My journey actually started, um, in the rooms of, of Al-Anon. Um, what, 35 years ago or so is when I really started learning that I needed to take a look at me, and I started learning about some of the— my behaviors that I incorporated with my— when I'm raising my children. I didn't understand any of that at the time and how it really, um, all ties in with the narcissism. Because all of those behaviors, the, for heaven's sakes, the codependency, the enabling, all of those things that I learned as a defense mechanism, which is what we do when we're in a relationship that is narcissistic or very controlling. Mm-hmm. I don't profess that everybody that is controlling isn't necessarily a narcissist. Um, I think I believe that we all have a little bit of narcissistic tendencies.
