In this interview excerpt, Speaker A asks how writing can help individuals connect with their legacy and make lasting contributions. Speaker B explains the concept of "juicy" writing—using emotions, body language, and sensory details to fully immerse readers in the writer’s experience. By crafting such vivid narratives, writers enable readers to undergo personal transformation, seeing aspects of themselves reflected in the story, which the speaker describes as a powerful gift that can inspire readers to understand the writer’s motivations and potentially shape their own legacy.

Yeah, and there's also— you've also talked about how does writing help us get in touch with the legacy and that lasting contribution. And I think there was a story from Lindsay around how that person got in touch and then started to create their legacy and what they wanted to contribute to the world. So can you share a little bit about the work that you do in, you know, helping people actually get in touch. You know, I imagine in my own person, it's unpacking the, you know, unraveling the onion skin almost to get to the juicy bits.
I understand, and I love the juicy bits because I talk about writing juicy, which is, you know, getting in touch with all the emotions and the body language, but also all the senses so you can immerse people in your experiences. And, you know, they may not still think about the world in the way that you do, but they understand why you do. And so, it's incredibly powerful. And then, when you go through transformations, then, as you mentioned, the reader can see their own inside that story. And to me, that's a remarkable gift to give.
Gives me goosebumps. Yes.
And, you know, it's fascinating. They have done a lot of studies on the power of writing on your brain. And 2 things happen. One is that especially if you have survived any trauma, and if you've lived on the planet for a while, you probably have experienced certain forms of trauma in one way or another that, you know, every human does, and some more than others.
