3 things I would do differently if I would start again as a producer right now #producertips

Yo, it's Sam Feld, DJ and producer and I wish I knew these three things when I started producing. Number one Be original. Don't try to imitate whatever's popular on the Beatport chart or on itunes or on the radio right now. Find your own sound that you love and stick to it. Number two don't make it too difficult for yourself. Don't start with a blank canvas. Don't open your daw or FL studio, whatever you use and just stare at the screen hoping something will come out. No, instead, make edits, make mashups, make bootlegs. Make things that inspire you before you start with making your own originals. If you can't find good vocals to work with, just use a popular vocal from maybe like a top 40 song, put it in your daw, download the acapella, build a track around it and use it for inspiration. Number three Collabing. I didn't collab enough. Sitting in a studio together with somebody can fast track your progress. Enormous.
