on the fence considering doing a program like this, whether it be for his health or for his business. What piece of wisdom would you offer him?
The best investment that you can make is in yourself. Real estate, stocks, bonds, all that stuff, none of that measures has anything. Anything close to what you can create if you invest in yourself. So whether that's investing in yourself and. And doing a program for whatever the program cost is, a couple thousand dollars or three thousand dollars or wherever it is, to go through a program that's this proven and. And delivers this kind of result is only going to make you. It's going to teach you through the Experience of going through it so much. And you're going to glean from that a better experience for the rest of your life. I mean, it's just you're gonna, you're gonna get through life better. So from a business standpoint, if you want to have geographical and financial freedom and do it with a group of really great human beings and learn a lot of really great stuff, you didn't count on learning and be happy and have fun, this is for you. This is for you. You can do other programs that are real salesy and businessy. Yeah, that there's those two. But I don't think they have the community like this. This is a great, A really great community. You know, I mean, the speakers that you get to listen to for three days, you know, every January. Right. I think is that, is that. That's an annual thing, right. Wow. That is worth prize of admission. I mean, that was amazing. The breath work classes that you'll get to do. Yeah, it's great. It's so great. No regrets. Nothing but gratitude. Nothing but joy. It's awesome to do it. You got me done. Do it. Get off the can and do it. Do it now. Sign the paper. Do it.
Just sign the dotted line, man.
Let's get going. Come on. Time to get growing. Beautiful.
I love that. I love that so much. And I'm so grateful to have you in this community and to feed off of your wonderful energy and to, you know, cheer you on and all the amazing things that are to come your way inevitably, it's just a matter of time really at this point. So I want to say a huge thank you for sharing your story and for inspiring our community. And if anybody that's tuning in and that's watched this interview, if you have any questions for Douglas or myself, definitely feel free to post them in the comments below. And we'll do our best to support in those ways. So thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful journey, continue on this powerhouse road that you're on, and definitely keep me posted of all the wonderful things that are to come.
Awesome. You got it. My pleasure.
Awesome. Have a wonderful rest of your day, community. And bye, Douglas, thank you so much.
See you later. Alice, great talking with you today.
Likewise. Take care.
You too. Bye.
Bye.
