Hasan Minhaj ranks himself average or above among comedians, citing his distinctive look and voice. He admires Chris Farley's physical humor, Felipe Esparza's visual comedy, and Dave Chappelle's vocal delivery. His shows blend stand-up, storytelling, and theater to create something cohesive rather than scattered.
Amongst 100 comedians that are like at the same skill level, are you naturally, are you the average, above average, below average? Where would you say? There's people that look funny, talk funny, say things in a funny way. You're already in the top heap. Think about those guys. Chris Farley. Yes. Another comic I love, Felipe Esparza. Felipe Esparza just looks funny. Chappelle has an amazing voice. Right. Yeah, I look like a news anchor. You know what I mean? Like I look like I should be doing like the 5-day forecast or whatever. But I also have like a, I have a genuine love and I have something that I wanna say. When I put together a show, I want to give you a show. I want it to be a show. Putting together, mixing stand-up comedy, storytelling, and theater, that to me was my elixir.
