In this brief commentary, the speaker highlights two striking examples of elite athletes excelling in competitive video games: LeBron James recently reached the top‑100 rank in Madden, a popular football video game, and Luka Dončić, a star NBA player, is a Grandmaster (top‑500) in Overwatch, a first‑person shooter. The speaker expresses amazement at these achievements, noting that they reflect a level of gaming skill that surpasses most casual players. To underscore how impressive this is, the speaker shares a personal anecdote about spending three hours a day on Overwatch for two years yet never breaking out of Bronze rank, emphasizing the gap between the athletes' gaming prowess and the average gamer's experience.

LeBron James recently reached out to this thing that he was a top 100 ranked Madden player, or like he reached rank 100, which is like the top rank. No way. And it's going to be one of the most played games in the world, right? Yeah. It doesn't mean he's a top 100 player, but it means he still reached the top rank of the people who are playing competitively at that moment. That's still impressive. Luka Dončić, who's like one of the best basketball players in the world. He's a top 100 Overwatch player. What's Overwatch? Is that a war game? It's a first-person shooter. And he's the best or one of? He's a grandmaster player, the top 500. It's insane. And people are like, oh, well, these guys are their athletes. They have a lot of time to play video Time when their body's just still ridiculous. I don't give a shit, dude. I was playing Overwatch 3 hours a day for like 2 years. I couldn't even break bronze. This is incredible.
