A short monologue by Vivian Weyll (YouTube) describing her hiring philosophy and work ethic as a founder/CEO. She emphasizes the need for passionate, self-starting team members who work hard, love their work, and feel part of something; she will not hire people who seem unhappy or overwhelmed. The message links team attitude to company growth and potential.
For us to be able to really grow, we wouldn't be able to do it without them. We have game changers. We have self starters. We have people that go to work just like we do, that works the hours and don't complain about it. I feel like every single time I hire somebody to be part of our team, and if I have an inkling of a feeling that they are not happy or that they are overwhelmed or it's too much for them, I don't want to work with them. And the reason is because I've never felt like that. I've never felt like that. And people say, oh, it's different. You're the founder, you're the CEO. But it doesn't matter. Because if you have an army of people that are there doing their best, love what they are, do they feel like they're part of something, then the sky's the limit.
