Vivian Weyll delivers a short monologue arguing that college degrees do not determine life or business success. She emphasizes personal traits—grit, work ethic, resilience, and entrepreneurial drive—as the real drivers of wealth, and contrasts origins of millionaires (financial industry, real estate) with billionaires (private equity, serial business builders).
College degree has nothing to do with the level of success you're going to achieve in life. If you look at some of the most successful people in this world, a lot of them don't even have college degrees. And the reason is because there are certain things that you can't learn in college. Grit, work ethic, the ability of overcoming obstacles and adversity. So the reality is, you have people that are able to do all of the things that are required to succeed in business. They have never been to college. The majority of the millionaires today, they come from either the financial industry or real estate. But if you look at billionaires, they come from private equity. They come from building businesses over and over and over again. So if you look at the trend, being a business owner, being an entrepreneur has nothing to do with you going to college or not. It has to do with you.
