Success Secrets Exposed - Bamboo Wisdom -- Tips for Sustainable Growth

Nancy, Trish, and Susan run the Women's Prosperity Network, a coaching community for women entrepreneurs. They built it from a title company in the 2000s by playing to each sister's strength: Trish in sales and communication, Nancy in leadership strategy, Susan in messaging and mindset. They use the bamboo analogy for sustainable growth and treat every person as "the one."

Good evening, good morning, and good day to you all. I am super excited that you've joined us again today, and I have a power-packed, inspirational, and empowering episode for you today. I have 3 fabulous ladies joining us on the show today. That's right, 3 ladies, and they are in actual fact all sisters. That's right, they're blood sisters that work in business together. Now they run the Women's Prosperity Network together, and they also have their own unique individual inner genius, which you'll also get to experience today. So it's going to be a power-packed show and very, very exciting. For those that are new to the show, I'm a marketing strategist for for speakers, coaches, and consultants specializing in content repurposing and LinkedIn. And it's my role to help you amplify your voice, your message, and your impact. Now, when it comes to impacts, these 3 ladies are doing just that. They're creating global impacts, individual impacts in their own rights, and making significant differences out in their communities. I've been lucky enough to join their community and been speaking to many of their members this week and only keep hearing, oh, we love those girls. They've done so much for me and my business and my growth, etc. So let me give you a little bit of an insight to them. I see their inner genius myself in this way as sales, people, and service. So let me explain that to you. I do have notes today as I've got so many guests. on. So Trish is a sales and marketing and communication expert, and Trish combines proven sales strategy along with the latest behavioral science to create simple sales solutions and conversations. And she has a book called It's Just a Conversation. And isn't selling just a conversation when we don't overcomplicate it? Then we have Nancy, who is a leadership sales and marketing expert. And to me, she's the people person. She really, really understands people. She has a perfect blend of business expertise, which are extraordinary, as well as authenticity and heart. So she really brings all of the people elements to life and the individuals to life. Then we have Susan, who is our messaging, follow-up, and our mindset and mastery mentor. And she helps to show busy, busy business professionals how to have peace and be effective. So none of this rushing woman scenario. She also has a background, like the other ladies, in corporate America, network marketing, and sales. And her deep desire is to be of service, which is why I've heard so much, we just love Susan. So let me share with you 3 Fabulous women from the Women's Prosperity Network. Please help me welcome Nancy, Trish, and Susan.
Hello, hello, hello. Good morning, good evening, good day.
That was perfect.
It was. I loved, I loved it about, oh, we just love Susan. We hear that all the time. Susan's the— Susan is loved because it's unusual for Susan to do a broadcast and this type of thing. So she also, uh, she's on the phone with people all the time and they love her.
And I love them back.
Yeah, I, I was super excited to be able to have you on board as well, Susan. I have to tell you, you tend to be more in the background and the, the wind between everybody else or underneath everybody's wings. But I could certainly feel dashes of you when I spoke to Stephanie this week as part of my onboarding process as well. So excellent. Yeah, which is—
I'm honored to be here.
Thank you very, very much. So ladies, can I ask you a little bit as to how did 3 sisters have a conversation and actually start a project together?
It was all Nancy's fault. It was all Nancy's fault.
Well said, sister. Well said. Well said.
Go ahead and talk about it, Nancy.
Yeah, so, uh, let me go— let me take you way back in time. Uh, I owned a title company in the early 2000s. So title is the, you know, when you buy and sell real estate, there's a company that handles the transaction. So I had a title company, real estate investment company, and Susan and Trish were both working in that business with me. And this was in the early 2000s here in the States, and business was booming. It was wonderful. This brand new business grew very, very quickly. And about 2 years in, I remember sitting at my office one day and just kind of looking around and go, I don't really like this anymore. But here I was, I had created a company that employed, uh, my 2 sisters, my niece, and my best friend. And what am I gonna do, just like all of a sudden stop? So at that point, uh, we talked about— we were doing a lot of real estate investing, and that's when we first got into actually doing coaching because People were asking us, you know, how are you making all this money buying and selling properties? So we started a coaching company doing real estate events, seminars, and things of that nature. And then I was at an event to improve my speaking skills because I was not good. I would venture to say I sucked, if that's okay.
Don't be so hard on yourself. You, you, you were above sucking.
I was terrified. I was scared. I didn't want to do it, but I knew I needed to. So, I went to a training to improve on my speaking skills. And sitting at this event, one of the leaders of the event gets on stage and he says, I'm looking around this room. There's 60, 80 people here and there's so few women. We need more women speakers. We need more women leaders. And we need women who will act like women, not women acting like men. And, and Sally, you know, I've never been like a woman's libber. Like, I never like picked up that banner. That's really Trish, and she'll tell you about that. But something happened that day, and in the pit of my stomach, I, I just was impelled to jump out of my chair and say, that's me. And I saw myself as, you know, the leading woman real estate expert. That was the vision that I had. And at that event, someone approached me and said, hey, I'm starting this women's seminar company, and we could really use an amazing woman like you and a real estate expert. Let's talk. And that's how this path began. And I'll tell you about some challenges in a little bit.
Beautiful. And then from that launching into that, how did you see your role, Trish, as that started, the evolution of that? And Susan, if you can share a little bit as well. And we're getting inundated with
questions too. When we eventually came around to— there's challenges Nancy will definitely share about starting that seminar company with other people. And when that wasn't the right road, We were together, and Susan and I, you know, we've always been— we're so lucky, okay? So people always say to us, you're so lucky that you have your sisters and you're really close, because unbeknownst to me, a lot of families aren't tight like we are. But we've always been, at least in our adult lives, you know, we've always been really close, had each other's backs.
I was always real close to you as a kid. You just didn't like it.
That's right. She was my little sister. She was always in the way. You know, I'm going out, you're not coming with me, get out of here, you know, that kind of thing. Yes. But I'll tell you that when she said, I still want to do this thing, I said, I'm totally on board. I was already— because I had worked in the corporate environment, and what I did in corporate was I had been in sales, moved up the ladder, then moved into human resources, into training and sales. And one of the things that I was so lucky to be at a progressive company that not only taught skills in terms of how to sell, it also taught how to be the best you, you could be because they knew that that was the foundation of everything. I wanted to always share that. At the time, I was working on a project to support women who were, most of them single with children and dealing with all of the red tape required to get assistance financially from the government and how challenging it was for them and how challenging life was for them. They wanted to work. They didn't want to take government assistance. So I had already been involved in supporting women in being the best they can be and navigating their own lives, and this just seemed the perfect thing for me to move to women who were at the next level of life, who knew they wanted the, the next level, who knew they were really— they were fighting for the life that they wanted to have. So when Nancy was, you know, redoing what she was up to, I was like, I'm there 100%, uh, whatever I can do. So that's how that happened for me. For Susan, I'm sure it's Similar, but we all have a little different history.
Right. For me, Nancy and I have worked together for almost as long as I can remember in one area or another. Trish stepped out for a while and went to Atlanta, but Nancy and I have always worked together. And so anything Nancy does, I'm in, to be honest with you. She's genius. There's just no two ways about it. Nancy says, I'm going to go over there. I say, great, go. I'm right behind you supporting you, and I'll keep up with you as fast as I can. Nancy's our visionary with guts.
Yes, so much so. I was just going to say that, so you beat me to it. So thank you so much.
Yep, that's who she is. And so that, you know, I, I was all in and we grew very quickly. And I have to be honest with you, if you had told me prior to the start of Women's Prosperity Network that I would be hanging around with women, I would have told you you were insane. Because I did not like what was happening out in the world of business to women.
Yeah.
And I didn't like the way women responded to what was happening. So I was always off to the side, and I would find 1 or 2 or 3 people, of course, you know, that were more forward thinkers like me, that were entrepreneurs, as I like to call us, as opposed to employees. But I didn't— I had no idea that there were hundreds of thousands of us. I had no idea. So it still blows my mind today to know that I can be part of a community and a movement like this to really stand up with women and make a big impact in the world. Yeah, that's kind of my story.
Yeah, so you, you're very much driven by what I'm going to call— and I see in my son a lot— that advocacy of, you know, standing united. Which has obviously been led by Nancy and supported by Trish. And that's something that I've certainly witnessed in this last week connecting with a few, just a few of the community on LinkedIn, and everyone's sort of saying, oh, it's done this for me, together we do that, or it's helped me in this way, the girls are just great. So that's just so super significant from an impact perspective of how people are standing, as you said, Susan, together, or women are standing together. Right. So what have you seen over the years? Because you started the Women's Prosperity Network in 2008. What have you seen as the significant shift in women's self-belief and that ability to unite and step up? Now, that's a bit of a deep question.
Well, let me— I'll take that first. What's interesting is when people come to our community, is some people come with a little bit of a guarded approach. Um, you know, not sure what it's going to be. And typically in the networking world, we're showing up, oh, I'm Nancy and I'm absolutely wonderful and here's what I do and you should do business with me, right? It's just that, that piece. It's not— I've seen a shift in that, and, and it could be because I live in my own bubble to a degree. Um, But what I see happening is when women come into our community, they come with something that they want that's bigger than them.
Hmm.
They come with that already. Like, that's, that's something that's, that's within them, that they see a glimmer, whether it's talking to someone else, that they'll get the support they need, the resources, the coaching. And what I notice is the moment they come They feel a bond with the other women, oftentimes like they've never experienced with women, really lifting each other up and supporting each other. And that goes back to what Susan was saying a few minutes ago. And, and because of that level of support, they believe more than ever that what— that, that thing inside of them, it really could happen. And it really comes from, from the, this, this beautiful community.
Yeah, you just give— I write one word down when I get an essence of something. I think my experience is the whole, the wholeheartedness as an individual. You go in and you put your little, your little toe in, but you experience from the community and therefore become wholehearted.
Beautiful, beautifully said.
Yeah, the other thing I think is that I was talking about this today, is I— and you'll, you, you girls are going to laugh at me because I have this thing about the whole women's empowerment. I think that one of the things that can come from that expression is the inference that you don't already have power. The inference that you're somehow weaker and you need someone to hand you power. And we come from, you have the power. We just show you, support you, love you, so that you step into the power that you already have.
Mm.
So we see you as someone who's here when you might not see yourself there yet. And I think that's a big difference in the empowerment world, is seeing someone as whole, complete, already, already powerful.
So
yeah, and if I may, could I dovetail on that real quick? The, the other piece of that is the way that since the beginning, you know, 13 years ago, the way that we format or structure our events is and always includes an opportunity for each and every woman to give voice and expression to their thoughts, their opinion. So we've, we've had masterminding within our events since the very beginning. And when you can sit in a circle of 6 women, you know, even if you're in a room with 100 people, and someone says, so what do you think about that? Do you have any input for it? How could I blah blah blah blah blah? And then you give your suggestion or input and it's valued. Where many times our voices get silenced, whether it's in corporate or in our families. When you're in a space where your voice is valued, that builds— you sit up a little taller, you get a little more confidence, you'll say the next thing. And that's the culture that we live in.
Yeah. Very, very true. There's none of that, what we call diminishing here in Australia. You're not diminishing, you're not shrinking, you're not doing that. You're actually doing that, and you grow as people get to experience the community. Susan, would you like to add anything to that?
Just that, you know, I'm in total alignment. And one of the— that's the thing that I love about our community and what I love to do personally. So one of my gifts, if you will, is being able to have a conversation with somebody and see them light up from the inside out because now they know who they are. Has nothing to do with me. It has to do with them recognizing, whoa, you know, and that, that brings such joy. And that happens in our community consistently, consistently. So I love that. And like Trish and Nancy said, now they're elevated to a much higher level and now they're contributing You know, so I like to say we source and we resource within the community.
Yeah, let me just jump in here real quick because what you do has a lot to do with why people light up. I mean, don't sell yourself short because honestly, you listen. People want to be heard. People want to feel like they belong. People want to feel like they're cared about. And you have a skill.
I do. It's a gift, actually.
Exactly. And people feel that from you. And I, I dare say they feel it from all of us. And you— that you have a real gift for that. So not everybody can speak to people and see them light up because they don't have the reciprocity that you do.
True.
So I'm patting you on the back, sister.
Thank you. Tricep exercise.
There you go.
And it's why everybody says, I love Susan. And you, Sally, you even said it. You hadn't met her yet.
Absolutely. Um, and that's been that experience. So for me, I sort of see that from a gift perspective, as you're able to see the gifts in others and actually able to demonstrate their gifts back to them during the conversation that you're having. So therefore they feel themselves And they grow in their confidence.
Exactly.
Exactly. They've seen it or felt it come back from somebody else. So, um, as we've all said, that is an extraordinary gift. So well done. Um, can I also ask, um, as 3 strong women, how have you defined your roles? And I can see that now that you all operate from your own inner genius, but how do you— have you defined your roles and how have you kept it together As sisters, um, as strong women, uh, over the years, has there been any significant challenges or significant learnings that you're willing to share?
Oh, it's been a breeze. No problem. Yeah,
we don't have any conflict. I
must tell you, when the 3 of us are together, people love the sister show.
Yeah. Sorry, I cut you off.
Oh. They love the sister show, Susan. What do you mean by that?
Because we interact so naturally and authentically, and, you know, we each have a different personality, totally different, as you can see. And yet there's some that blends across, you know. One of my favorite stories about our growth and expansion as a company of sisters is when we used to sit down quite a while ago and we would have a meeting. And because we see things from a different vantage point You know, that flower looks different to me than it does to you than it does to Nancy. We would sit down and have a meeting, and I would hear 2+ 2= 4. Trish would hear or be trying to communicate that 1+ 3= 4. And so Nancy, our multilingual person— she speaks Susan, she speaks Nancy, she speaks the world— was able to really Put that together for us so that we were all on using the same language. And that was a learning for us, you know, to realize that, oh yeah, you say 2 plus 2. Oh, that's right. You say 3 plus 1. And so once I— we learned that, it made our communication so much better. Not that it wasn't good to begin with, but at certain junctures that would come up. And so I think that's a really important piece when you're in business with anyone, not just your sisters, is to recognize the different characters, I'll call it, you know, the different personalities and how they can blend really well together if you have an awareness around it.
Yeah, I'm thinking about— okay, so I'm thinking about our different personalities because we've all done different personality profiles. Luckily, all of us have a driving piece of our personality. We move things forward. Each of us has a people part, although I'd have to say Susan and Nancy have a bigger people part than me. I tend to be very bottom line, very concrete. Nancy is truly the visionary. Like, I'll never forget, so we do an annual event. We used to call it the Unconference, and we always wanted it to be fun and exciting and not just come and listen to a bunch of talking heads, right? So Nancy would always be— Nancy's the creative. She's the one who thinks of, wow, wouldn't this be cool? Or wouldn't that be fun? And so Nancy goes, we're having a meeting, and Nancy goes, and then these 2 dancers are going to come on stage. I'm like, what's next, the horses? Are you bringing in the horses? So Susan always goes, whatever you want, I can make it happen. And I'm over there going, wait a minute, do we even want to make this happen? So we have all these different roles. You know, Susan is looking for, okay, I can make that happen. And I'm like, wait a minute, maybe not, you know. So I think I'm the one that tries to poke the holes because I'm so concrete, right?
And yes, and we just had an example of that this week.
Yes, we did.
Yeah, and it was wonderful because somebody had brought us an idea and Nancy and Susan went, oh yeah, that sounds great, let's try that. But let's, you know, we're going to sit and we're going to flush it out amongst the 3 of us first. And then we brought it to Trish and Trish, thank goodness, straightened us out.
And Trish said, wait a minute, why are we doing this? Just because somebody thinks it's a good idea? I don't think so. So yeah,
we get excited right away. Oh yeah, let's do that. And Tricia really helps ground us. So I love that about her. I'm so grateful.
But you know what the thing is? We know where we want to go. We have a, we have a mission. We have, we have our goals that we want to meet as a, as an, as a community, as an organization. So we always have something tactical, strategic to ground us. So while we may get off on the heart taking over— what a great idea— we can always look at those foundational things that we do as a business to keep us moving in the right direction.
Right.
So let's talk, and I'd love all of your feedback on this. Let's talk about those foundational things from a, from a business growth perspective, because I know you've all grown your individual projects this year, and I'd love you to talk about bit about that later. But let's also talk about what are the foundations of your Women's Prosperity Network that enable you to keep moving forward, that are the shining lights that you go back to before you take those huge jumps?
So let me, let me, I'll start with that one though. And this I share with everyone who's listening who does have a business or an idea or a project. is know your why. And it seems a little cliché, and we, you know, we talk about it a lot, but do you really know your why? What's your vision? And the way that we developed, right, you know, in the beginning as we were forming the company, was we spent 2 days with a facilitator that helped us hone our vision, craft our mission, and define our values. Because your values— there have been many rocky seas and storms over the years. I've made, you know, this visionary tries a lot of stuff. Not all of it works. Some of it does and some of it doesn't. So the key is when you are really clear on your vision, your mission, and your values, no matter what happens, you always go back to that. That's the guiding light. And over the years, as our company has developed and we've grown and expanded, and this idea didn't work and that, that idea did, and it was really fantastic, the yardstick is always those things. And we've always had a vision of expansion and being global, and we had a chapter model. where people would meet locally in different locations and we'd train people and have chapter leaders. And when we first launched the, the, that model of the business after growing for the first year, we had 6 come in to be chapter leaders and none of them stayed.
Hmm.
So what was broken, so to speak? So we learned about a better selection process and a vetting process. We improved our leadership training, you know. So you always just— you keep moving forward. Uh, 2 years later, what was really fascinating to me, 2 years later I believe it was, we decided to do another round of expansion. We had some successful chapters, things were going well, and it was like, all right, let's do another call for leaders. And we did it via teleconference. And as I was getting ready for the call For all these people to share the vision of Women's Prosperity Network and what it means to be a leader in the community. I pulled out my notes from 2 years prior and I didn't have to change a thing because the vision and the values stayed the same. And I could read that same script outline today and the vision and the values are the same.
Yep.
Can I— I'm gonna go around around the room, so to speak, but I just want to ask one question. When you were going through that process, you actually had a facilitator.
Yes.
Did you find that was paramount that you had somebody with fresh eyes helping you go through
that? Having somebody who was objective that could hear us. So while Susan says I can speak all the languages, I also speak my own language.
Right.
So in that process, to come up with something really pristine, and that's it, a good vision, a good solid business base will be pristine and clear of personal agendas. Yes, you want to grow your business, it wants to be profitable, and you want to have an impact. And Sally, you know full well that when you focus on impact, income happens, right? So When especially when you're talking about three pretty strong personalities coming together, each of us with a different idea of what it should be like or could be like. Da da da da. That objective facilitator was able to listen and find the common thread.
Yeah, yeah. No, it's beautiful. And Trish, you've got a smile on your face, so I'm sure there's something you're gonna wanting to add there, and then I'm going to ask.
I was just thinking back to that first session, and had we not had a facilitator, we would have been there 5 days or so.
We might still be there now.
We might still be there today. They could cut through all the noise, if you know what I mean.
And, and we still do that today. So when we're looking to expand, add some goals, do some changes, we always have people A coach, you know, to guide us on that process because we know it's the smart thing to do.
Yeah.
You know, it cuts out so many mistakes and so many I don't knows. And like Trish said, so many conversations that could go on for 5 or 6 years.
Um, well, and that's the
difference. That's different between a facilitator because the facilitator hears you pull pulls out what you said. The coach hears you, does their best to help you get to the right answer, but when you don't get to the right answer, the coach tells you the right answer, right? So, you know, we, we work with, uh, people, and we have— we also have men in our community as well, although we're mostly women. But we work with people and we provide consulting, we provide coaching. So I would never hire somebody who didn't live what they were teaching. So we have coaches, right? You've got to.
I'm really glad you said that because that's something that's very strong in mine. And I'm surprised, often surprised when people don't want to do, do go down that avenue. And Australia is certainly embracing of that a lot more now, which is great. So thank you very much for sharing that because I think that's From my own experience and the scaling that I've experienced, and I see others scale really, really well, it's because of the, the coaches that they bring in at the right time to help them with the right thing that's got expertise, been there, done that experience in that right area. And it's not about having one coach, it's having multiple coaches at the right time, at the right place for the right thing to create the growth.
So yes, really, can I dovetail on that?
Absolutely.
So here's what's interesting is that in business and entrepreneurship, somehow there's this belief that if I can't figure it out all on my own, I'm not good enough. I'm not hiring a coach. I'm not paying that kind of money. I should be able to figure it out. I'll figure it out. Well, how many mistakes and challenges are you going to need to experience that maybe you wouldn't have had to? But I bet— what's the most, um, favored sport in Australia?
Football.
So
if Australian Rules, which is different to soccer.
Okay. And if you want to be an excellent football player, are you going to get there without a coach? That's okay, that's acceptable. There's, there's a, there's something that's out of alignment. We're talking about excellence. It doesn't matter whether it's in business. What if you want to get in shape and get healthy? You hire a coach, a fitness coach. If you want to play sports and get better at a skill, if you want to learn music, you hire a coach. And it's, it's the same thing for your business. That's how I see it.
Yeah. Well said. So Susan, I just want to move on to what's, what projects you're working on for 2021, just to make sure we've got some, some of that highlighted, because I know there's lots of exciting things happening.
There are, there are. And my main focus is the global expansion for our company. So that's the thing that I am most focused on this year and where I'm putting most of my effort, because I, I feel that we really need to open up and expand and bring more women into this community and this movement.
Beautiful. Are you expanding into particular countries? So just talk about the specifics of that expansion so the rest of the, the rest of the network and the community that's listening can go, oh, I know somebody over there, I can refer them so we can—
Right. Well, we've been given the gift of doing everything online now instead of meeting in person. which is really the catalyst for us to be able to move to the next level quickly. You know, we've already had some people with us from England, a couple from Italy, one or two from Australia. But now those numbers are really growing as a result of everybody having access.
Yeah.
So the efforts are not focused in one particular area or another. It's, you know, focused across the board where— and what happens with us is people once they become part of our community, can't wait to invite everybody that they know. So that's how the expansion happens. And because we're all online now, it's happening very, very quickly. So I'm excited. And then keeping up with that and serving that community, you know. So those are all the things that I focus on.
Yeah, beautiful. And Trish, you're focusing and working on the, um, your book, um, as it relates to— I've lost my notes, sorry. Um, the— it's
just a conversation. Yeah. So, um, this book, and I wrote it several years ago yet, um, it's just a conversation, and, and it's what to say and how to say it in business. And along with Susan and Nancy, I'm also part of the global expansion, and I'm focusing— it's so funny, today I was sending emails, and I sent emails to somebody in Malaysia Israel, the Netherlands, and London. On a list of maybe 20 people, I had 4 people from those countries. So that was pretty cool.
Yeah.
Right? But, you know, the idea is my goal is to support people in being able to message what it is they do. We work with so many talented people. And when you ask them, so how do you serve? You know, how do you make a difference? I wrote the book with my partner because 2 things would happen when you ask that question. One would be they would give you an answer that was so out there that you would have to ask, you know, what do you— so I had one person say to me, I give a face to businesses and I make sure that online your face is seen. And I'm like, well, tell me a little bit more about that. And after the— after I pulled all of stuff. It was basically, I make websites. So I came back and I said, so you develop websites that make people money? Is that what you do? Yes, that's what I do. So it's like you go this sing-songy way. So either they're going down a road that's not going to really be direct and help you. The other is they have no idea what to say. So they start their introduction, what do you do? Or how do you serve? Well, I wear a lot of hats. I'm like, oh, that's very— that'll get me confident in you. So my— so what I want to do and what, what really makes me jazzed up is supporting people and showing them how they can be direct with their message so people want to know more rather than try to figure out on their own more.
Yeah, beautiful. I've, um, just when you were talking about sharing that, the experience of the conversation you had with that person. I actually thought that they were going to be a photographer.
Exactly. So did I. I'm like, what are you talking about? You give businesses a face.
Yeah.
Right.
And I must just— I also just want to edify the fact that when I joined one of the online networking groups, and the women there, that was the thing that blew, blew me away from a networking perspective in that introductory perspective, because here in Australia we do what I'll call it a 30-second pitch, you know, who are you? And it's like boring, boring, vanilla, vanilla, great, end of story. Whereas I joined your community and the ladies would— and some of the beautiful men that I met would go, hey, my name's this, I live in this area, I serve these people, I work in those areas, these are the common problems that they have, I help them with these solutions, and the people I'm looking for right now are X. And I've gone, oh my God, is that the way to network? And that was what my very first experience— and it was so easy to interact with them and be able to help.
Yeah, yeah, because you actually knew who you were talking to and what they were looking for. And then the other thing is that, you know, with that, I want you to share who you are, because it's not just about your business. Tell me about you. Do you have family? Do you have children? You know, what do you love to do? So that's the other side of it, is we marry the business tactical strategic with the human being so that together you like them, you like me, not just know me from a business perspective.
And that's that humanness thing coming back in again. So thank you. And Nancy, do share with us what your, your exciting project with The One Philosophy that you've got coming up.
So, uh, I wrote this little book called The One Philosophy, and here's what's so funny. I did the first edition— look what I have, all of these— I did the first edition in 2013, I did a second edition in 2016, and in 2021, um, releasing the 3rd edition. And the reason that I'm doing a 3rd edition is, first of all, I have grown over the years. And there's, there's more depth to how the ONE philosophy works. And I'll share what it is in a moment. And this is something that's been in my heart, in my spirit for 11 years now. It was when I first had this like realization about the ONE philosophy and being the one for others. And somebody— I was at a networking event or mastermind earlier today, and they said, answer this question: what's the thing you've been whispering that you're ready to roar?
Great question.
And I've been whispering about the ONE philosophy, and now it's time to roar. And the reason is is the, the one philosophy is about creating connections to unite humanity.
Beautiful. Just had a couple of questions come up in the chat box as well. Somebody's just asked, do they need to start with the first, uh, first edition?
No. Yeah, yeah, no. And just wait, the, the 3rd edition will be out in a couple of weeks, so sit tight. Like, you know, I don't— I should say go buy it now, but no. Hold on, follow me. And you'll get the 3rd edition because I enhanced it with some exercises and activities to support us. So if I may, the ONE philosophy is about treating each and every person that you meet everywhere— supermarket, restaurant, gas station, networking, in business, in your home— every person you meet, treat them as the one, that same way you would treat somebody who you thought was the one. You know, whether it's the next best client, your future spouse, the person that's going to get a hookup for you for something you really want. Years ago, I noticed that when I and others think we're in the presence of someone who's the one, all of a sudden we pay better attention, we have more respect, we place more value on them. Because we think they can do something for us. That's what it means. And it felt really yucky to me when I discovered that in my own behavior. So I just started treating everyone I meet as the one. And it was amazing to see how people light up, how they share, how they're honest and authentic. And it's because when you treat everyone you meet as the one, You're responding to that most basic human need. And Trish talked about it earlier, to be seen, to be valued, to be heard. We're all craving that. And so, so, so the book has progressed as I've gotten feedback, you know, oh, I love that, Nancy. I want to be that way, but it's really hard to do it all the time. Yeah, I can get that. So the book contains a practical guide to being able to be the one who does treat everyone that way.
Beautiful. Thank you very much for sharing that. There's a few more questions. What I might have to do, because they're actually coming through, is, uh, come back to you girls and ask them off the show and then actually put them into the group, etc. We're running out of our time, as I thought we would do. The juicy content and the love and the care and the sharing that you all are able to share. So from a wrap-up perspective, is there anything that you would like to, to add, to share, or to impart from your perspective as it relates to the Women's Prosperity Network and helping people empower themselves or feel their own empowerment? Probably Probably a better way of saying
it. Yeah, that's a good one. I think that, um, you know, it's been referred to here, and I think it's, it's not to give up. You know, if you have something you want to accomplish and something you want to do, you put that vision out to the universe, to God, to whatever your power is, and know that as soon as you declare it, the universe is already setting up to give it to you. Now the thing to know is that it may not look like what you expect, because it doesn't look like what I expected. Here we are years later, right? Right. We started with a chapter model. Now we're away from that, and now it's a global online community. And it takes— you know, I talked about it a little bit. I think about the bamboo, right? You put a bamboo in the ground and it's 5 years before before it actually sprouts up because it needs watering and nurturing every day. Your ideas, your— the things you want need watering every day. And when you nurture it, once it pops, I think it grows 90 feet in 5 weeks after that, right? So it's just never give up. Nothing happens overnight that's going to last. Don't give up.
Susan?
The thing, I guess, the thought I'd like to leave everybody with is to surround yourself with like-spirited people, more so than like-minded, because you don't necessarily want that so much. You want to have some interaction and you want to get some feedback and, you know, but like-spirited people. And when you can develop and put yourself in a community like that, you will exponentially grow as a result of having that support and camaraderie. And it'll fill you up because you know you're a part of somebody else's success as well. So that's the— I would— that would be my parting suggestion.
And Nancy?
I would say, of course, be the one. Get out there and be the one who makes a difference, who makes an impact, who treats every single person with, with love and respect, even if you don't agree.
Right.
Right? Seek understanding rather than to be understood. And that's Stephen Covey, by the way. Um, and the, the other thing I would share is know that you're here for a purpose, a unique beautiful purpose to be a contribution to this fabric of life. And the more you can be your authentic self, the more the right people, circumstances, and opportunities will be placed in your path for you to fulfill that destiny and to, to be the highest expression of yourself. So Be you unabashedly, unashamedly. Be your best self and don't try to be perfect.
Yeah, you're here on that.
Don't try to be perfect because people love when I mess up and I can laugh at myself about it. It's, it's endearing and it, it says, oh, you know what, look how successful she is and she's not perfect. I guess I could be Successful too. So just know that.
Thank you very, very much, ladies. I would just add to that as a way of wrap-up from my experience having met all 3 of you and interacted at some level with all of you as well, is that to be playful. I think we get very, very serious and we can forget to play. And through the playfulness that I've experienced with you ladies and the community, is you ask very different questions. And I think that's significant. They're not vanilla questions. They're not the basic questions. They're actually really good questions that invoke inward reflection to get that heartfelt answer, that authentic answer. So my tip would be to ask great questions as well. Awesome. Thank you so much, ladies. It's been an absolute Thank you. Thank you very, very much. I'll just give a quick insight as to what's happening on next week's show. We have from Australia, who also operates Australia and in the US, Michael Gray from MKG Events. Now I crossed paths with him because he's a fellow events person, but he has a team that helps you fill events. And he is coming on to share some of his insights as well as some of his stories. He's a bit of a bottom-line guy like you, Trish, and he's got a criteria of, you know, what makes a successful event work and how to fill the rooms. A very impressive track record where he's helped clients increase their profitability by 300%, and online events in the last 6 months, he's been helping clients achieve 830% increase in profitability because of the way he's built events. And so that was some little nuggets that he just shared in an email. I haven't actually shared that conversation, so I'm super excited to be sharing that with the community, uh, on next week's episode.
And I'm excited to be there because it's right in line with our global expansion.
I'll take that kind of growth.
And a great, a great connection for me to be able to share with you all as well. So
thank you
