He notes that 100 million downloads is impossible to keep, since no app ever retains that many users right after launch. The real question is whether Threads grows beyond early adopters after three months or just plateaus.
If you guys look at the Google Trends for Threads, it's not looking good. I didn't have a lot of faith in it. I saw a lot of people talking about that and I think their takeaway is like, oh, it's not working or it failed. But like, I see that and I'm like, that was going to happen either way. There was no chance that 100 million people are going to download it and 100 million people are going to keep using it next week. No app in the history of mankind ever has worked that way. But the question is like, what happens 3 months from now once they get their kind of core base of users? Does that start growing or not?
