Laird Hamilton started his Layered Superfood brand with $20-30k, spending it on getting online instead of opening a store. First year sales hit $50-100k, then scaled to $150k. He credits the product quality and lean online approach for the fast growth.
I read the story about how you used to make what is now Layered Superfood at home. How much capital did you invest to get it store ready? Couple, $20, $30 grand or something like that. But we went online first. That's why it didn't cost us much to start. Do you remember your first year's sales? Ah, you know, $50, $100 grand or something like that. But it happened real quick. We just marched into probably $150, something like that. Even a little bit more after probably a year. I mean, the traction happened quickly because good stuff.
