We have a methodology that we talk about in our practice called autonomic pairing. Has anyone heard this term? Probably not, because I invented it. So you'll all know about this now. So autonomic pairing is actually pairing our nervous system with the activity that we are trying to accomplish. So if I'm trying to digest my food, where should blood be going? To my digestive organs. Right. Guess what? Most people do they eat in a state of rest and digest, or do they eat in a state of fight or flight? Fight or flight. So they're not even sending blood to the organ that's actually doing the task. When we're in fight or flight, there's an 80% decrease of blood flow to our digestive system. When we're in fight or flight, there's a 90% decrease of blood flow to our liver and kidneys. 80 to 90% of the blood flow goes away from the trunk, and it goes to the arms and legs. So we can run away from that thing that doesn't even exist.
