Content Creation Made Easy

Sally Curtis shows how to turn one 60-minute recording into 20-40 content pieces. Send it to Rev.com for a 5,000-word transcript, then split it into articles, blog posts, social clips, and a podcast. Any recorded conversation—presentations, client calls, coaching sessions—becomes a content goldmine.

Hi, Sally here today wanting to share some insights with you as to how easy content creation can really be. Like most things I find in the work that I do as a marketing problem solver, many of us, including me once upon a time, overcomplicated this whole process and started from a place of overwhelm when it came to content creation. Just today I've just sat down and realized a system that I've put in place that perhaps I've forgotten because I'm used to using it so often that I wanted to share with you very, very quickly in a quick video. I did an hour's presentation for a social media college here in Adelaide a few months ago, and so I've just downloaded that video from their website and have access to it. That video has now gone to Rev.com where it's being transcribed. So let me share with you what will happen and what is happening now with that 60-minute presentation that I did. It started as a video. It will now go into a transcript. That transcript, which will be about 5,000 words, will end up as a article. That article is more than likely going to be able to be broken down into 3 smaller articles, so giving me a potential total of 4 articles. That content will be able to be broken down into between 6 and probably 15 different pieces of social media educational content. So that's a little bit of wording, a few tips and tricks with a social media tile. Those articles will obviously become blog posts, so we've got multiple blog posts going out. The video itself can be repurposed. I can put it on my YouTube channel as an educational piece, and of course I can pull the audio from that to create a podcast as well. So this is why I talk to you all and encourage you all to record the things that you do whenever you're speaking or talking to a client or having a coaching session or anything like that, those opportunities are gold opportunities for you to create content, content that you've created very easy— easily while you're in flow that you can repurpose and break down into other forms of content. This is how you can very easily take one piece of content, the video that I started with, and break it into at least 20 or 40 different pieces of content, which is exactly what I'll be doing with it. So So I could give you a bit of a number count. We did a 60-minute video. We've got at least 15 social media educational posts. We'll have at least 4 blog posts. We'll have 4 articles. We'll have the original video, which we can probably split into another 3. And of course, we'll have a podcast. Again, that could probably be split into 3 as well. 60 minutes into a magical number of repurposed content, which makes your content creation easy.
