A short YouTube conversation (March 2024) between Vivian Weyll and another speaker contrasting two approaches to following up with prospects: a strict “3 no” rule that stops after three unanswered attempts, versus a more persistent, empathetic outreach strategy that continues contacting leads because timing or life circumstances may change. The piece advocates for not giving up on requested leads and finding the right moment to reconnect.
I have a 3 no rule. If I reach out and there's no response, that's one rule. If I reach out and there's no response, that's two no's. On the third reach out, I simply say this isn't the right time. When it is, please get back to me. You never have to talk to that closed mind again. You just saved a ton of time.
Okay, well, I can respect that and I understand that might work for a lot of people. I however, think that sometimes the that person that you're reaching out to is going through something and maybe next week it will be different. So even though, you know, when it comes to our business or adelife, we work leads and we do have a lot of leads, so we have a lot of prospects to contact. I usually tell my agents, don't ever give up on the people that you haven't been able to contact because you never know if it was the wrong time for them at that time. So it doesn't hurt to just, you know, send a text message or reach out and see if you can find the right time. That's my view. I don't believe in giving up on people and if they requested the information for whatever reason, they do need it. And you just have to find that right time. Follow for more business education.
