Hello, everybody. Hi Living Proof community. And happy, happy Thursday. I trust that you all are having an awesome start to your day. My name is Alice and I am the health coach running the Living Light Metabolic Reset program at the Living Proof Institute. And today I am live with my wonderful client Parveen, who went through our Living Light Reset program. So Parveen is in her 50s and when she came to the program she was struggling with inflammation, lots of joint pain, being able to sleep through the night uninterrupted and releasing those couple of pounds that were just stubbornly on her body and did not want to come off. She was practicing mindfulness and eating healthy foods prior to joining the program, but was also suffering from bloating and really wanted to dial in her health. It's my absolute pleasure to introduce you to Parveen today for her to share her amazing story of how she was able to release 29 or 21 pounds, 21 pounds. And empower herself through her new awareness and relationship with food. So welcome, Parveen.
Thank you so much, Alice and I would like to thank you to start with for your unconditional support in my journey. And yeah, if I can inspire one person here with this interview, I think the purpose is served.
My absolute pleasure. And it's been an absolute pleasure to work with you and be a part and witness your positivity every single day and see your wonderful posts and pictures that you shared with me. So thank you for being so open and vulnerable through this journey and really saying yes to yourself and committing to the process.
Thank you. Yes, vulnerability, yes, I experienced that and I will be sharing that throughout my interview with you. Alice, thanks for the opportunity.
My pleasure. So let's dive in and I would love to know what brought you to the Living Proof Institute to join the metabolic program.
Well, I have known Living proof teens since 2015. They treated and revived my friend and my housemate at that time. Since then I had several opportunities to meet with Sachin Deepa and Ricky Parad and eventually you also. So since then I have been using many natural products recommended by Living Proof. So as long as bringing me in, I think I was already in through my friend and my housemate since 2015. But this was for the first time I did something for myself and I'm.
So glad that you did. So what did you try prior to coming to the Living Proof?
You started that answer already, Alice, and I really appreciate that remembering all that I shared with you. I tried mindfulness and balanced eating. I tried low carb diet. That was for Less than a month and the purpose was different. Purpose was, oh, I want to lose some weight. I tried staying away from gluten. I was already into healthy and active lifestyle. As you said, I'm a walker. I love walking in the nature and I'm not a wine or beer drinker either. And I don't have a sweet tooth. But I was addicted to tea latte like chai with milk or tea with milk. I was already practicing intermittent fasting since pandemic because pandemic or lockdown gave me an opportunity to work from home. And then I was able to do intermittent fasting. I would say since April 2019. I meditate, I practice breathing techniques, tried many things at my own, but that could not sustain. Mainly because of two reasons. I would love to share these two reasons. Part of my reflections. First, reason that my focus was on weight loss and not on metabolism reset or overall physical health. Secondly, I always felt a lack of willpower for whatever reasons. So I had made peace with the fact that it's okay if I'm not losing weight, at least I'm not gaining more. You know what I mean? So that was kind of okay, you know, I am not gaining more. So I sort of made peace with myself on that before joining this program.
Yeah, thank you so much for sharing and you know, it helps to have so many things already dialed in coming into the program. But of course fine tuning and finding exactly what works with your unique body. So I'm so happy you were able to discover that and to continue to be discovering that. What did you find different about this approach compared to what you have tried in the past?
Oh boy. A whole lot of difference in terms of I found this approach holistic. It's sustainable and it's supportive. When I say holistic, holistic in the sense that I was not just informed about certain things that do this, don't do this. Rather, I was educated at each and every step of my journey. And so that helped a big helped big time for someone who is not from science background and have no idea about all this terminology. But I was able to discover the science behind food. So when I say holistic, the learnings about science behind food, food and body connection, how emotional stress can lead to weight accumulation around stomach. And that's what I had been not suffering. But that was my challenge. Then how food and body inflammation are related to each other. One big learning for me was to be in parasympathetic state. I just love this philosophy. I started reflecting on my triggers. I learned so much about eating myself and what caused body inflammation. So when I say holistic, it came in full circle for me. Sustainable. I can implement, you know like 10 weeks journey is not just 10 weeks journey, it's a long term relationship with food. And I can implement a long term strategy for healthy and balanced eating. And most importantly, when I say supportive, then the entire credit goes to Living Proof team for being so supportive, so transparent, so honest and so patient. Because you mentioned, Alice, that I was vulnerable at some points. I was. But it was okay for me to have that trust and show my vulnerability that what do I do now? So that's why I found this approach holistic, sustainable and very supportive.
Thank you. Thank you for your kind words and you know, I'm so grateful to be a part of your journey. But also all the heavy lifting has come from you. You know, you've really leaned in and embraced this process. So big congratulations to you for being in this place you are now.
Thank you.
What put you over the edge to join the program?
That's, that's a million dollar question actually. So thanks for asking. I had been planning to do something about my physical well being for the longest time. You know, I knew there is some sort of disconnect, me being such a positive person, such mindful, you know, person meditating, but I knew that there was some sort of disconnect. So I had been planning to do something about my physical well being. It was, I think now was the time to put it in action. My focus shifted from oh, my body aches to how can I cure them? But obvious I was looking for something more natural than just taking painkillers every now and then. And I don't believe in doing that. The focus shifted from oh my God, I can't do this, I can't do this. And how to kill them. I couldn't sit on my feet anymore and I wondered when did I lose it? That's something we are born with, that's a skill. And I was kind of, when did I lose that? I knew my body had accumulated so much of emotional stress over the last few years. When I heard Deepa talking about emotional stress as one of the causes of plateau and body inflammation, I was convinced to join in. And just to share why I say this was the time for me. Because the same friend and housemate said, oh, she registered for Deepa's webinars but she said she can't join in. Why don't you just go and attend those webinars. It was five pound challenge kind of thing. And I said, okay, because I always love hearing Living Proof. I said, okay, I'll do that. And with full dedication, 30 minutes every week I just sat there and every week there was one thing that actually helped me to join. So that's how I joined it.
Beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing all of that and I would love for you to share some of the results and some of the wins that you've experienced after going through this program.
Okay. So I can go on and on and on with them, but I will be mindful of your time and my time and the day and the audience. I completed 10 weeks on October 4th. Today is October 7th. So three days ago, I just completed my 10 weeks. I lost, as you said, as you mentioned, 21 pounds in spite of the fact that I had a very extremely stubborn plateau. I reduced 9 inches from neck to calves, which is huge for me. I'm fitting in to my five year old, you know, dresses, which one of them I'm wearing today, which I thought, you know, I will never fit in. But I kept releasing weight during maintenance phase too. Yeah. So I did not actually put on any weight during my maintenance phase. So I. That was a big, huge, huge win for me because I wasn't sure, you know, where it will lead to. I'm introducing all the foods I eat in routine, so I introduced all the foods except dairy. Dairy I introduced on October 4 and gluten. But everything else introduced during that maintenance phase and I did not put on any weight. So that gave me so much more satisfaction. So these are just some tangible one, but intangible and invaluable. I sleep better and then so much thankful to this Oura ring captures my sleep and my heart rate and I feel more energetic. I learned so much about science behind food. My connection with food, I thought has always been great, but it is now I feel even stronger than before. I recognize the importance of being in parasympathetic state. That's my go to statement for the rest of my life. And there was huge shift in mindset, huge shift in mindset in terms of I will share, given an opportunity, a few of those bit later in our conversation. So overall it is all good and good and we'll get better and better.
Yeah. The best is still yet to come in so many ways. So I'm so happy that so many things are being dialed in and you know, health is a journey and that's the exciting part of it is like you said, said you continue to learn and grow and to know your body. So thank you for sharing all of that. How has your knees been? I know that that was something. That was a bit of a pain point for you coming in.
Yeah, it was lot of pain points for me, my legs, basically my calves. And second week into the, into the program, Alice, I was just coming down the stairs and climbing up the stairs as if I don't have any pain. And I did not have any pain. My knees, overall, my calves. I have been walking a lot. A touchwood, no problem at all. When I experienced little bit of knee pain. And I knew right away this is not something because of inflammation. This feels like sort of an injury. And I could figure out maybe I twisted, you know, while walking or something, but that kind of joint pain or body inflammation, knock, knock on the wood. It's not there anymore.
Big congrats to that. Super huge win. That's awesome.
It's not there. Thank you.
My pleasure. And I would love to know, how have things changed for you in your life since starting this program?
Hmm. I have been journaling, you know, since I started the program and many reflections. I'm so, so, so proud of my dedication and commitment because initially, you know, remember I said that I always thought I lacked willpower, but going into this program, I felt that this is an investment for me in my health. And I am so, so proud of my dedication and commitment. I feel accomplished during these 10 weeks. I, as I said, reflected a lot. I know I'm a giver and I get so much satisfaction from doing stuff for others. Maybe with age, you know, that was turning into some frustrations and I did not want anyone to take me for granted. Something was happening around me. So maybe, you know, I was not able to do much. I didn't feel. I have, I had the same capacity I had at the age of 40, 45. But being my nature, that's my, you know, you know, preferred sort of nature that do whatever you can. So with this program, I started keeping myself prime and I realized that self care is not being selfish. Yeah, I stopped feeling guilty when I could not do things for others. That was huge for me. I identified my triggers, Alice, and that disrupted my parasympathetic state. And I started enjoying what you used to call joyful activity rather than stressing myself, I need to walk, I need to exercise. It was more like do whatever gives you sort of joy. So joyful activities. I have my own musical sort of dance now which is more like tai chi and Kikong and yoga or a mixture of that. But I love it. So many things, especially I would say self care, that if you don't take care of yourself, then you will not be able to take care of others either. So that was huge for me.
Yeah, I agree completely. And being such a giver and such a positive person, we tend to overexert ourselves for other people and feel like we are constantly needing to take care and check in with everyone that we forget to in and take care of ourselves. So then we show up, you know, like you said, not our best versions for those that we love. We have the best intentions, but we don't take the back end time and the reflection time to really get us to be our best selves and to be there for our loved ones. So I think that was the biggest breakthrough that you've experienced, especially on this program.
Yeah, no, thanks for saying that Alice, because somewhere it was kind of an element of expectations also, you know, and that's the message perhaps I want to give to whoever is watching this interview that if you feel there is lack of support from family or friends because we are expecting somebody to sort of take care of us. But I tell you, it's just your own dedication to yourself and you go through this journey so beautifully. I had my emotional setbacks in the very first week, but Alice, if you remember, I said maybe I'm staying away from my comfort foods. That's a lot. Many emotional stresses are coming out. But I tell you, you yourself are enough to be committed and then just go through this journey. If you get support from everybody else, that just icing on the cake. But you don't need that.
Exactly. And it's lovely to have support in a community that backs you up, especially when you're going through those tough times. But it's really you who wants the change for yourself that's committed to making that change in your life. And I'm so happy again that you were able to lean into it and completely commit yourself to the process. I would love to know what was the best part of us working together.
Alice. It was definitely the community, Living Proof team and the community. Every time I would just go on to my app and then type in any question, the group will be there just to not Facebook person. For me it was practice better app that came so handy and somebody will answer the question right away. I felt so support supported through Living Proof community. So that was, you know, the biggest takeaway from me. And you folks have created such, such a supportive community around yourself as well as, you know, for all, all of us, all your clients who joined the program and Alice Your support and guidance for sure. I couldn't have done it without your support and guidance. You were so patient. I know there's maybe two generations difference between both of us, but you are so patient with me and I just trusted you and just dump everything I was going through on the messages. But thank you so much for taking such good care of me.
It's my absolute pleasure and it's been such a pleasure to get to know you. And you know, this program does take, it does allow you that time to reflect emotionally, mentally. Really gives you a moment to check in. And I do find that for a lot of people, emotions tend to bubble up and tend to come to the surface that maybe have been suppressed for a really long time. So I'm happy that I was able to support you in that way. You know, I required a lot of patience when I was going through this myself. So I want to be able to be that person, that foundation for everyone to feel comfortable with so they don't feel like they're going through this program alone. So it was my absolute pleasure.
Yeah. Thank you, Alice. And I would say that Deepa's question answers. She does on Friday noon. They are so helpful. Oh boy. The amount of learnings that that have happened for me, you know, if I cannot join them live, I make sure that I listen to all those conversations and I got so many resources out of those, you know, conversations where to look into when I need some guidance or when I. And I have been such a good student. I did all the modules and I learned so much from those modules also. And then, you know, so deeper session and I would ask that Deepa should continue doing those Q and A. You guys connect so very well with the community. So thanks for everything.
Yeah, I love the community Q and A's every Friday. It just makes Friday so much more fun and so nice to connect with everybody, especially with the last, you know, little while that we've all had kind of being more home bodies and not being able to interact. So it's. I always take away so many awesome health facts and, you know, it just expands my learning and growth as well. So I'm so glad you were able to attend and you know, watch the replays and really utilize all of those resources and then, you know, of course take those to help improve your loved ones. You know, take that information and carry it through into anybody that comes in contact with you, which is awesome. My question is, where do you think your health would be right now if you didn't take action?
Boy, certainly would not be anything close to ideal. All I can say is yes. I did not join the program thinking I want to lose some weight. I joined the program about taking care of my body aches and my inflammation. I feel good about newme and I just love it. I feel healthy and I know that this is long term and lifetime investment I've done in the program.
So my follow up question to that is, what would you say to someone who is thinking about taking the next step and joining this program?
I wish I could have done this five years ago. Go for it. I would say just go for it. Don't overthink. Your body will thank you. This is just an investment in your health and you will get the best return on your investment. And I will tell you one more thing that when you invest in whether that's time, effort or money, that's what I felt. That's based on my reflection. Whether it's time, money or, you know, your energy, you want to get best out of that. And that's. That actually played a huge vital role in staying committed. I did not have any peer pressure because I said this is the investment I made on, you know, my health. And then they'll say, oh yeah, yeah, don't worry, don't worry. No, no peer pressure. So it was not those moments, not even a single moment where I said, okay, eat it now, maybe tomorrow again you can come back to the program. No. And if I wouldn't have invested in time, energy, as I say, and money, then definitely would not crave for that. So I would say go for it. Don't even wait for a minute, just join it and then see how beautiful this journey is.
Thank you. Thank you so much for sharing all of your wonderful insights. I'm so grateful that you've had such a positive journey. And like I said previously, there are so many things where the best is yet to come. So I am super excited to continue to hear your updates. I really look forward to. Usually on Fridays you send me a message and just give me an update on how you are doing and yeah, just keep me posted. I want to root you on for the remainder of your journey and thereafter as well. So thank you so much for doing this. Yeah, it's my absolute pleasure and it's been so wonderful to be able to work with you and to see you flourish in so many beautiful ways. Any last closing thoughts you would like to share before we end off today?
I would say that Healthy body, first time in my life I sort of realized that healthy body is where is required for healthy mind. I had beautiful healthy mind, but there was some sort of disconnect and I was able to see that gap and I was able to fill that disconnect with this program. So anyone who is looking to join in and is kind of, should I, should I not? Should I wait? I would say just go and join in.
Awesome. Thank you so much for sharing your insights. Thank you for taking time out of your day to do this interview with me. And thank you, Facebook, for tuning in and taking the time to watch. I wish you all a wonderful rest of your Thursday. And thank you again, Parvo. Thank you value and your experience and for sharing your insight and wisdom with everyone.
Thank you so much.
Awesome. Take care, everyone. Bye.
Bye. Bye.
