OpenAI hit $10 billion in annual revenue, doubling from $5 billion in under three years. Early employees are making tens of millions of dollars, and you can buy shares on secondary markets. Speaker A compares OpenAI's dominance to Microsoft, Google, and Amazon at their peaks.
OpenAI is now at $10 billion in ARR. It basically doubled revenue from $5 billion to $10 billion, and it's been less than 3 years since it launched. OpenAI is the Facebook of this current generation. Maybe more. 30 years ago, it was like Microsoft. 20 years ago, it was Google and Amazon. 15 years ago or so, that was the Facebook era. The one right now is OpenAI. Me and you are probably going to look at ourselves and be like, why didn't we go buy OpenAI stock? How dumb do we have to be? Can you own it? Yeah, you can buy it in secondary.
I had a buddy of mine 2 or 3 years ago, and he was like, yeah, I have a job offer from Neuralink. And OpenAI. He chose OpenAI, and he has made so much money, tens of millions of dollars, just from being like the 1,000th employee.
Crazy that that's a normal thing that's happened to like 1,000 people right now or more in like 30-mile radius of where I live.
