Hello, my friends, and welcome to Perfect Practice. Today you are in for an absolute treat, as I am as well. I get to interview Dominic Martineau. Dominic is a student of our Metabolic Reset program. He's got his own version of the program that he's adopted for his audience. And I think this is going to be a wonderful way to get some insights from him. He's going to share a bit about his journey and he's going to help us in, you know, really. He's going to articulate like, what he's gone through to get his business to where it's at. He's been very successful over the last few years and I just love watching him grow. I love watching him put his message out there in the world and I love how he's always humbled and so appreciative and ready to pay it forward. So, without further ado, Dominic, thank you for joining me today.
Hey, thank you. Session. I just want to do a quick thank you for you because you gave me the opportunity with the metabolic reboot to grow where I am right now. I, I remembered our first call where you talking to me about the metabolic reboot. I'm, I'm like, oh, this is, this is it. So that's what I need and you give me the opportunity to take it and, and yeah, so thank you for that. I appreciate it a lot.
Yeah, my pleasure. It's an honor. And you know, I love helping people who want to help themselves and help thousands and thousands of people. And you've been one of our wonderful, you know, participants in this process and I love what you've done with the program and how you've adopted it and how you've catered it to your audience and what people may or may not know from this conversation, unless I say it, is that you are based out of Quebec. So you've taken this English based program and adopted it into the French world. And I'm sure that created its own unique challenges and opportunities, but more so opportunities because not very many people are doing something like this. So let's, let's start with maybe winding back the clock a little bit. Before, before you started doing the Metabolic program, where was, where were you at? Where was your business at? Where was your career at? Let's start, start there.
Yeah. When you have entered into my life like three years ago, my struggle was not like attracting clients, but more of having great result result or having a system that give great result to every clients. And that was my struggle at, at that time. People, people are coming in my Practice, but I'm not. I'm not able to give the same result to every people. So I was like, not praying, but this, that was a big struggle for me because people pay you money and you have to deliver. And. And I was like, praying for a solution. And I hear by someone else that talk to that guy Sash, and he will help you. And then like, I'm trying to book a call with you, and then it's like two weeks to book a call. I'm like, oh, I really need that. And then we had our call. You. You told me all the metabolic reboot program rewards. And when I, I began to use that with my clients, every clients begin to have result. And that was, that was the big switch for me. At, at that moment, I had more confidence in my selling because I knew I can give value to those people. So that's kind of where I was at before beginning with you.
Amazing. What you know, I think it's important for clinicians first and foremost, right, to be able to attract people and, you know, probably equally as important, if not, you know, more important, is to create results for people because that's where our confidence and our certainty comes from. Especially as, as we, you know, we navigate through life and as we grow our business, we want referrals, we want to have certainty, we want to have confidence that when somebody says yes to us and we say yes to them, that there is going to be a measurable outcome on the other side. So maybe you can share, like, what are, what are some of the outcomes that you're seeing now on a regular basis with some of your clients?
Oh, yeah. So I was working with a lot of women over 40 and that was like 80 of my clientele. I will say I had great result with some, but with a lot. I get some. A lot of plateau and I'm. I'm used to try like a lot of things and nothing works. So it's very frustrating for me, very frustrating for the. The customer. And when I start like doing the metabolic reboot with them, people lose 20 to. Simply. And it was easy for me to coach people on that program. So the, the big outcome was first people lose weight, so that one thing. But other than that, people, it's so easy the metabolic reboot that the habits that you take in the metabolic reboot can be like done after the metabolic reboot. So people lose the weight and then maintain it after that too. So also people gain like a lot of confidence in the program because of the result. And people start to refer me and that's where the business started to grow a lot. So people also result wise there were improvement in their energy, in their confidence, in their digestion. Digestion inflammatory disease too. So it's really awesome program for, for, for real it's been like we transformed out 1,500 people with the metabolic reboot. And I have messages every day that's come in like thank you for that, I needed that. Like I have maybe 500 testimonial my YouTube channel or just testimonial too. So being able to, when people pay me that I know that I can give value with that have been the biggest game changer of my life in business right now. So I don't know if it's uh, if I answering your question well on that. But that, that, that was the difference.
Yeah. No, you know, having that certainty and confidence is important. Helping people achieve their goals, helping them boost their confidence, lose weight, bust through plateaus. And I'm sure that you know, people who are now having less digestive issues, less joint pain, less inflammatory type of challenges. It's gotta feel good, right? And especially when you're getting, you know, countless hundreds of testimonials that are coming in and referrals that are coming in. So let's, let's break your business down a little bit in terms of. And just keeping in mind who the audience is. It's generally people who are listening to this are functional medicine practitioners or health coaches or combination of those two and other practitioners who are listening to this who want to create awesome results for their clients but perhaps are over complicating the process. So let's, let's speak to simplicity, let's speak to, you know, and then maybe we can get into this granular stuff. But what, what's, what's something that you've done to kind of simplify your business model so that a. It helps it grow and it's easier to bring people on.
For the question is it to give result to the clients or is it to attracting clients?
I think it's both. Right. Attraction and, and results.
Okay. So for results to have a proven system with the metabolic reboot is great. But after that having like a portal where you can put all the information, the video of like what to do in the program. So having that like a system with a educational portal was a great way to simplify my job because people are entering the program, we give them the portal, they go in the portal and after that we have a small 20 minute consult where we just make sure that everything is understandable and then people can start the program. So that was a shift we made, that was really great, great to make me scale. So that's one for, for attracting clients. The easiest way to attract clients is by referral for sure. Good clients. Because if you don't have experience in marketing, It's a little bit more tough to begin, but doable for sure. So having a system where people can refer you simply and you tell the people when they enter the program in the sale call, after the sale call, how they can refer you, that was a great shift for me too. So for us we give 200 to every client that is referred to us. And the people that is refer, we give them discount of $150.
And.
And yeah, that was a great strategy for us to grow our referencing. So yeah, I think the most simple ways have your first client deliver and then ask for referral for sure.
Yeah, I think that's something that a lot of people, including myself probably overlook at times. Right. The simple ask, the hardest ask, but the simplest ask as well. Especially if somebody's overjoyed with the outcomes that they're receiving. You know, it could be a great time to ask for a referral. And you know, just for context, you're, you know, you're giving away about 350 of top line revenue. What does your program cost at the moment?
Yeah, so at the moment it costs between $2,200 and 3, $3,500. Sorry for my English, I'm French. So yeah, it's between that we have a first, first nine weeks, it's six weeks, six weeks of losing, three weeks of maintenance. And after that, what we see with people, because you want to have people having result with their losing weight, but you also want them to maintain it. And what we saw is people, when they finish losing weight, they are happy and everything, but you have to create another vision after that for them. So with our like it's called the. I don't know how to say in French in English, but yeah, it's a, it's a five month program where we teach people how to tone up, how to use supplementation, how to take their nutrition to the next level. And they are follow up with a nutrition coach and a Pilates coach to tone up their body after that. So they have another, like another, another target after they lose weight. And it's a great revenue for you too. So, so if maybe don't start with that, but in the future when you want to grow more, having a like continuation program, it's great for The LTV or the lifetime value of the customer. And great for the customer, too. They like this program because we do group coaching every, every month in that program. I'm there. And it's great discussion. People that they have value from other people that are like them. So that's, that's very. Have been very helpful. What was your question session? I think I'm going, no, no, this is great.
So, you know, having continuity for people is, is what you're saying, right? So we don't just kick them to the curb when they hit their goal, because once they reach that weight loss goal, they're going to have other goals in mind right now that they can fit into their favorite clothes, maybe they want to do their favorite things. And, and a lot of times I know that when we get people to achieve their goals now, their goals change, right? When people change, their goals change. And a lot of times people are working with you and they're doing things that they thought were impossible, or maybe they're solving a problem that they've spent countless years and thousands of dollars trying to fix. And they never, they never imagined what it would be like to actually fix that problem because they could never see themselves solving it. And now that they can, and they're a living example of it, you're giving them an opportunity to say, hey, you love this process. You love what we do. You trust us. So here's another way that we can work deeper, right? Here's how we can go further along the journey. And it's kind of the vision I get is like climbing a mountain. And, you know, you can't really see the top of the mountain because it's above the clouds. And then as you climb higher and higher, you, you're just like, this mountain never ends. It just keeps going. And you want to keep going, right? You're not going to go back down because you want to see where it leads to. So, you know, a good piece of advice is give your clients some sort of continuity because they want that. You don't want them going somewhere else necessarily where the paradigm or the process might be different and contradictory to what you've done and where you've gotten them. You want them walking up the same, the same mountain, you know, with the same equipment and tools and bringing that into the next leg of their journey.
Exactly. And it's great for the trust of the people when they understand that, okay, I lose the weight and I have something else. So I see that people are like, most people will take the big program at first, not this small program. So to increase your price, having that continuity is, is, is key. And just for people that like listening to us right now, like I never thought possible to sell a 3.5k program like in like 3 years ago. That was in my head impossible. Like impossible. I would do it. Like I just made two sale this morning at 3.5 and that's our daily routine, right? But like when I start with the metabolic reboot, I was selling it for less than that, but I was alone. I was myself. I didn't have a team. I didn't have like ads running too. So now I have more traffic. I have a team of six people that help me. So I have increased my price because of that. But if you're starting right now, you, you don't have to like with like with the at one point to 1.5 K, you have great profit to have a great life if you are alone. And you will have profit to grow a team with that. And when you grow a team now, you can increase your price after that. But like I think a good starting point for me was 1.5k for the program was great for me, great for the customer was engaged and it helped me like at 1.5 we add a lot more like reference at that point. So that's a great starting point, I think. I don't know what you teach session, but just so people can know, it's totally possible to do it for sure.
Yeah, absolutely. I think you bring up a good point. You know, meet yourself where you're at. And you know my mentor, Joe Polish, the thing that he always says is the only person the price matters to is you. Because no matter how much or how little you charge, there's going to be people that are ready to complain about it and there's going to be people that find value in it. So we've got to surround ourselves with the right people. But we also have to understand that we have to feel good about what we're charging and what works. You know, the 3.5k works for you, but it may not work for somebody who's just starting out and it probably wouldn't have worked for the three year ago version of you because you had to build those reps and build the muscles and that and also have the confidence to be able to charge that. And I'm sure if we speak a year from now, it's going to be even more because you've learned more, you're adding more value, right? You're helping people get the results faster, swifter. And also with less discomfort and obstacles in the way.
If I can give a good advice to people who are starting right now. In the beginning, I was targeting people a lot. I was targeting a real estate owner, real estate people, because they had value, they add the money. So that was more simple for me to. And I make a name in that real estate space and I got a lot of reference. So if you're starting and you want to put your attention at a great place, maybe start with people that, you know, have the money though, so it's more simple for you. So I don't know. It's a great advice. May that work for me? For sure.
Yeah. You know, you know, the thing is, is that, you know, the people that we interact with and engage with, especially in the beginning, they're going to be very deterministic in our own self worth and confidence. Yes. And if you're putting your offer in front of people that don't have money, you're going to start questioning yourself, you're going to start questioning your offer, your program, your price, all of those things are going to come up. But it's, it's really, you're putting the offer in front of the wrong people. So I think it's important what you said there is put the offer in front of people who can actually afford it and who need it. And let's face it, I think, you know, $1500 these days isn't a lot of money.
It is.
You can't even buy a decent phone for that price or you can't buy a laptop for that price. And you know, what I've noticed is that the majority of people who are struggling with their health, they've wasted way more money than that on things that didn't work right. And thankfully they haven't given up and you're able to, to support them on that journey. And of course, when they've tried many things and you're able to help them, it, it becomes, you know, very noticeable to their peers, to their colleagues, to their family members. Like, hey, what are you doing? Like, tell me more. I want to, I want to know. And it's a great conversation starter when people have vibrant health.
Exactly. For sure. And yeah. Yep, yep.
So tell me, what are, what are some books that you've read along the way? Or maybe if, if there's places you could point to people to, maybe there's podcasts you've listened to, books you've read, mentorships or coaches that you've hired. I'd, I'd love For people to know that there's more to this than trying to figure this out on our own. So what are some things that you did to help you along the way?
So product wise you helped me. Like that was like the biggest shift after that. If I can like point you, point people in the right direction. I think Alex or Mosi is a great, great book to read. Is new lead magnet offer. I think leads offer 100 million dollar leads. Exactly, exactly. That's a great book to, to start because when I like read it, I, I see myself doing that. So at first to get clients was a lot of outreach. Like a lot like that is like the pain for me. I have. I have to go to get a lot of clients. So I used to send like 130 requests a day on Facebook and like 30 dms a day. So that was a lot of work. But you know, it was worth it and I was, I was helping people and so I think if a great place to start is with, with that book and helped me a lot after that for being good at sales. Grant Cardone helped me a lot. But I don't like his approach now that I'm more advanced. But it was of one of the first. I like his energy give me energy when it was tough. So maybe you people can relate or not with them. But he helped me. So I know that after that. Yeah.
I think that's, that's, that's a good place for most people to start. Right. And, and I love being in the company of two amazing people like Grant Cardone and Alex Hormozi. So thank you for including myself in that list. One of the, one of the things that I'd love to know a little bit more about is maybe you can walk us through what your team looks like and, and who you've built. You said you've got yourself and six other people. How many people are, you know, are these coaches? Are they admin support, like media? Like who are, who are these key vital members of your team?
Yes, of course people will like that. I think don't care. So when I was like I was full, full, full. I was doing cell call and coaching and messenger. I was doing everything. I hit like 30k by myself at that moment. And at, at that moment I was like burn, burn, burn, burning. So the first ire I made was my girlfriend at that time and it was to do the messaging, to do the reach out. So that was my first hire. I. And that was a lot of hour I put in that. So that was really delivering for me. So having people that book me calls, so I just have to make the calls, was my first hire. My second hire was another messenger because I saw the potential with that. So another people that would reach out to people for a program. After that it was a coach. One year after that a coach. And I was doing the coaching too. And then when the coach was full and I was full, I hire another coach and then another coach. And at that point we hit like 100k, I think in a month. Right. And then I hire a setter after that. And now we are running with two messenger, one setter and two coaches. And it's. It's really fun to have a team. We'll say it's. It's great people that are aligned with your mission and, and I can just lead those people. And now I have really the time. I want, when I want, I do whatever I want. So I've been able to like travel and do fun, fun stuff while transforming people and leading my, my people too. So it has been a great journey. But first hire someone that will give you opportunity to sell and then coaches and then I think sellers last because you. But for me it have worked with that. So I don't know if the good thing to do, but they have work for me.
No, I love that. I think, I think you bring up a good point because a lot of times people hire individuals that are not revenue generating. Yeah, exactly. And so they're reluctant to hire because they're like, oh, this person's gonna cost me money. But when you hire a revenue generating individual. Right. They're setting up the pipeline for you. That's so important. And so you bring up a great distinction. The other question I had for you is about the messaging. So just a little bit more granular. Are these cold messages that you're sending? Is it warm? Are you sending out warm messages to people who are raising their hand asking for help? What is that process look like?
Okay, so what have worked well for me at the beginning was I have my Facebook profile where, where I put value every day. It's maybe a thought transformation, but you put value every day. And I used to go on my Facebook and just send requests to a friend with like I say real estate owner. So at like I have maybe 3,000 real estate owner on my Facebook right now. So with the strategy, the thing is you have to be consistent and it's. It will take like two or three months before it begin to ripple. So you have to be consistent. But if you do it, you will put A lot of people in front of your message that have money so it's quality. And then when the people like your stuff, you just message, message them with what your, what your goals, where you want to go. You want a free consult. Yes, you take the call. So that was our first, that was the first thing I do to get to like 30k a month. So that, that was the, that was the strategy. But it, it's a lot of loop word. It's not automatic auto. Automatization but when you have, you hire a seller, they can do that for you. So that, that's the, the beautiful thing. So that's for the messaging. People, people, people you need, you want people that have already invest in themselves maybe in smaller program. So just one line of copy is people who have tried everything. Those people seems to be great people to enter in, into your pipeline because they already invested in themselves, doesn't work and now they looking for another solution. So this, this copy, this line made me a lot of money. So I don't know if, if people will take it, but it's a great, it's a great line. If you try, if you have tried everything to lose weight. This, this line was really great. So I don't know if it's, it's inserting your question in the session.
No, I think that, I think that's super helpful. So thank you for that. Dominic. I'd love to know like now that you've, you've got your team in place, you've got your messengers, you've got your setters, you've got your coaches, what excites you and what's next for you?
Yeah, so that's okay. So last last year I have traveled a lot and with traveling was great and everything, but what I found is I'm more, more happy when I grow and where I'm. When I'm working. So that, that was a big shift for me this year and when I was like traveling and everything, I didn't make new hire, I didn't push the business more. So the business I've like stand at a good point right where I'm comfortable. But right now what I want to do is continue growing the business because just like I'm good at that point but it's selfish for me because there's so much people to help. So right now I'm in process. I just invest another 20k in the mentor program and I in. I want now to hire two new setters, another setter and I will, I have a system now with ads that is working. So we're going to scale that and see where is the constraint after that. But I want to push myself with, with, with the program this year and see where, where I can, where I can go with that. So that's like the vision for, for this year. Like push myself to, to the next level and see where I can, I can go with that. See how many people I can help and grow my team. So that's the vision this year.
I love that you mentioned ads and I know that sometimes promoting weight loss ads or health based ads can be a little bit challenging. So can you shed some light on how you kind of worked around that? Are you using Facebook? Are you using Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn? Where are you running these ads?
Yeah, so I used to run Facebook and Tick Tock. I do. I think the best thing you can do is higher with, for that because it's a lot of knowledge. I my ads guy, you know so many things I don't know. So I learned a lot with, with him. So when you are ready to go on ads. I made the mistake to have a low quality like people that was running my ads and my Facebook got shut down. My Tik Tok got shut down like everything. And after that I been was tough after that and I hire a great one to. I paid them more. But now my, my ads are working well. So for the ads I do video and, and copy to a landing page to my Facebook group. So I have a lot of volume going into my Facebook group and then I have my sitter coming in when they come in the Facebook group. So and I have like a webinar. We give people there so people know me faster and then we take our consultation after that. So that's, that's the simple that, that's the simplest funnel that I've used and have worked for me. I don't put a lot of money in ads. Like I put like maybe it's, it's a lot for a beginner, but I put like 200 a day and we do like a lot of like I don't know how many x with that, with that level. We do a lot with that. So. So yeah, that's, that's okay.
I mean very reasonable. $6,000 a month. That's not too bad. How much are you paying your ads agency to run those for you?
Yeah, so I used to pay a guy like $5,000 and then my new one is like 3k plus bonuses when we do sales. So that work well like with the ads people is different with everybody, I think. But yeah, 3, 3 to 5k I think reasonable because you want quality on that. You don't want nobody that do your ads. You will like, sorry for that but you will fuck up your account like he done with me. And that caused a lot of level of challenge to be shut down at every ads point. So take quality for sure.
I love that. Are you also building an email list or is most of your traffic contained within Facebook?
Yes, so I do have a email list. I have like 20000 people on my email list. I send email out of automatic. I, I use Data sun is a company that have made me emails. 30 day of emails. Working great with, with those people. Very great professional. I, I love, I love them. So Data son, if you want to go check really, really good company to make your email session, I have like 6% on my computer. I just want to make sure we are like in. Or I can go search for my. Let's see. Oh, I have it. Sorry. Okay, we're good. Okay, we're good.
Sorry.
All right. Yes. All right. We good? All right, awesome.
So you said D Data Sun. Is that, can you, can you spell that out?
Yeah. D A T A S U N. So that's okay.
Perfect.
Yeah, they're really great to make converting and beautiful emails. So you stand out. So for me, if I'm already honest, it's not where my cash come from, the email, it's really from the setters. And so for me that's. I know people are doing great with email though. So that's for me.
Yeah, I think with, you know, there is, there's a balance. Right. I think there's definitely value in taking people from Facebook and putting them into your email because. Because you never know when that cord can get pulled and you lose all, you lose all those contacts. I've seen people lose their Facebook accounts, they get shadow banned and all kinds of other things start happening. And, and so it's. It's probably good to have a balance of both. But I definitely agree having setters that are, you know, creating those appointments for you because at the end of the day we don't get paid to send emails. We get paid when we have conversations with people and move them towards action. So big mistake a lot of people make is they just focus on building the list instead of working the list. And at the same time they think that they don't realize that some people are ready to get started right now. Right. We don't have to nurture them for years and years. And years. Some people might take years to make a decision, but others, you know, chances are if they clicked on your ad, if they opted in, then they're probably trying to solve that problem now, not a month from now or a year from now. They, they want to fix it sooner rather than later. So I think that's great advice to, to really get in there and, and start kind of setting those appointments, setting that intention, starting that conversation. And for some people that can seem like a very daunting task. But in the beginning it was just you doing it and now, you know, you've built yourself up to where you have a team doing it. So it's great to see that you've, you've taken that process and then, you know, transferred it to somebody else and that's their role. Right. Because it's a vital part of your, your business growth.
It is, it is the. If, if I don't have my sitter, my business don't grow. So it's very, very important. And it's easy. When you do the process, you do it maybe two, three months, you've been great. And then after that you just, you don't have to pay the sitter like a lot. So. And it's a easy job to do when you have like a process to do it. So it's not, it's not tough to hire for that. It's really easy and it's a fun job. Like my, my girlfriend that was at the time, she's still working with me after three years. So she like, she liked to do the job and she, I pay her well. But at the beginning it was costing me maybe 800amonth maybe to, to make work and give me some sales. Right. So that was a no brainer at that time. So the first IR for sure, et cetera, be great for, for the business for sure. All right, I love that.
Well, Dominic, thank you. You've been so gracious with your time and so insightful, giving us a peek under the hood of what makes your metabolic reboot run and operate. And I'm excited for what the future has in store for you. I mean, you're so young, so bright, and I can only imagine what this conversation is going to be like next year or even five years from now with the impact that you're going to have. So thank you so, so much. Is there anything you'd like to share with people who are watching today? Yeah.
Thank you for being like an example for me. Like you, you where I was three years ago. When I see yourself how that the life I wanted. So it made me like you inspiring me a lot with every work you do. So thank you for that. And yeah, if you want to know more or see our community or it's all we work, you can go on Facebook. It's in French. It's called, it's called losing weight after 40. The metabolic reboot in French. If you want to go, if you want to go see it, you can just see what we do and I'm sure you will have value for that. And that's it, I think. And if you want to see me on YouTube, I'm on YouTube. Dominic Martino too, on TikTok to metabolic reboot. If you want to see all our content that we do and inspire yourself, go ahead. And thanks. Thanks for the opportunity to, to express that to people and inspiring people with that.
