Hello friends. Welcome, welcome, welcome. Thank you for joining me today. I am really excited. I have my co partner here, my partner in life and partner in business, Deepa, who is co hosting with me. Hey Deepa, how are you?
Hi everyone. I'm doing amazing. Great to see everyone here.
Awesome. I'm going to invite those of you that are joining us to feel free to turn your cameras on. We want to make this a intimate setting so that you're able to ask questions, we're able to see you. And normally I love doing live in person presentations and this is as close as we can get to being in person for now at least. And it's always great to see people and so, so we invite you to keep your cameras on if you can and we encourage you to participate throughout this entire process. It just makes the whole process so much more fun and, and exciting. So today we're going to be talking about optimizing weight loss and metabolism at any age. So there's a lot of misconceptions about weight and metabolic health and we feel that there's this natural decline which, you know, depending on the research you look at, there certainly is. But we don't have to be a victim of our age. We can be benefactors of wisdom. And so that as we get older, we get more mature, we get smarter, we can make decisions that can improve our health dramatically. Because we all know people who are at various ages in life that are healthy, right? There are, believe it or not, healthy 9 year olds that run 90 year olds that run marathons. And there are certainly very unhealthy 90 year olds that don't. And the goal here isn't for you to run a marathon, but it's for you to be healthy and have what we call a longer health span. So we don't want to focus just on lifespan, we want to focus on health span living more, not just living longer. And that's our objective with our clients. And one of the ways that we can ensure a better quality of life is by ensuring that we have healthy metabolic function. And one of the easiest ways to know if your metabolic systems are working properly or not is by looking at excess body fat. Body fat represents excess energy. It's basically all it is. It's like a savings account that for whatever reason, your body isn't tapping into, it's not utilizing to the best of its potential. And we are signaling it to store energy instead of liberate and utilize that energy. So there may be times or there may be some of you that are on this presentation right now. And really this, you know, know, community gathering, if we want to call it that, who have excess body weight in the form of body fat and low energy, type in me. If that sounds like you, where you have excess body fat but you desire more energy, go ahead and type that in. Let's make sure the chat's working for everyone and that you're in the right place. And don't be shy if you want to answer the question, but send it to me privately or to send it to Deepa privately, then you can certainly do that as well. So we're here to, you know, kind of be here to support you and hold space for you and make sure you get value out of this. And it always helps us to know that you're in the right place. So I see many of you typing in me and so kind of a dichotomy, right? It's almost like saying you're rich because you have all this money in your bank account, but then you're poor because you can't access it or spend it. Okay, so body fat is a way that we store energy, we store resources. However, if we don't have the right code to unlock it, then it never gets liberated into the form of energy. And so we have this paradox of having stored energy but a lack of energy in our lives. And that tells me that what you may have or likely have is a metabolic issue, not a weight problem. And those are two different things. Okay? And so we want to differentiate that, use the right nomenclature and the right language, because, you know, really all progress starts by telling the truth. So if we're misinformed by what our actual issue is, and the problem is we never actually get to the underlying mechanism of what's going on, and we look for all the answers in the wrong places. So now that you know you're in the right place and we get a better sense of that, what I want to do is get to know you a little bit better. So really quickly in the chat, tell us where you're from. It's always fascinating to see where people are tuning in from, and it's always exciting to see the ripple effect and the impact that our community has. So go ahead and type in the chat where you're from. See people here from Indiana, New Mexico, Florida. Toronto. Yes, Go Toronto to Mississauga. Amazing. Nice to have some local folks. Deepa and I are both located in Mississauga, Ontario, which is a city outside of Toronto, Canada. And she's upstairs in her office. I'm Downstairs in my office. So we're coming to you from our home and again we're here to meet you and get to know you better. I see Tammy's here, all the way from Frankfurt, Germany. Welcome. What time is it in Frankfurt? It must be really, either really early or really late. Welcome. Thanks for being here today. Thank you all for sharing with us the most important asset that you have, which is time. We're going to try to be very intentional with your time and what I'd like to do is set an intention into the next, you know, 50 minutes or so that we're going to spend together. So go ahead and close your eyes for a second and set an intention. What is it that you hope to get out of this time together? I like to be as intentional as I can. My intention for you is to walk away with at least one thing that you didn't know that you could apply immediately into your life that would improve the quality of your life both actively and passively. Actively means you're actually doing something. Passively means that it's happening without you even thinking about it. However, it's working nonetheless. Deepa, I'd love to know what your intention is today.
My intention today is to have fun with all of you and to deliver amazing value to all of you that you can all take away immediately and action in your day to day lives.
Awesome. Go ahead and type in your intention and I would love for you to share that in the chat. What is it that you would like to have manifest during our time together today? It could be an aha moment. It could be a breakthrough. It could be something that helps you see the world through a different lens. It could be something that helps you have a health breakthrough so that you're able to live a better quality of life. Okay, awesome. So I'll give you a moment to go ahead and type that in. What I found about intentions is that they're so much more likely to manifest if we speak them into existence. So our thoughts vibrate. However, our words also create vibration and that puts an energy out there into the world. All right, so I see some awesome intentions coming in and I know that you're in the right place. All right, so here's what you're going to learn today. You're going to learn simple, practical and extremely affordable ways to improve your health. You also have an awesome opportunity to ask questions. So we'll leave some time for Q and A and you'll also have an opportunity to look at your health, your body and really appreciate what you have possession of. You have possession of the most powerful healing instrument that's ever been created, which is your body. Your body is literally in the process right now of rebuilding itself. In fact, every single cell in your body was built by your body. Every joint, every tissue, every piece of cartilage, every. Every skin cell, every liver cell, every brain cell, every thought you've had, and every action that you've done has been produced by your body. So, unfortunately, the problem is nobody's taught us how to use our body. And so we end up almost feeling like we're victims of a body that doesn't work the way it's supposed to, when, in fact, there's nothing that can fix you better than you. So our goal today is to share seven practical, maybe unconventional, uncommon things that you haven't heard about improving and optimizing your body composition. Whether you're trying to lose just those last five pounds or whether you're trying to lose 100 pounds, the principles are the same. And our ultimate objective is always to move people from one end of the spectrum to the other. So to move people from wherever they are right now to the spectrum of ultimate health, vitality and contribution. Because what we believe is that you can't contribute your gifts into the world unless you have your health first. If we ever ask someone to visualize their future and their most amazing and most perfect life, they are healthy in that vision of themselves. However, in order for that to happen, we have to create a strategy towards creating health. When it comes to your health, time is always working against you if you don't know what you're doing. But when you know what you're doing, time is working for you. So you're going to learn today how to make time work for you. Because last time I checked, time doesn't stop, it keeps on ticking. So let's make it tick in a favorable way for us so that we can be super, super healthy. Deepa, do you want to go over what our values are so people know where this energy and intention is coming from? Sure.
Our values are basically honesty, integrity, transparency, nature, love, community, paying it forward. We have like 10 or 12 of them. Those are the ones I can service. Those are some of the ones that I can think of off the top of my head. And the reason why we share these with you is that we want to make sure that we share the same values and really make sure that we bring that energy forward in this. In this presentation here today.
Awesome. Thank you. So let's start with paradigm and identity. So These are two very important places for us to start. The first is our paradigm. Our paradigm is the lens through which we look at the world. If the lens through which you look at the world says that as I get older, I get sicker, as I get older, it becomes harder to blank. I'll give you an example. My grandmother. Her paradigm is such that as she gets older, she is supposed to get sicker, she is supposed to not feel good, she's supposed to be in pain, and guess what? That's exactly what she experiences out of her life. And when our paradigm is broken, then every decision that we make is then broken because our paradigm determines our decisions. Now, my paradigm of getting older is that I get wiser. That there is new technology and new information and new innovation that is constantly taking place. That is for my benefit. So the longer I can stay healthy, the longer I can stay vital and vibrant, because the world's knowledge and awareness of health is continuously getting more and more upgraded. So I look at it as a huge advantage. I also look at getting older as getting wiser and becoming more experienced and also having a greater impact in the world. What is your paradigm of getting older and getting wise? What is your paradigm of health? Is your paradigm of health such that somebody else is going to come and fix all of your problems? Or is your paradigm of health that my health is my responsibility and nobody can do as good of a job taking care of my health as I possibly can? That is my paradigm. What's your paradigm? And if you're in agreement with that, then just type in I agree so that I know we're all in the same place. Now, our paradigm also determines our actions. So if your paradigm is that no one's going to take better care of me than me, no one knows my body better than I do, and nothing can fix my body better than my body can fix itself, then our actions need to dictate that belief. Okay, now let's talk about identity. Identity is the internal dialogue and language that we have with ourselves that sometimes we vocalize. So I'll give you an example. So if somebody's identity is that I'm trying, I'm somebody who's trying to quit smoking versus somebody whose identity is I used to smoke. Guess which person ends up quitting smoking. Number two. Right? The person that says I used to be a smoker because their identity is somebody who used to smoke who no longer smokes. But if your identity is somebody who's trying to quit smoking, then you're always going to be somebody who's trying to quit and has never quit. If your identity is, I'm somebody who's trying to eat healthier, then you're always trying. You haven't claimed that identity. A really simple example of an identity is somebody who's vegetarian or non vegetarian, right? It's really clear. The decisions become super clear. If you're vegetarian, then you don't eat, you know, animal flesh. That's the identity of that person. Decision making becomes almost. It's not even. It's. There's no thought involved in making that decision because their identity to them is so clear. So what is your identity when it comes to your health? My identity is that I am a person that makes conscientious, healthy choices at every opportunity I get. And I make the best choice that I possibly can. It's that simple. I make the best choices in every opportunity I have to improve my health. So that gives me room to be imperfect when the circumstances are imperfect, without beating myself up. When we claim a new identity, then immediately the decision making changes for me. I haven't had gluten in 11 years, so I'm not someone who's trying to avoid gluten. I'm somebody who will never eat gluten again knowingly. And it's very clear for me. It's a non negotiable for me. Trust me. I love all the things that other people love. Bread, pasta, pizza. I could eat that stuff all day. In fact, that's all I used to eat in university. I have the pictures to prove it. But now I have a new identity. So what is your new identity going to be? Is it going to be someone who's trying to lose weight? Is it going to be somebody who has a slow metabolism? Is it going to be somebody who's going through menopause and can't lose weight? Is that your identity? Because you know, there's people that go through menopause and don't gain weight, right? You know, there's people that are 60 and don't have diabetes or heart disease or any of those issues. Our identity is extremely important in determining our reality. It determines our choices and it determines who we hang out with. It determines so much of our life at a subtle and sometimes not so subtle way. Next, let's talk about being independently healthy. So we've all heard about being independently wealthy, right? This is where you're not depending on somebody else to write your paycheck. Well, the same thing can be said for being independently healthy. It is ultimately our obligation and responsibility to Be as independently healthy as possible. Now, that doesn't mean that you may not need a doctor or you may not need an emergency procedure. I mean, that happens even to the best of us. However, for the most part, what I realized is that if you're taking really good care of yourself, if you need an emergency procedure, usually the outcomes are much better if you're healthy. In fact, some people will actually get healthier before a surgery strategically because they want to have much better outcomes. And being independently healthy means that in every moment of every day, you know what the right decision is to move yourself towards health and happiness. Okay, so we became independently healthy many, many years ago. In fact, I don't have a family doctor. My son does not have a pediatrician. He's now he'll be turning 12, believe it or not, here, in a few short months. And that's what I call independently healthy. Okay? Somebody who becomes self sufficient and knows how to take really good care of themselves, that they don't need a third party that is responsible for their health. We're ultimately responsible for our health. And what I believe, and Deepa, I'm sure agrees with this, is that the only solution to our healthcare crisis that we have right now is not more doctors, not more nurses, not more medications, not more hospitals, not more free interventions. What we need is people who know how to take really good care of themselves and their children. Okay, type in me if you would love to know how to never need a doctor again unless it's an emergency situation. Okay, awesome. So you're in the right place. Okay. So there is so much that we can share. And what we're going to do is we're going to go through this, you know, very lightly. But we want you to take notes. There's no fancy slideshow or anything like that. So you're going to want to take notes, you want to make sure you're paying attention and we'll get right into this. So all dysfunction ties back to inflammation and stress. So if you're ever wondering what is the root of my dysfunction in my body, it's going to almost always tie back to inflammation and stress. Now some forms of inflammation are going to be subtle, which means they're not going to be painful. So when you have inflammation in your body, let's say in your arteries, there's usually no pain associated with that. Right? Like nobody's like, oh, my arteries hurt. Like, you're not going to hear somebody say that. Right. Unless you're having a heart attack and then you're going to feel like an elephant sitting on your chest. But that's a result of chronic, low grade, you know, inflammation that the person may not have had any idea of. And the second thing that all dysfunction ties back to, a stress. Now, stress comes in three forms. Chemical, physical, and emotional. Chemical, physical, and emotional. So chemical stress could be certain foods that we're putting in our body. Emotional could be certain people in our lives or certain situations that we put our bodies in. And physical could be something like excess exercise, or it could be, you know, breaking something or twisting something and causing problems in that regard. So pretty much every dysfunction can be tied back to this. So it becomes very important for us to ask ourselves, what am I doing to increase inflammation in my body and create stress, which pushes my body out of homeostasis? Homeostasis is the balance that our body is constantly trying to find. It's like a pendulum, right? It kind of is swinging, and then eventually it finds its middle ground. And ideally, we want to be in the middle as much as we can. When we're in that middle range, we're burning fat as an energy source, we're healing, we have tons of energy. We have an amazing functioning immune system. Our blood sugars are stable, our cognitive function is on point, Our motivation is exactly where it needs to be. And of course, we feel amazing. So inflammation and stress are the two things that create the most disruption and dysfunction in our body. So now let's get into the seven unconventional ways to lose body fat safely and permanently. So one of our values is to make sure that what we do makes you healthier. So everything that we're going to share with you today is going to move you in the right direction of health and wellness. And if you create permanent changes in your paradigm and identity, then you'll be able to keep this weight off forever. Now, here's a question that comes up often is, and as people, they go through a transformation, or they might even ask before the transformation even starts, when can I start eating bread again? I know there's some health coaches on here, and you'll hear that your patients ask you this, well, when can I, okay, this is great, but when can I eat bread again? That person has not changed their identity, right? So guess what? Because they didn't change their identity, they're going to find themselves back in the same place. And do they ever blame themselves or do they blame the program? Well, they blame the practitioner, right? Or they blame the diet, or they blame something and they say, oh, well, this doesn't work. Well, it's because they didn't change their identity. Okay? So that's where paradigm and identity is so important. So let's go through number one. Number one is to know your body type. Knowing your body type is probably the first place that you can start. This makes going to the mall so much more interesting. And I almost invite you, after learning this, these four different body types, to just go to the mall and people watch and really body watch. Right. Without judgment, but just so you can practice in identifying almost, you know, diagnostically identifying what hormones people have out of balance. Because looking at somebody's weight is different than looking at their composition. It's different than looking at the shape of their body, because different hormones will cause different physical appearances of individuals. Now, there are obviously nuances, and there's going to be different ways that people present and you can be a combination of these body types. But I want to go over these really quickly. So, Deepa, I'm going to have you go over the four different body types and just share with us which of the hormone imbalances result in the composition that we see here and what I'm also going to encourage those of you to do. You can, if you already know which one you are, you can type in which letter you are. A, B, C or D. Or you can give Deepa a few moments and she'll walk you through it, and then you can tell us which one you are. Or if you're a combination of these four different body types.
Okay, so body type A we'll start with is high cortisol. So that's someone who has a lot of stress. And they primarily gain weight around the abdomen. And it's that soft belly. It's not really a tight, taut belly. It's. It's pretty soft. Okay. They may have difficulty falling asleep. They may be a slow starter in the morning. They me feel a little bit wired and jittery at the same time. They crave salty food. They have trouble calming down. Right. So they might seem calm on the outside, but inside they're really troubled. They may experience afternoon headaches and afternoon yawning, and they experience chronic fatigue. So that's body type A. Okay, so those are some of the symptoms. And then in terms of the shape, as you can see from that picture, most of the weight gain is in the belly. Body type B is high estrogen. So this body type, as you can see, gains most of their weight around the hips, thighs, and buttocks.
Okay.
They may experience mood swings with their period, some breast tenderness, maybe some fibroids. Or endometriosis. They may experience really heavy periods.
Okay.
Other symptoms might be vaginal dryness or itchiness and perhaps some hot flashes and night sweatshirts. Okay. And then body type A is low thyroid. Okay. So this body type, as you can see, has generalized weight gain. So arms, hips, thighs, legs. Right? It's generalized. Okay. And this is referred to the apple body type.
Okay.
Whereas the estrogen body type, body type B is more so pear shaped. Okay. So the apple type body is low thyroid. And they may experience some difficulty losing weight. They, as I said, have generalized weight gain. They may be experiencing some mental sluggishness, chronic constipation, cold intolerance, excessive hair loss, thinning of the eyebrows, usually the outer third out of outer part of the eyebrows. They may feel easily fatigued and really sleepy during the day. They may experience some seasonal sadness as well. That's the low thyroid body type. Then body type D is the liver body type. As you can see from this body type, most of the weight gain is also in the abdomen, but the arms and legs are very thin. But the abdomen is very hard. It's not a soft abdomen. So that's weight gain around the abdomen primarily. This body type may be easily intoxicated. They may have a history of drug or alcohol use, some sensitivity to chemicals. They may also have sensitivity to tobacco smoke, pain under the right side of the rib cage, hemorrhoids or varicose veins are common with the liver body type. And then also chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia can be a part of the liver body type as well.
All right, thank you. So let's all take a moment and see if we can identify which body type. Seems to resonate with us based on physical appearance, but then also based on symptomology. And again, if you feel more comfortable messaging myself or Deepa privately, then you can do that as well. It's just helpful for us to know who's here, who's tuned in so we know how to focus our energy.
Once again, as Sachin had mentioned, many people are combination of one or two or three of these. You might just identify primarily with one, but you may have some overlapping symptoms and that's perfectly normal as well. Not normal, but common to have more than one identification with body types.
Yeah, thanks for sharing that. That's important to know, right? Some of us are going to be very cut and dry and some of us are going to be a mixture. I see a lot of as no surprise and a lot of Cs. So A's and Cs are often paired with one another, and sometimes Bs and Cs are paired with one another. So A is adrenal, which is the high cortisol body type often associated with stress and blood sugar dysregulation. And C is thyroid. And it's not uncommon for people to eventually burn out their thyroid and adrenal, adrenal glands in succession of one another. So we do see that quite often knowing your body type now helps you understand what hormones are out of balance, which then helps you kind of reverse engineer a solution that may be more specific for you. And that's what we help our clients do. In addition to knowing your body type, there's a survey that you would fill out. And that survey of symptoms allows us to really put the puzzle together. And, of course, a conversation is super, super helpful and impactful because we can ask all the right questions. So that's knowing your body type. And this is something that we learned from Dr. Eric Berg, some of you might know, who's extremely famous on. On YouTube these days. I took his training over 12 years ago, so I've been applying this in our practice for many, many years. And it's a great way to instantly know when you see people, what's going on in that person's life or what hormones are imbalanced. All right, number two, breathe. Right, so here's an interesting fact. For every 10 pounds of body fat that we lose, eight and a half of those pounds are through your breath. Let me say that again. For every 10 pounds of body fat that you lose, eight and a half of those pounds are through your breath. The other pound and a half is through your urine. So if you ever wondered, where does the fat go? We don't poop it out. We pee it out, and we breathe it out. Because the byproduct of fat metabolism is oxygen. I'm sorry, carbon dioxide and water. Isn't our body so cool? It just turns our fat into the air? We exhale carbon dioxide and urine. Breathing right is super important for a few different reasons. One is when we breathe correctly, we set the right tone in our nervous system. Just like every. There's an app for everything. There's a breath for everything. Most people, unknowingly, about 50% of the population, breathes through their mouth. And by breathing through our mouth, we actually send our body a stress signal. Our mouth is, from a bacteria standpoint, the dirtiest part of our body. So when we breathe through our mouth, we're inhaling all these bacteria that's going into our lungs, creating more stress on our nervous system and our immune system. I'm sorry, we breathe through our mouth, we send our body into a state of fight or flight. So slow breathing through your nose is one of the most important things that you can do. And you could start doing that right now. So for the rest of this conversation, I'm going to teach you how to breathe. For the rest of today's presentation, it's really simple. What you're going to do is you're going to put your tongue at the roof of your mouth, just gently placed at the roof of your mouth, and the tip of your tongue is going to gently touch the back of your front two teeth. When you do that, what you'll notice is that it becomes almost impossible to breathe through your mouth. And you're going to breathe in and out through your nose. You're going to breathe in and out through your nose slowly, about six seconds in, six seconds out. And we're not talking full, deep breaths, that's not necessary, but slow, rhythmic breaths. One of the most important things for you to pay attention to is your breathing. And this is something that's often very easily overlooked. We can use different breathing techniques, we won't go over them today, but you can use different breathing techniques to increase metabolism, to slow down your metabolism, to increase cognitive function, to increase creativity, to increase logical thinking, to warm your hands and feet, okay? So we can use breathing for heating our body and our core temperature. We can also use breath to fight infections. In fact, breathing through your nose is one of the most effective ways to actually kill viruses and bacteria. Our nose is lined with a mucous membrane. And that mucous membrane produces something called nitric oxide. Nitric oxide kills bacteria and viruses on contact. So these past two and a half years, I still see people wearing masks and breathing through their mouths. When instead you could breathe through your nose. You have a built in mask that does that for you. Breathing correctly will set the right tone in your nervous system, will set up your immune system for better health. And remember, it will help optimize your metabolic function. So breathe right and we do a much deeper dive into this. We could do a whole two hour presentation on breathing. We're going to leave it at that for today. Next, I want to talk about optimizing meal timing. So many of us know it's important to eat healthy, right? We're not going to spell out what you should and shouldn't be eating because it's going to be unique for some of you. But what we do know is that optimizing your meal timing is vital for your health. So a couple things we'll talk about really high level is you want to avoid eating three hours before bedtime. Avoid eating three hours before bedtime. Your biggest meal of the day should be midday. Midday is when the sun is in the highest position. So that might be 10am, it might be 2pm, it might be 12pm it's not always right at 12 o'. Clock. So if you can increase your meal size midday versus having a big dinner, that's in and of itself going to make a big difference. Secondly, avoid eating meals three hours before bedtime. Now that doesn't mean that you eat your dinner late and then extend your bedtime. Right? It means that you want to reverse engineer your day. So if your bedtime is 10 o', clock, then try to eat your dinner sometime between 6:30 and 7 so that you have that three hour window, the first two hours of bedtime. We don't want to have our stomach full because that's a time where our brain actually goes through its internal detoxification process. But if we've eaten late at night, then the body focuses on digesting the food that's in our stomach instead of focusing on helping our brain optimize while we sleep. So meal timing is huge. And then another thing that we can talk about which is a little bit more advanced for some of you and may not be for everyone, but is intermittent fasting. This is when you eat during an eight hour window of the day or less. So you might eat between 12 and 6. Okay. And then you don't eat until the next day until noon. So you're literally having a 16 to 18 hour window of time where you're not eating anything. This gives your body and your organs a chance to repair, regenerate, recuperate. And it also creates what's called hormesis, which is a good stress on our body. Very few, like none of you are going to unless you have major blood sugar dysregulation. Most of you can tolerate intermittent fasting. And once you get used to it, you almost don't want to ever have breakfast again. It's like such a liberating feeling to have. So, and you have so much more energy. And guess what? For 16 hours, if you're not eating, what's your body using for energy? It's not using food for energy, it's using your stored energy, which is body fat. Okay. Yeah, Liz is at the right idea. Okay. So intermittent fasting is a powerful Way to rebalance so many hormones and create so much amazing shift in your body without doing anything right. We talked about giving you stuff that saves you money or is free. Not eating breakfast saves you tons of money. Okay. Now some of you might decide to eat breakfast and have a late lunch and then not have dinner. You could switch things up based on whatever your schedule is like, but it's that time of 12 to 16 hours where you're not eating anything that's going to be advantageous to you. And you can start at 12 hours, work your way up. The world's leading longevity expert, David Sinclair, only eats one meal a day. Okay. If your blood sugars start dropping and become low, it could be because your adrenals are not functioning optimally. And generally speaking, those people are probably body type A because that's the adrenal body type. If your blood sugars are crashing and your body type A, it's because your adrenals need some support. Deepa, you want to share this quick story? Yeah.
So this is my client here, Layla. She's 48 at the time and she was experiencing low energy and weight gain, right? Difficulty losing weight. She was in those menopausal or premenopausal years and things that she had tried when she was younger were just not working. So she went through our program and as a result she lost 33 pounds, experienced more energy and one of the main things that we worked on with her was meal timing. Right. As Sachin had mentioned, we compressed her eating window to an eight hour eating window, incorporated some intermittent fasting, made sure she was eating an anti inflammatory blood sugar balancing meal plan and the weight just literally melted right off of her within 10 weeks. So we see some pretty amazing results when we implement the right strategies and really guide people to modify their meal timing and modify their nutrition. Right. Just a few simple shifts. As Sachin said, skipping breakfast or skipping dinner, it's a simple shift. Saves time and saves money as well.
Especially these days. Right. Food is getting more and more expensive. And you know, why eat more than you have to. We've been conditioned by the food industry that we need to eat so much food and constantly have food shoved down our face. But the reality is we don't. We have no defense as human beings against overeating. Let me say that again. You have no defense against overeating. Your body is actually built up defense mechanisms for under eating, but it has no defense mechanisms for overeating. So, you know, skipping a meal here and there, it's really. And it's really not even. Don't even think of it as skipping a meal, because the moment you say skipping a meal, then it's like you're depriving yourself. Okay, so we're not depriving you. We're being strategic with your meal timing. So I caught myself saying skip a meal, but I want to really reframe that and rephrase that so that you're not feeling like you're depriving yourself, but instead you're being strategic with your meal timing. Now, here's what's really interesting about modifying and optimizing meal timing. You will see results even if you don't reduce your calories. So we're not talking about calorie restriction. Through this process, you could eat whatever you're going to eat at breakfast, and you could have it with your lunch meal if you wanted to, and you'll still see results. The reason we intermittent fast is because we want to give our body a window of time where it can process all of this stuff uninterrupted. If you keep putting work on somebody's desk right before they finish the last batch of work, then it's going to start piling up and their work is going to be dysfunctional. So if we just keep putting food into our mouths every few hours, like the food industry wants us to. Well, guess what? Every time you have a meal, your immune system wakes up. It has to process every single molecule of food that you put into it. When your digestive system is arisen, right? You have to make stomach acid, which is a million times more acidic than your blood. You have to make pancreatic enzymes. You have to make bile so that you can digest the fats and kill the bacteria that might make its way through. Then your immune system has to meet and greet every molecule before it enters into your bloodstream. And then you have to mobilize all that stuff out of you. So it takes a tremendous amount of energy. So people will say, yeah, when you eat more often or more frequently, increases your metabolism. Yeah, it increases your metabolism, but at what expense, right? Do we want to increase metabolism or do we want to get healthier? Do we want to give our bodies a break, or do we want them to feel taxed all the time and just keep putting more and more work on their plates? When you're digesting, you're not healing. Let me say that again. When you're digesting, you are not healing. Because your body prioritizes digesting, right? Because it's got to do something with that food. And if your stomach's empty, digestive system's empty, your body has 100% of its focus on healing and repairing, and it's got an adequate fuel source, which is stored body fat that it can tap into. Now, we have to send it all the right messages, but once you do that, the weight loss becomes effortless and automatic. Okay. All right. Who's finding this valuable? Has anyone learned at least one thing today? Type in. Type in yes or type in me if you learned at least one thing. So I know that Deepa and I are at least doing our job and we've kept our promise. Okay? So for those of you that learn one thing, we're in bonus time now, right? We're in the bonus round of all the things that we're going to teach you. So let's go into step number four, which is to sleep like a champ. I'm going to pick things up because we're getting close to bedtime for some of you and Pat some of people's bedtimes, like people who are here from Germany. So let's talk about sleep like a champ. Now, here's the reason we say sleep like a champ instead of sleep like a baby. Whenever I meet a new. Whenever I need a pair of new parents, the thing that they complain about is their child waking up at night, right? So the moment we say sleep like a baby, we are already setting the stage for disrupted sleep. And when babies wake up in the middle of the night, what are they? They're usually cranky, they're usually hungry, they're usually crying and emotional, and they require attention. So I don't know why people say sleep like a baby. Let's sleep like a champ. A champion is somebody who emphasizes sleep. One of my mentors, Charles Poliquin, he was the number one strength training coach in Olympic history. And I used to actually teach side by side with him. I used to teach his functional medicine training to personal trainers. And the first thing that he would focus on when he was working with an elite athlete was not how much they bench press, not how much they squat, but it was the quality of their sleep. That was the first thing he would ask them because he knew that the quality of that person's sleep was going to be deterministic in the level that he was going to be able to push them the next day. If your sleep sucks, then everything else sucks the next day. Your cognitive function, your metabolic function, the foods that you crave, your neurotransmitters, your immune system, your energy levels, everything tanks if you don't sleep well. So if we were going to focus on one thing, maybe two or three things, but let's get your breathing right and let's get your sleep right, and let's get you breathing right while you sleep, okay? So we can kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. So let's talk about sleeping like a champagne. Some of this stuff is going to be review and basic for some of you. Some of it might be things you never heard or considered. So first and foremost, we want to have a consistent sleep and wake time. We want to wake up and sleep at. At the same time, even on the weekends, even during holidays, if we can help it. We want to ensure that we get morning sunlight. Morning sunlight sets the stage for a good night's rest. If you can get morning sunlight, midday sun, and watch the sunset, you are almost guaranteed a good night's sleep. If you can do those things outdoors, you will sleep like a champ. Use a. Think of your room like a cave, okay? So when you go into a cave, it's dark and it's cold. So we want to have a room temperature that's cold at night. So just like the rest of the planet, when the sun is gone, everything cools down. Right? And that's actually how our bodies have adapted. Our bodies expect it to get colder at night. However, we've set up our rooms where we get warmer at night and we're in blankets and our body temperature is hot. Then guess what are you burning, more fat or less fat? Any guesses? You're burning less fat. So just by the fact that you're all bundled up and warm, you're burning less fat eight hours of every single day. Okay? So sleeping in a cool room is going to make a huge difference. That might, for some of you, mean turning the air conditioning down. For some of you, that might mean opening a window. For some of you, it might mean reducing the number of covers that you have. Okay? For some of you who have the budget, you can also get something called a chilipad, which is a pad that you put on your bed that actually lowers your core temperature. Your core temperature should drop about half a degree every night. Okay. Um, so that's another thing. Okay. Another thing for sleep is you want to try to avoid artificial lighting at least two to three hours before bed. So overhead bright lighting is not ideal. It's going to be disruptive to your sleep. And I understand the irony because it's kind of getting towards the evening. And I'm giving this presentation in front of My computer. But this is not most nights for us. Most nights our computers turn off at 6 o' clock and then we put on our blue blockers and we turn on the red bulbs in our house. Another tip, for some of you that need to feel safer at night, a weighted blanket can be very beneficial. So it just gives you that feeling of safety and security. Almost feels like you're swaddled, like when you were a baby and you were all wrapped up and bundled up. It can give you that sense of safety and that can calm our nervous system down and help us sleep much deeper. There's plenty of teas out there. One of my favorite teas is called the third I Tonic Dream Tea by a company called Anamina Mundi. And I drink that tea and I have some amazing dreams and my deep sleep is amazing. Taking magnesium can also help with enhancing sleep. Okay. For some of you, diffusing lavender oil can be beneficial. I have this beautiful rose spray. So it's an essential oil spray with rose oil in it and I spray that on my pillow because the smell of roses turns off the stress response in our body. So neurologically we can use scents like lavender to calm our nervous system down. We can use rose essential oil to shut off the fear and anxiety response in our brain. That's why they say wake up and smell the roses. Right, or smell the roses because it literally calms us down. Okay, so there's a few tips that you can apply. There's so much more, but I'm going to leave it at that for now because that gives you plenty to work with. Deepa, you want to talk about Mike's story?
Yeah. So Mike was a 40 year old male who came to us and he needed to lose 100 pounds. Okay. He had lots of inflammation in his body. He was taking about 8 to 10 Tylenol per day. He had tried so many different programs and diets. He actually was a beachbody coach. He tried keto. He tried so many different things and none of them really worked and none of them were really sustainable long term term. He also had high cholesterol, he had really low energy and he had really, really poor sleep. And over the course of 10 weeks, Mike released 50 over 50 pounds. It was exactly 58.4 pounds. He went down by 18.5 inches. He stopped his Tylenol completely. He was actually enjoying all his food. It tasted delicious. And one of the main highlights was that he was sleep so much better, which as a result, you know, his energy was drastically improved. And you know, he one of the main things that was addressed was, as Satchin said, was the inflammation in the body, Right? And that's why he was able to lose, you know, a lot of that weight and stop the Tylenol. And one of the main ways to decrease inflammation is getting better sleep, Right? And also one of the main ways to modify your adrenal hormones and your stress hormones, which is that weight gain around the belly, which, as you can see from this picture, you know, he has a lot of weight in the belly area, is through sleep, Right? That's what helps us reduce our cortisol, is to really focus on getting deep, restful sleep, Right? So that's one of the main things that we focused on with Mike.
One of the things that we also do to emphasize and really measure sleep is we give each of our clients an OURA ring. So an OURA ring is a great tool that helps you track your progress. And what gets measured gets improved. What gets measured and reported gets improved exponentially. So in recognizing the value and importance of sleep, we actually monitor our client's sleep so they can see firsthand if things are moving in the right direction for them or not. They can see firsthand. Is my deep sleep improving? Is my REM sleep improving? And we can see if they're actually going to bed at a decent time. That makes sense. But we can also see if their sleep is disrupted if they're tossing and turning, and then give very specific recommendations. Now, one simple recommendation that we would give to all of you, really, is to use something called mouth tape. Mouth tape is a surgical tape. It looks like this, and there are fancier versions. This works just fine. It's called 3M micropore tape. And what you do is you take a little piece. I'll show you exactly what to do. You take a small piece, about an inch and a half, and you place it on your mouth like this. So I can still speak, I can still breathe through my mouth if I want to. Works with a beard, works without one. And what you can do is you just put this on there. And what it does is it keeps your mouth closed while you sleep. I'm claustrophobic. I can't sit in the backseat of the third row of a van if there's no escape plan. So I can appreciate those of you that are claustrophobic as well. And this does not make me feel claustrophobic at all. I also have a deviated septum. And by mouth taping for the last three years, within the first few weeks, I stopped snoring. So now it's pretty rare, maybe one or two in a hundred nights that I'll snore. But my snoring disappeared and Deepa is my witness. And my breathing mechanics improved significantly. My deep sleep scores improved, Everything improved when I started really emphasizing how I breathe while I'm sleeping. I mean, I'm going to breathe while I'm sleeping, right? Why not breathe correctly without having to think about it and use like a 5 cent piece of tape that keeps my mouth closed at night. All right, number five, let's talk about joyful movement. Joyful movement is movement that you love doing. I spent the last two days landscaping and gardening and I can tell you that it was a workout. So it was about six to seven hours each day and I loved every minute of it. But if you told me to go be in a gym for six to seven hours a day, I would probably not like that very much. I love outdoor activity. I love cycling, being on my bike, feeling the wind through my beard. I love being outdoors in the sun. I love being outdoors, gardening, spending time landscaping, and really having this awesome, awesome space that we created and watching it transform. I love that. Some of you might like yoga, some of you might like playing with your kids or your grandkids. Some of you might like going for a hike. That's something else I love doing, is going for a hike in the woods. So what is it that you love doing that you look forward to? And bonus points if you can do this outside, if you could be active outdoors, when especially right now, it's summertime or approaching summertime for us. So this is the best time for us to be outdoors. Be active outdoors. That's going to help you do multiple things at the same time. So you make sure you're breathing correctly. Okay. While you're doing any movement or exercise, breathing primarily and exclusively through your nose as much as you can, you're getting beautiful sunlight, which is bathing your body with UV light, which is increasing vitamin D production, which is helping increase bone density, which is increasing the production of circadian related hormones to optimize your sleep. It's increasing serotonin, which later turns into melatonin to help you fall into a nice deep, restful sleep and enhance immune function. And you're also getting your hands in nature, which helps us ground. So if you can do things you love outside, then you're going to feel so much better and you're going to be doing so many things, you're going to be stacking so many healthy habits all into one thing. Okay? And you want to move throughout the day. That's the other key. So when we study people who live the longest, they don't just exercise for an hour, try to kill themselves in the gym in the morning and then sit the rest of the day. Right. Like animals don't do that. Right. If an animal just did all of its exercise for half an hour to 45 minutes or an hour a day, and then it just sat around the rest of the day, it's not going to be very healthy. So we've got to move throughout the day. One of the ways to guarantee that you're going to move throughout the day is to drink lots of fluids. So by drinking lots of water, it's going to force you to get up every half an hour, 45 minutes to. To move around. Okay. So do things you love outdoors as much as possible and move around throughout the day and stop trying to kill yourself in the gym. Trying to do that is actually going to backfire because it's going to create tons of inflammation and it's physical stress on your body, which are the two pillars we talked about, the sabotage, fat loss. Okay. What I want you to also know is many of the bodybuilders that you see and. Right. Those are not good role models for you. If you were to see the stuff that they put in their bodies, they inject into their bodies, the stuff that they eat, and the way these people end up 20 years down the road, they are some of the most unhealthy people you'll ever meet. Okay, so we don't want to have the habits of a bodybuilder because their goals and objectives are totally different than what yours might be. Your goal is to live long, healthy, vibrant, and have a reasonable and decent body composition. Okay. So joyful movement is something that you want to incorporate. Here's a story of Fazita. So Fazita is somebody. She came to see us many years ago for a different issue. And then I saw her on Facebook exercising every day. She'd post a picture of herself after a five mile run that she did every single day with her and her husband. She was wearing glasses and she was wearing a hat. And I asked her about, you know, about 30 days in, because I was trying to cheer her on. And I said, hey, like, how's it going? Like, I see you out here every day. How are your results? And she's like, oh my God, my results suck. I'm ready to give up. And I said, oh my God, that sucks, because I see you every day. Out here. She's like, yeah, I know, it's so frustrating. I said, well, are you open to a suggestion? And she's an entrepreneur, so naturally she's coachable, right? Coachability is one of the keys to success in life, no matter what industry you're in. And she said, yeah, Satchin, tell me. I trust you. And I said, let's start by doing something really different. So before you give up, I want you to change a couple of things. Take off your hat and take off your glasses when you go for a walk in the morning, because when you block the sun from hitting your eyes, the back of your retina, you're actually decreasing the production of a neurotransmitter called dopamine. Dopamine helps us feel motivated. It squashes our cravings for fats and sugars, and it helps us feel a sense of completion and reward. If you're wearing a hat and these dark sunglasses, you're actually blocking the production of that neurotransmitter. And of course you're not going to feel motivated. And what you're also doing is you're disrupting your circadian rhythm. So your brain thinks it's dark outside, right? Like you're, your. Your body has. There's two parts of you, right? There's a conscious brain which knows, okay, it's 9 o' clock in the morning. But the unconscious brain is like, dude, is it night? What time is it right now? Because it's really dark. It's really dark outside. So you're using artificial filters to trick your body into not knowing what time of day it is. That circadian rhythm sets up the stage for all of your hormones. So if we don't balance, if we don't, if we disrupt that function, then we're not getting the benefits of being outside. So she did that. And I said, instead of going for a run, I want you to go for a walk. And she's like, is this really going to work? And I said, yes. And guess what? Here she is. In six weeks, she lost 19 pounds. She looks like her daughter almost, right? She looks like a totally younger version of herself. And of course, she did a few other things, but just simply by going easier on herself, instead of trying to kill herself every morning, she learned how to slow down, enjoy the sound of the birds, enjoy the beautiful sunshine, enjoy all the beautiful flowers and foliage and stuff that she was just running by each and every day. So we were able to take her nervous system and put it into a state of calm and relaxation. And it's when our nervous system is in that state that we burn body fat. Okay. When you're going for a run, you don't burn any body fat. You burn glycogen. Glycogen is basically stored fuel in your liver and your muscle tissue. However, if we keep our nervous system calm and relaxed, then we use fat as our primary energy source. Okay. Now if you're going out there for a run, you're adding inflammation, stress and you're then making, you're creating more work for your body, a body that already can't keep up. And can you tell what body type she is from this picture? Can anyone tell? Okay, so she's body type A. So is more intense exercise going to be helpful for her? If her adrenals are already burnt out, it's going to backfire. Right. She's going to feel like crap and she's going to feel inflamed and she's not going to recover because she's already physically showing signs of that. So for her, less was much more. Okay, super happy now that she's transformed her health. Okay, Deepa, let's talk about step number six.
Okay, so step number six is optimizing digestion. So when it comes to weight loss, a lot of the focus is on what we're eating. But one of the main focuses that we really try to emphasize is how we're eating. So one of the principles that we talk to our clients about is choose, chew, chill, cherish and check they're the five Cs. So number one is you want to choose the right foods, of course. Right. So whole foods, anti inflammatory foods, avoiding processed foods is going to be super important. Number two is chew. You want to chew your food at least 20 to 30 times per bite or until it's a baby food type of texture. Most of us, including myself, this is a constant reminder for me, only chew our food probably less than 10 times. Right. And one of the goals is to be the last ones to finish your meal at the table. Right. Versus the first one. So really optimize chewing. The third one is chill. So you want to make sure that you're in a rest and digest type of state. You want to make sure that you're in a calm and relaxed state. Right. So many of us are eating on the go, in our cars, in front of our computers, in front of our phones. We're stressed out. And when you're in a fight or flight state, you are not going to be able to digest your food properly and therefore you're not going to be able to assimilate all the nutrients from your food, which then powers your metabolic processes. You're going to want to really make sure that you chill when you're eating. And one of the best ways to do that is to take three conscious breaths before you eat. Then the fourth C was cherish. Really taking a moment for gratitude, really looking at all the colors of the food on our plate, really giving appreciation for every step involved. Just last year and this year again, we're growing some vegetables, we're gardening, we're growing some lettuce and tomatoes and peppers. You really grow an appreciation for how much time and effort it takes to grow food, give a moment of gratitude. Then the last step is check. Obviously, you want to take time to eat your food, but then you also want to check what comes out on the other side the next morning or the next day, making sure your bowel movements are well formed. If they're loose or hard or constipated, then that obviously needs to be addressed because that means that you're not digesting your food properly. So here we have my client, Nicole. And Nicole was in our program. She was this. When she posted this message, she was around week four of her program, her goal was to lose 20 pounds, which she's now achieved that. And in four weeks, she lost 15 pounds. And one of her biggest issues was the menopause belly. She had tried so many different things and just wasn't seeing any results. That stubborn menopause belly just wasn't going away. So within four weeks, we really focused on how she was digesting her food, really focused on a lot of the other things that we've spoken about today, the foods that she was choosing, optimizing meal timing, optimizing sleep, optimizing breath. And in four weeks, she's down £15.
Amazing. And she tried so many things. She actually has a pretty large following of people who also know that she's tried a whole bunch of things. So when she shared this on her Facebook page, it just blew up because. And even she's even actually now considering training with us because of all the things that she's tried. And she's. Deepa was telling me earlier. What did she say to you?
Well, she wants to, like, basically she's a nutritionist, so she wants to, you know, implement this program in. Into her practice as well.
And what I was referencing was when you were telling me that she's like, I don't know how this worked because I feel like I tried everything.
Yeah, she's Just, like, so intrigued in terms of how this process has worked for. In such a short period of time. Because she's tried so many different things. Like, if you look at this comment, this post, and all the comments, people are like, oh, did you try this diet, carnivore diet, or Shred 10? I don't know, all these different programs. And she's like, nope, nope, nope, nope. So, yeah, she's just completely fascinated by how, you know, this has. Something's finally worked for her.
Awesome. Thank you. All right, so we're gonna get ready to wrap things up here. We just got a few more minutes. Thank you all for hanging out with us. So here's the thing. Now, it might be too late in the day for some of you to hear big words like hype. Like the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis, we're going to shorten it down to HPA axis. Your HPA axis is essentially a system in your body that regulates your metabolic function. It regulates your body temperature. It regulates your appetite. It regulates how much fat you're burning, regulates your adrenal function, your thyroid function, and your sex hormone function as well. This gland is located in our brain and then is the master messenger for the rest of the body. So without a hypothalamic hypothalamus that's functioning optimally, we will always be kind of chasing our tail, so to speak. So how many of you know someone who can eat anything and they never gain weight? Type in me if you know someone like that, okay? I think we all do, right? We all kind of either envy them or are annoyed by them in some way. But here's the thing. The reason that they don't gain weight is because their HPA axis is set to that body weight. And the reason that people will gain weight, but they don't keep gaining weight, right? So some of you might be fluctuating between, you know, gaining 20 and 30 pounds. You kind of stay stuck there, right? You don't gain, like, go up to 30 pounds and 40, then 50, then 60, then 70, then 80, right? It's the reason you don't keep going up. Because naturally you would think that, okay, this should just keep going up forever. Unless there's something really wrong or something really out of balance. It's because your HP axis has been reset. So think of your HP axis like the thermostat in your house. So if you set the thermostat at, let's say, 70 degrees Fahrenheit, and somebody opens the door what happens? The air. And if it's hot outside, then the air conditioning gets cranked up and it will do whatever it takes to keep the body temperature at 70 degrees. Right? And once it gets to 70 degrees, then the air conditioning shuts off. So our body is the same way. So if our weight is set to £150, then our body will kind of maintain that weight and will always fluctuate within just a few pounds of that weight because the hormones are telling our body how much we should weigh. And so for many people, the secret sauce, in addition to some of the things that we talked about today, is resetting that thermostat. Okay. So my weight, if anything, I have a hard time gaining weight. No matter how hard I try, it's just hard for me to put on weight. And some of you are like, oh my, my God, like, I wish that was me. Well, it can be you if you have an HPA axis that's functioning properly. So here's an example. Your hypothalamus, as I mentioned, sits in your brain, sits at the base of your brain, and it's sending a message to your pituitary gland. And then your pituitary gland sends a message to your thyroid, to your adrenals, and to your reproductive organs. So it really is the master gland of reproductive health, of our stress response. And our thyroid, which is our metabolic function, it regulates our appetite and our body temperature. This is a gland that we pay close attention to. And this is something that we help our clients very specifically address with a Health Canada approved product. Here's an example of a colleague of mine. This is Dr. Suk, and Dr. Suk is actually a chiropractor with a busy practice. And you can see on the left, it might be difficult to recognize, but he's actually got a pretty big abdomen, has diabetes, and he also has hypertension. And him and I are actually the same age. So I can totally relate to the stressors that coming with running a business that come with raising a family and of course, having a practice. And he came to us because he'd been following us. We went to school together, he's been following our work for many years. And finally we just woke up one day and said, screw this, I don't want to be like this anymore. I've had enough. And he reached out to me, we got on a call, explained it to him from a scientific perspective, and he's like, oh my God, like this makes so much sense. Like, how come nobody ever taught us this? And I'm Like, I know I had to go and learn it for the last like 13 years. And he did our program. He went from where he is on the left, diabetic with hypertension, anxious, nervous, stressed out, to the person you see on the right, 66 pounds, lost in 10 weeks, no longer diabetic. And his hypertension basically disappeared. He went to go see his family doctor and his family doctor was like, dude, what the hell did you do? Because he was so blown away. And had he not done this, then he would have been on the same path, taking medications for his hypertension, taking medications for his blood sugar. At some point, you know, diabetes type 2 turns into Alzheimer's. I mean, it is a downhill battle and a losing battle for so many people. But we didn't. We did all this, guess what, we did all this without any supplements. We did all this without any lab testing. We did all this with empowerment, self awareness, a reformulated identity, a new paradigm and a new story. And guess what? It transformed his life in 10 weeks. So unless then, you know, in less than one season, people can have radical transformations that take place. Okay, so what's the secret to all this? Well, you know, here's the thing, here's the bonus tip that I can give all of you. The secret sauce to all of this is you have to find your map. And each of your maps is going to be unique. So if I told you all to come to my house, each of you is going to have a unique map that's going to bring you here because you all have different starting points. Now, some of you, if not all of you, I would say all of you need a guide, right? A guide is somebody that holds your hand through the process, that helps you see the light, helps you stay the course and not give up, right? Because there's gonna be times where you want to give up. There's going to be times where you go back to that old identity. There's going to be times where you're going to get stuck in your old paradigm. And a guide is somebody that holds your hand through the process. And the third thing that you need for success is a community. A community of like minded people, okay? People who are on a similar path and a similar journey. And many of us, especially those of us that want to be healthy or doing our best to be healthy, we are the minority, aren't we? Statistically, you are the minority. And so finding a community of people that want the same high quality, high vitality, high contribution lifestyle, you know, that's, that's a hard thing to find these days. Okay, I wish it wasn't, but it certainly is. So a map, a guide, and a community are going to be what you need in order to get the best results possible. Okay. So that's always our objective is to provide that to you. And of course, if we can help you, then we're always happy to help. So if anyone has any questions, go ahead and type those into the chat and if you want, you can raise your digital hand using the reaction button. We'll take a few questions and then we'll wrap things up. Thank you all for joining us today. All right, Stephanie says, do you have a sleep tip for women who are dealing with disrupted sleep due to young kids? All right, I'll tackle that, and I'll let Deepa add some light if she wants to. So whatever is causing your children's disrupted sleep. Children are generally the canaries in the coal mine. Okay. So think of them as a. As a window into something that could also be disrupting you. In certain cultures, there is no word for insomnia. That word doesn't exist because that problem doesn't exist. So the reason children don't sleep well these days is because they are far more sensitive to subtle energies than we are. So what are some subtle energies that could be disruptive to sleep? One is lighting. Okay. The average person is exposed to way more artificial lighting than they need to be. Artificial lighting is extremely disruptive to our nervous system, especially overhead lighting. So in nature, after it's dark, is there any light coming from overhead? Absolutely not. Right. If anything, moonlight, but that's about it. So during the evenings, if you have all this overhead lighting on that's disruptive to an adult, guess what? It's majorly disruptive to a child. Okay. And of course, that. That's going to show up in how hungry they are, because lighting affects our appetite. It's going to affect their blood sugar. Because lighting affects our blood sugar. We didn't talk about that today, but it does. Lighting affects our melatonin levels. So if you're bathing yourself in artificial light two to three hours before bedtime, especially overhead lighting, especially screens and computers and all these things that kids expose themselves to, well, guess what? I would expect that child to have disrupted sleep because we've created all the necessary assets for disrupted sleep. Another thing is children and adults are very sensitive to emf. So what are we doing to reduce EMF exposure? Some people have these WI fi monitors in their children's cribs. So of course your children are gonna have disrupted sleep. If I wanted to disrupt an adult sleep, I would put a WI FI monitor next to their head. Okay, so we need to turn off all WI fi. So we actually have a timer in our house that turns off our WI fi router. And whenever possible, like, my computer right now is hardwired. We try to hardwire our devices, but if we can't, then the second best thing we can do is turn off our WI fi, especially at night, in the middle of the night, no one's using it. So we should be sleeping okay. We can also use essential oils. So lavender essential oil can be very beneficial. We can use a weighted blanket for kids. They love feeling that safety and that safety makes them feel that they're taken care of and calms their nervous system down. Meal timing with kids is also equally important as it is for adults. So try not to feed them. You know, things that are going to disrupt their blood glucose levels. And those are some good, really good places to start. Make sure the room is dark. We anytime we give a gift, if somebody has a baby, we usually give them a lamp for the baby's bedroom, which has either, it's either a salt lamp or a red lamp and that red bulb does not disrupt melatonin production and it instantly relaxes them. Rose oil, as I mentioned earlier, that can also be beneficial in again, calming the nervous system down. We sleep so much better when we feel safe because it's when we're sleeping we are most vulnerable. So whatever we can do to increase safety is going to improve the child's sleep. All right, awesome. Any other questions? Deepa, did you want to add anything?
One more thing with sleep just and children, from a personal experiences with my son, I know the energy of the parent plays a huge role in terms of the child's sleep. So with my son, when I would try to put him to sleep, I was always in another place. I was thinking about when he goes to sleep, I'm going to sneak out of this room and I'm going to do the dishes, fold the laundry, mop the floors. And they can really sense that energy. So when Sachin had brought this to my attention, I really tried to be present with him. And you know, the work is always going to be there. So I tried to be present with him, enjoy that time with him. And I found that his sleep drastically improved when my energy shifted. So that's another big one for sleep with kids.
Yeah. Great reminder that our energy is quantumly entangled with our children especially. So when, if we are stressed out, if our nervous system is stressed and we are entangled with them, they are going to feel that stress again. They can't express that. They're not going to tell you that. Especially if they're really young. They don't even know how to express that, but they just know they don't feel safe, they don't feel calm and relaxed. And so it's really ultimately for parents it starts with us and if we can start with ourselves, then that makes all the difference in the world. All right, Sarah's asking, will these Interventions help reset the HP axis. So Sarah, what you. So yes and no. So part of it is you want to reset the HP axis in conjunction to doing these things you would want to reset. And as you're resetting, do joyful exercise, work on meal timing, work on sleep optimization. Because the message that we're sending to the brain is that these are the optimum conditions in order for me to thrive in. We send a message through this homeopathic formula that we use and we send a message through the environment that we're creating around you in order for you to be successful at not just losing the weight, but then ultimately keeping it off. And then remember, the identity is a big part of it as well. So we can all find ourselves back exactly where we started if we don't change our environment and our identity and our paradigm. Okay, so Kerry's asking, is this product available to individuals without a full program? Not at this time, it's not. It might be in the near future, probably in the next like four to six months, we'll be potentially rolling out a program where it's kind of a self study and you could go through the process with a group of people. Right now, in case you're wondering, we do have multiple levels and budgets that we work with people in. So we've typically found that the. Because our goal is to keep things as affordable and accessible as we can, we've actually introduced a, a level of, of our program that's only 999. So that's a significant savings from some of our other programs. So we have something that can fit pretty much everyone's budget and we do have also financing options for people as well. So we try to again, keep things affordable. You actually want a coach, right? So if I go back to what you need, you need a map, a guide and a community. And a supplement is none of those things, right? It's a supplement, it's a product, or it's a, you know, intervention. But that's part of the journey. Okay. So we don't want to just give you this product and then assume that the rest of the stuff is going to fall into place. It usually doesn't work that way because you need a roadmap that's unique to you. You need a guide who's going to support you. And of course you want to be surrounded by a community. So that's my recommendation. This is something that once you learn this and master this, you only ever have to learn it once. So you may as well learn it correctly and then Continue down that path so that you're not having to become dependent on somebody else. So it's kind of like learning how to drive. Once you learn how to drive, then you're independent. You can drive anywhere you want on your own. No matter how far away from home you are, if you know how to drive, you can always find your way back or get where you want to go. So that's our goal and objective with our clients is to. Is to really map out a solution, guide them through the process and then provide them with a community. Okay. And like I said, you can always set up a call to speak with Deepa. She's happy to answer any questions that you have, review your form and then individually guide you in the right direction. And we only work with people who we feel like we can truly create transformation for. And if we can't, we always point you in the right direction so that you could find what you're looking for. All right, awesome. Well, it's 8:30, so it's getting close to our bedtime and we want to try to turn the lights off at least two hours before bedtime. So thank you all for tuning in today. Thank you for your time and attention and I see that some of you have already scheduled a call. So congratulations on taking that next step in moving forward. And hopefully one of these days we'll be sharing your case study and talking about how you joined a webinar and wanted to change your identity, upgrade your paradigm and you decided you're not going back, that you're going to create transformation for yourself through a process, a proven process on a system. We're always happy to help you through that. So thank you all. Deepa, any final words you want to share before we jump off?
I'm looking forward to speaking with some of you on the call and just diving a little deeper and hopefully we can guide you and support you in your weight loss journey and your health journey.
Right?
Really? I know for many of you it's weight loss, but when we dig deeper, it's the non scale victories which I find are way more impactful to your overall health.
Awesome. Thank you. Love to you all. Have an amazing evening and we'll talk to you shortly. Bye for now everyone.
